VCA Animal Hospital of Plainfield Reviews
If I could give them ZERO stars I would.Their lack of customer service and complete and total failure to provide care in a timely matter is absolutely appalling. We have been dealing with this issue for months & the Hospital Manager, Rebecca Austin, is the rudest, most unprofessional, uncaring individual I believe I've ever come into contact with. There have been times webhave called days on end and no one answers the phone. The national office tried calling TEN TIMES on our behalf and the phone was never answered! We have now had to take Benson to different offices three different times and pay the $90 office visit because the Care Club doesn't go between the offices. When we pointed that out to them the last time, we received a rude and flip, "Yep, that stinks."Today we called about Benson having a possible eye infection, they told her he needed to be seen IMMEDIATELY, so when she asked when she could bring him in they responded, "Oh we don't have any appointments until April." We are now up to $270 in office fees she has had to pay for him to be seen at other locations. She has asked to simply be released from the remaining contract & was told no. The national care club people said they have no control over it because it's up to the hospital manager.AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS!
Mar 10, 2025 · Lisa FritzSo far so good, will update after second appointment. Update: second appointment went well. So once again, so far so good. Update: Update - 3rd and 4th visits went well. My dogs Doctor is the best of the bestest, she cares for my Sparkles as if he was her own. Thank you.
Sep 15, 2020 · Juan HernandezWe said goodbye to our beautiful boy today. He was rapidly declining with an unexpected illness. Within a weeks time he went from happy go lucky to not eating and struggling to breathe. Dr. Boone took labs and diagnosed him quickly. Within 24 hours watched him struggle and decided it was best to stop his suffering. Dr Boone made a space for us to last minute to put him to sleep. Tiffany was extremely compassionate and was affectionate with our boy even after he had gone. Thank you for taking care of him as best as anyone could under these circumstances. I’m sure Hades is so grateful for what you did.
Sep 15, 2022 · AM CollinsMy bullmastiff has went to this clinic since he was a baby, even before it was owned by VCA. After Dr. Haithcox left, this clinic has gone completely downhill. While there are still excellent vet techs; frankly, the only saving grace for this clinic, there is not a full-time Vet on staff. Just contracted vets and management that does not care about your animals. My husband’s truck was stolen and he had to use my car to get to work. My bullmastiff had an appointment at 4:00 for an ear infection. I called the clinic and explained our situation. I asked if we were 5-10 mins late could we be seen. Whoever I spoke with apologized for the recent event and stated each appointment had a 10 minute grace period. My husband raced home from work to get my dog to this appointment. We arrived in their parking lot at 4:09. When I went inside the receptionist stated she had been informed by two people in the back that we would have to reschedule. She seemed uncomfortable sharing this information, when I asked why we had to reschedule, as we had made it there within the 10 minute grace period, she stated, “Well it’s 4:11 now.” When I became upset, as any person would in this situation, and expressed I didn’t understand how they would be kind on the phone but then not see my animal, especially after I had called to ask, the situation further escalated when the office manager emerged from the back and became confrontational. She didn’t even attempt service recovery or to work with us, she further antagonized the situation. I did raise my voice and her answer was to threaten me with the police. Is that how she handles all situations? When their clinic is clearly in the wrong and not honoring their word, if you get upset, she threatens you with the police. It’s laughable. She expressed she didn’t care if we ever returned, and continued to engage with us even as we were leaving. It’s obvious professionalism is a skill she has yet to develop. I did curse at her and I would do it again. After nine years with this clinic, this is how they treat long-standing clients? It’s quite clear they do not care about your pets just their bottom-line and their time. They don’t even honor their word.Thank you for mailing my dog’s records. At least you had consideration to do that. You forgot to include my second dog that had received care there. If you thought we would ever return there after your treatment of us, no worries. I’ve already re-established my dogs with another clinic. The office visit at the new clinic was $55.00 vs. VCA $76.00. An ear cytology at the new vet was $38.00 vs. $76.00 at VCA. Medication for my other dog was $96.00 vs $115 through VCA. We will never return, and I encourage others to not to attend this clinic either, unless you want to be nickel and dimed and treated poorly. Once the kind vet techs move-on it’s just a full rotating door, makes you wonder why this clinic can’t keep a staffed veterinarian.
Nov 03, 2023 · Heather Moss-BakerStaff is really nice and great with my dogs. They are just so expensive! I don't understand! I can get the same quality and service for a third of the price. I love animals but there is no reason I should be paying more for care for them then I do my children. Went for blood work and vaccinations. Wasn't even told pricing until after my card was ran (I understand partially my fault). 650$ for vaccinations and blood work! Wow! Crazy then to be told that it would be another 1600$ for dental care. That is absolutely outrageous. I priced other places and found that I have been taken advantage of by VCA for years in terms of prices for vaccinations, exams and monthly medications. I recommend doing research to find affordable care.
