Airport Animal Emergi-Center Reviews
Our dog needed emergency surgery. We live an hour and a half away and took her to Airport emergency center . They were very kind and helpful and answered all of our questions and even walked us through signing up for financing. They explained everything very well and took excellent care of our fur baby. We truly appreciate your kindness and for taking such great care of her. We highly recommend taking your animal here. Thank you!
Jun 18, 2025 · Bridget CaudillWe recently had to take our family dog of 10 1/2 years here to put him to rest. My husband and I have had him our entire marriage and it was so difficult for us. The vet tech that put him to sleep was amazing, she was so gentle and sweet to him. Told him how cute he was. The entire staff was very accommodating and we received a card in the mail about 2 weeks later with the staff’s signatures inside and warm words from a lot of them. I just want to thank you all for helping us through this and making it as peaceful for him as it possibly could have been, he was an amazing pup.
Sep 06, 2024 · Elyse LandrumI cannot begin to explain the amount of gratitude I have for the staff at this location! Recently brought my 6 lb Maltese in as he accidentally ingested chocolate. My significant other and I were able to rush him immediately after ingestion and we called the closest location to our home to see if they could put immediate attention on him when we arrived. We were greeted and cared for with compassion and absolutely incredible bedside manner throughout the entire visit. The staff was attentive and very transparent and honest with every update they provided to us. Staff was able to induce immediate vomiting and released over 80% of the toxin; We were encouraged to let our pup stay for an overnight visit to monitor vitals and receive fluids for kidney function, due to his small size, and although tough to be separated from him, we felt very confident leaving our little one with this team. We were alerted later that evening that our baby would be allowed/released to return home with medication and care instructions, due to his behaviors and positive progress There is NO Better feeling than receiving such news after such an emotional afternoon. Price/cost of care was never a factor, as no amount of money can be placed on our pet's health, but at no point during this visit did I feel I was being taken advantage of by the staff financially, however, rather, felt there was compassion for one's wallet/finances as they were able to release him sooner than expected, resulting in a invoice that was HALF the amount I was originally quoted.I would recommend this vet location to anyone who wants to feel that their pets are being treated for as their own/as family. The entire staff from Dr. Gust to the sweet receptionist (kudos as you handle folks at their WORST as they're panicking on their way in!) and every technician involved, they went out of their way to help us remain calm and confident in the care our baby would be receiving. Thank you SO MUCH to the entire staff!
Jan 29, 2025 · Kylie Sinclair**Would NOT recommend this place to anyone with a pet in critical condition** Just because it says they are open overnight does not mean they will provide you or your pet with compassionate and high quality care in an emergency. It's actually quite unclear to me why they are called an emergency center. We brought our dog to another animal hospital where they told us they did not have a surgeon to operate on him. Because he was so critical, they suggested we find somewhere else with a surgeon who could operate immediately. After calling around, Airport told us that if we brought our dog in for the linear foreign object removal surgery he needed, that they had someone who could do it. We immediately left and drove an hour, while manually pumping IV fluids into our dog, to Airport. When we got there, despite the fact that he was in critical condition, they showed no sense of urgency and made no effort to provide life saving measures. Dr. Gust came into the room pretty quickly, and after assessing our dog for a couple of minutes, told us that if he operated our dog would die and to go in with that expectation. He strongly recommended euthanasia and said he was shocked that wasn't recommended to us already. Again, I don't get how they call themselves an emergency center. They do not have a board certified surgeon on staff during the night (or maybe at all?) nor the needed staff to properly perform a foreign object removal. Essentially, it is a general vet clinic that is open at late hours—NOT a true emergency center. Their website is incredibly misleading as they advertise their critical care and trauma services and even specifically advertise being able to do foreign object removal surgeries. We called the hospital we initially went to and they told us they had a surgeon who could operate that night (we were given inaccurate information which was not Airport's fault). We thanked Dr. Gust for this time and told him we were going to bring him back to the hospital he came from where he could get the care he needed. He seemed to be appalled by this and told us this was a very bad idea. However, we had not come all that way for a doctor who would not properly perform the procedure that he needed, as we were told by multiple other facilities. We had run out of fluids and asked Dr. Gust if we could please buy some more to take with us and he stormed out of the room. The one nice thing I can say is that they did not charge us for this disaster of a visit. We drove another hour back to the original hospital where they were professional and immediately rushed our dog inside for fluids and stabilization. He is on the road to recovery and is already back home walking around, eating, and drinking. This never would have been possible had we not made the decision to trust our guts and leave Airport. I don't blame Airport for not having the resources to help our dog the way he needed; however, they should have declined the transfer (which was clearly outside of their capabilities) and should have been more professional. I can never recommend this facility to anyone who is who cares about their pets and am just incredibly disappointed in how this all played out.
Jun 30, 2025 · Emily TackWe took our mini schnauzer here after she ingested mouse poison. They gave me advice over the phone for immediate assistance and recommended having her checked out for further treatment. We were brought back and vitals checked immediately. We received compassionate and thorough care from the initial phone call until we were checking out. Our pup is doing great!
