Spay Today, Inc. Introduce
For many pet owners across North Carolina, providing comprehensive veterinary care for their beloved companions is a priority, but the costs associated with essential procedures can sometimes be a barrier. This clinic specializes in high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter surgeries, along with other essential preventative care, directly impacting the well-being of countless pets and contributing to a healthier animal community in Eastern North Carolina.
Spay Today, Inc. opened its doors in May 2006, quickly becoming Eastern North Carolina's only low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter clinic. Their mission is clear and impactful: to reduce the number of unwanted animals being euthanized in shelters or suffering from abandonment. They achieve this by providing affordable surgeries for animals from municipal shelters, rescue groups, private owners, and even feral cat colonies. This commitment to affordability and volume makes a tangible difference in addressing pet overpopulation, a significant concern for animal welfare advocates throughout North Carolina.
What truly sets Spay Today, Inc. apart, as echoed by numerous grateful pet owners, is their unwavering dedication to providing excellent care without the prohibitive costs often found elsewhere. Reviews consistently highlight the kindness of the staff, the efficiency of their processes, and the impressive results of their surgeries, such as "MINIMAL scars on my poor kittens." This feedback underscores their commitment to both the welfare of the animals and the peace of mind of their owners. They understand that every "fur baby" deserves the best care, regardless of their family's financial situation.
Their team of licensed veterinarians and highly trained assistants works tirelessly, processing a high volume of pets daily while maintaining a high standard of care. This focus on efficiency and affordability allows them to serve a wide range of pet owners, ensuring that more animals in Greenville and surrounding areas receive the fundamental care needed to live healthier, happier lives. Spay Today, Inc. is a proud member of the National Spay/Neuter Response Team (NSNRT), having been trained and mentored by Humane Alliance, further solidifying their credentials in providing high-volume, high-quality services.
Spay Today, Inc. is conveniently located at 4550 - B County Home Rd, Greenville, NC 27858, USA. This address places them within easy reach for residents throughout Greenville and the surrounding counties of Eastern North Carolina. County Home Road is a well-known artery, facilitating straightforward access for those driving to the clinic.
The accessibility of their location is crucial for a high-volume clinic like Spay Today. Given that their core services, such as spay/neuter surgeries, are by appointment only with specific drop-off and pick-up windows (typically 7-8 AM for drop-off and 4-5 PM for pick-up), easy navigation helps maintain their efficient schedule. Customers appreciate the quick drop-off and pick-up process, which is made smoother by the accessible location.
As a key resource for affordable pet care in North Carolina, their central Greenville location ensures that a wide demographic of pet owners, including those on limited incomes, can access their vital services. The clinic is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for general inquiries and other limited services, while surgical appointments have their dedicated morning drop-off and late afternoon pick-up windows. This operational structure, supported by an accessible location, underscores their dedication to serving the local pet community efficiently and effectively.
Spay Today, Inc. focuses on providing essential and highly impactful veterinary services, primarily centered around preventative care and population control. Their streamlined approach allows them to offer high-quality care at a significantly reduced cost.
- Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Surgeries: This is their primary service, offered for dogs, cats, and rabbits. They provide high-quality surgeries designed for minimal discomfort and quick recovery, with specific pricing tiers based on weight. Prices typically include a pre-surgery exam, the surgery itself, cold-laser therapy, nail trim, and post-surgery pain medication, along with an e-collar.
- Vaccination Services: They offer a limited but crucial range of vaccines, including Rabies, Canine Distemper/Parvo (DA2PP), Leptospirosis, and Bordetella for dogs, and Rabies and FVRCP for cats. These can often be administered at the time of surgery or during separate, appointment-only vaccine clinics.
- Microchipping: Available as a standalone service or at a discounted rate when added to a spay/neuter appointment. This provides permanent identification to help lost pets reunite with their owners.
- Deworming: A basic preventative measure offered to manage common internal parasites.
- Heartworm Testing and Prevention: They offer heartworm tests and provide heartworm preventative medication, though proof of a negative heartworm test within the last eight months is required for preventative purchases.
- Limited Additional Surgical Procedures: At the discretion of the attending veterinarian, they may perform very limited additional procedures alongside spay/neuter, such as non-attached rear dewclaw removal or deciduous (baby) canine tooth extractions (with owner awareness of risks due to lack of dental X-rays).
- Post-Procedure Instructions and Support: They provide clear instructions for at-home care after surgery to ensure a smooth recovery.
It is important to note that Spay Today, Inc. specializes in these specific services and does not typically perform surgeries on animals with pre-existing conditions like seizures or heart murmurs, or other chronic diseases, as these conditions might affect anesthesia or healing and would be better suited for a full-service veterinary hospital. They also do not offer blood work services.

May 08, 2024 · Belle SGreat vet clinic! They make treatment very affordable and the employees work very hard and tirelessly to care for the abundant fur babies that come through with various needs on a daily basis! Their check-in process could use a little fine tuning, however given the amount of pets they have to take in, in about an hour every morning they are doing a fantastic job!Thank you Spay Today for really making a difference with our pet community! You guys are the best!"Teddy" & Teddy's mom!
Mar 02, 2023 · Rhonda AdamsI absolutely love these guys! They took such great care of my girl and kept me updated. I think I was more nervous than my girl. Abby came out with no problems and is doing great. Shannon was the best with the updates.
Dec 02, 2022 · Mylo AlvarezSpay Today is wonderful! I was able to get my dog and cat spay with vaccines. They even trimmed my dogs nails for me. Everyone was really nice and it was an organized process from check-in to check-out. Shannon worked with me to find a time I was off work to bring them in. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a pet spay.
Sep 30, 2021 · shellyGot my cats neutered here. One of my males was fine. My other male was drenched in blood like he was put in his kennel and never checked on. I washed him up real good and the bleeding stopped. I should not have received my precious pet back like that. My guys are very well taken care of. Please keep a close eye on your patients and don't let them go home super bloody. I mean his fur was drenched like he was picked up off the operating table and stuck in the kennel to never be checked on again other than making sure he was awake. It was weird because my other cat had nothing wrong with him. I did carry him home in the one I purchased from the facility. It was bone dry. He was dry. Both of my cats are back to normal and full of life! I also wanted to add that in order to get to Spay Today you have to go through the Farmers Market parking lot to the back and around the biulding and is then where you will find it. It is very hidden and a terrible location!
