★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was literally worried sick about my sweet Obi. I tortured myself trying to search for answers and solutions. Initially I couldn't get an appointment for a few weeks. I called asking if they got cancelations, the sweetest lady who answered my call was so compassionate and caring. She took my number and called me back the same day with an appointment that same week. I felt welcome, my Obi was made to feel like a superstar. Their kindness, patience and expertise were second to none. The doctor and her assistant were fantastic at explaining everything. You earnes my trust after the first sentence. Thank you all sooo much for putting my mind at ease. Obi the Basset Hound (and I) love you all!!
April 03 · Denise HaighI wish you could give 0 star reviews because 1 star is more than this place deserves. 11/20/24 Dr Osborn killed my dog Bronx attempting to flush his ear for a chronic ear infection. I guess when you have a 14lb dog and when nothing is coming out you just keep pumping him full of liquid. They had to rush him to an emergency animal hospital nearby. This place is not equipped to do anything if something goes wrong. Since the liquid was not draining it was just absorbed into the surrounding tissue. This was enough to close off his wind pipe. The emergency vet could not explain why they pumped him so full of liquid. The picture I posted is him struggling to breathe on the ventilator. They had to give him pure oxygen just to get enough into his lungs. He suffered for hours on that machine. If you love your animals like we loved Bronx please take them somewhere else.
April 19 · Matthew MarshallThe expertise and dedication at Southwest Veterinary Dermatology are truly unmatched. After exhausting options at two hospitals and five different specialists, we found SVD—and the difference in care was remarkable. Their team offers an unparalleled level of collaboration, evidence-based treatments, and clear, direct communication that resulted in dramatic improvements in our Neapolitan Mastiffs' health. From thorough diagnostics to aggressive, well-researched treatment plans, they have consistently demonstrated exceptional specialty care. We firmly believe that SVD saved our pets’ lives. Their accessibility, kindness, and willingness to educate and support pet owners make them an invaluable resource. If your pet needs specialized dermatological care, we highly recommend them without hesitation.
February 21 · Danielle EllisCannot recommend Southwest Veterinary Dermatology enough! Our sweet Bourbon has been dealing with skin problems for the last six months and nothing we tried was helping. He had pus filled lesions all over his skin and I was in our primary vet office WEEKLY trying to figure out what was wrong. We finally decided it was time to see a dermatologist after the biopsies and 8 weeks of antibiotic treatment failed. Dr. Sarah was able to get him biopsied and we finally have a treatment plan. After six months of no answers and frustrations, I can’t even express how wonderful it is to have plan. Dr. Sarah and her incredible staff were worth the wait to get into and if you have a fur baby with skin issues, definitely take them to SVD.
April 09 · Megan MarteneyOur cat Lila had a spot near her shoulder. Our regular vet tried numerous different treatments to try and heal it but none worked. We were referred to a pet dermatologist and found southwest. They were able to diagnose that she had an allergic reaction to a vaccine last year and the Dr was able to surgically remove the spot and our Lila is finally healed after almost a year of dealing with this. Southwest Vet was fantastic with everything and we are extremely grateful that they were able to get this fixed for our kitty. Thank you again! Highly recommend!
