VCA Dunmore Animal Hospital Reviews
I took my cat there today his eye was cloudy he had gotten into the dusty attic and I wanted his eye checked. The tech took the information we did tell her that our daughter came back from college with her cat and maybe he got scratched. She left and then came back in with the doctor and cat was examined. Dr wanted a stain test done to make sure The cornea wasn’t damaged. I’m sure she could see that there was no scratches on the cats eye when she looked at it. That test was $88. There was also the room charge for $107 and three different medicines for another hundred dollars. I just want to say how do they know that the cat needs all that medicine before she was even looked at my bill was $308 I will never go back there again. They are definitely overpriced. I don’t know how these places live with themselves ripping people off and doing things that really don’t need to be done. No, I am not a doctor, but I have common sense.
May 16, 2025 · Lisa DepewMy cat had to have emergency surgery to fix an ear hematoma that would've absolutely burst without immediate attention. They squeezed me in first thing in the morning, worked with me on the cost of surgery, and got him in for surgery that day when every other vet in the area was booked out or not accepting clients. The doctors and techs there are all so amazing and friendly and really know how to make you and your pet feel so cared for. They will be my new permanent vet office for all of my animals!
May 21, 2025 · Marley KindermanFirst I would like to say that the front desk staff is extremely welcoming and amazing to talk to. Nikki, Dianne and especially Esther do an amazing job at making me and my puppy feel comfortable, it’s almost like we’re family. This is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely send my friends and family their way!
Feb 04, 2025 · Wilfredo MejiaWe have used vca Dunmore for our dog since he was a puppy and have been on their care club membership since we got him 2 and a half years ago… today is the last day we use vca. We selected a weekend appointment a month ago for the next available Saturday which was today. When we took our dog to the appointment he needed 2 shots. They took him to the back to give him the shots and came back and told us they couldn’t give him the shots because he was too wiggly, which has never been an issue for them except for when they tried to do blood work. So they told us they couldn’t do anything and told us he would need to be on meds to bring him back for the shots. My girlfriend asked if we could hold him and do it in a room, which we have done every time rather than them just taking him to the back, but now all of a sudden it’s a liability and we need to drug our dog to get anything done. The only difference with this appointment was I selected a different doctor then who I normally have which is dr. Esopi who is absolutely wonderful! After this experience we will be canceling our care club membership and never using this vet again.
May 17, 2025 · Brett ReapI would strongly advise against bringing your pet to VCA Dunmore. My daughter completed her preceptorship there as a SUNY Delhi vet tech student, and it was the worst experience imaginable. She called me in tears multiple times due to the way she was treated by the staff. They had absolutely no patience in teaching her and made no effort to help her learn or grow in the field. Instead of fostering a supportive learning environment, they were dismissive, rude, and unprofessional.Thankfully, she is now at a different veterinary clinic where the staff is incredible. They are patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping her succeed as a vet tech. The difference is night and day. The experience at VCA Dunmore was a complete waste of time, and I would never recommend them to anyone—whether you're a pet owner or a student looking to gain hands-on experience.
