★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot speak highly enough of Russell Veterinary Services and the exceptional care they provided for our 110-pound German Shepherd, Max. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this clinic goes above and beyond to ensure both pets and their owners feel comfortable, safe, and well-informed. Their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail truly set them apart.Max has had a traumatic experience with a previous veterinarian, which left him extremely anxious and fearful. When I explained this to the staff at Russell Veterinary Services, they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They took the time to listen to our concerns and tailored their approach to ensure Max felt as comfortable as possible. They even provided us with medication to administer two hours before the procedure to help him relax. Although I mentioned that the previous veterinarian had struggled to sedate Max, they assured me the medication would work and adjusted the dosage based on his estimated weight of 120 pounds. While the medication didn’t have the desired effect, the staff remained calm, professional, and ready to adapt.Upon arrival, I explained that Max was still alert and anxious, and the staff immediately sprang into action. Understanding his territorial and protective nature, they carefully muzzled him and took him through the back entrance to avoid further stress. The veterinarian was shocked that the initial medication hadn’t worked but quickly administered an IM injection and placed him in a dark, quiet room to help him relax. I was incredibly nervous, but their reassurance and expertise put me at ease. Within ten minutes, they called to let us know Max was asleep and that they had discovered a severe ear infection in both ears. They proceeded to clean his ears, apply medication, and provided us with a prescription to continue treatment at home. What truly stood out was their commitment to keeping us informed every step of the way. They called us promptly with updates, which was a must-have for us as it made us feel involved and reassured throughout the process. Their transparency and communication were exceptional. The staff at Russell Veterinary Services were not only highly skilled but also incredibly polite and compassionate. They treated Max with the utmost care and respect, and it was evident that they genuinely cared about his well-being. Their ability to handle a large, anxious dog like Max with such professionalism and patience is a testament to their expertise and dedication.I will be recommending Russell Veterinary Services to everyone I know. They exceeded our expectations in every way, and I am so grateful for the care they provided to Max. If you’re looking for a veterinary clinic that truly goes above and beyond, look no further than Russell Veterinary Services. They are simply the best!
March 15 · Christopher HigginbthamI dont think Ive ever been treated so nice before at ANY vet for any reason Ive ever been to one! I cant say thank you enough to this place! I called in complete panic! I done called 4-5 other places and couldn’t get in. They took me immediately.I took in 4 puppies from a yard sale of a woman losing her home. She herself was skeletal thin. The puppies are about 6 weeks old. And we’re literally running down the hill into the river. Her son & I went and got them. Just day prior I had seen one of these puppies & I tried to catch her. Running down the side of a 45 mph zone. I jumped out of the car still moving trying to get her. But her and her mom were fast. So when we came upon their yard sale days later, I went. In hopes of them asking if I wanted a puppy. And I asked how many she had. 4 left. And she cant afford to feed them since they are eating hadd food now. You can see that the other three adults she has are hungry. This broke my heart into pieces. I gave her 40# of food. And asked to take all four puppies and find them homes. She agreed. My intention was to set up a tent and give them away. We got them home. Bathe them. Next day started dewormer because we could see their bellies are popped. On day two we went to set up. I had bagged up each puppy a food bag, goats milk powder w/ instructions, dewormer packet each & puppy pads.We got them home to set up and two puppies exploded in worms. So we went home and bathed again. And decided to wait out the three whole days ourselves with the wormer. I noticed the night of day three. One pup was more tired than usual. Then he stoped eating. And drinking. And my gut turned & I balled. I just knew it parvo. So I started the fluids by syringe. All night. I tried giving him chicken & rice. And he didnt want it. Off to find a vet. This place was so sweet on the phone! Listened to me! And got us in immediately. The whole 45 min drive I balled & prayed. Dont let me save these puppies just to loose them. My worst fear came true. A strong positive for parvo. The way I collapsed into that bench and couldn’t breathe. I have dogs of my own as well and immediately feared for them as well. This guy listened! Didnt make me feel bad for crying!Im a huge a dog lover. So getting this news just hurt my soul. He helps me get meds for all four pups. I started the one soon as I left the vet office. Gave him nausea med & fluid and waited thirty mins. Then gave the antibiotics. I was still 15 mins away then. By the time I got home he wanted to eat! Amazing! The only girl started showing symptoms while I was at the vet with the littlest! So when I got back I started all three on theirs. She didnt eat for about 6-7 hours total. Three hours after the meds my mom found out about electrolytes for puppies & high cal stuff thats like syrup. I found both at tractor supply!I gave the girl 1/4. Tsp just to get her something started. Within that hour she was up and walking! I still had to syringe her fluid. I mix a tiny bit of electrolytes and goats milk and made her take it. Slowly. The turn around she made! I got her to eat some beef. Just like the boy she finally ate it.I called back to ask if this is normal. To see them bounce back so quick. Is this a better before Im worse deal. We don’t exactly know yet. But as of almost 1 am. Less than 24 hours from the 9 am visit. They are all eating. And drinking! And playing again!I am still pushing the electrolytes, high cal, both meds & goats milk! Praying on this being okay! These puppies are so smart and learned how to use a pee pad immediately! Listen to you! Its so wild at such a young age how good they are!Anyways hands down the best clinic ive ever walked into. Waiting on results were brutal because I have high anxiety all day. And this possibility had me wanting to pass out. I was having a hard time there with that. But thats not their fault. They double checked his test. They did everything right!Thank you all so much! Id definitely come back & recommend them! Amazing!!
July 10 · Amanda TylerAwesome people to take care of our furry family members. They are very professional and very caring. The place is clean and smells wonderful and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.Good job!!
August 22 · James Elmer RiceI've been using Dr. Russell's veterinary services for quite some time now. We have a small farm/homestead with two older horses, two working dogs, one old guard dog, a middle-aged cat, and "The Girls" for eggs. What I like about Dr. Russell is that he'll do a farm-call for a fee, and examine our very large working dogs and horses in one visit. Otherwise, we'd have to borrow a horse trailer and drag each of our 3 dogs in one-at-a-time.He's very caring, a great listener, and knowledgeable; covering all questions and concerns. This is very important to us, seeing that both of our horses are 28 years old. They are like my children, as I had none of my own; making them a major part of the family.
January 24 · Diane H HolycrossReferred as my standard vet does not treat farm animals/livestock. Although, we ultimately chose euthanasia, I’m so grateful to the team who assisted with my injured chicken. Will definitely keep these guys on speed dial going forward.
