★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They're nice enough. But they never told me they wanted a #2 sample, and it's nowhere near 110.00 for one even in ridiculously overpriced Lincoln Park! So far, I got her teeth cleaned for 900 in LP and Compassionate on Harlem by Aldi STARTED at 1,200, up to 2,500!!Which is completely insane. And NOT going to happen, either. Do you REALLY think people can afford those prices? It's about twice as much, in this case, for a simple fecal test. Also, I don't care to have stuff done and nobody tells you the cost ahead of time. I had a dermatologist pull that and it cost me 500.00 that greatly overpriced, BS "insurance didn't touch one dime of!! I found that out AFTER the appointment! They also told me NOTHING. Still have the skin problem, too! Probably stress from being taken advantage of.We were using Oz Animal. Anyone can call them and ask what a fecal costs...I know for a fact, their overhead is WAY MORE than here. I was in real estate.
August 12 · Winds of March Journey/Perry tribute bandWe are so grateful to have Mont Clare Animal Hospital in our neighborhood. For over 20 years we have been taking our dogs to this vet practice, so a review is long overdue! Dr. Mendez and Dr. Mortensen are a great team. They both have a no nonsense, no ego approach yet still show you they care about your pet. Most importantly, they are experienced and knowledgeable. All of the vet techs are great, but Michelle and Victor are simply the best. Michelle is compassionate, and Victor is a gentle giant. The two dogs we have now suffered severe abuse, and from the very start they took to Victor. As far as the front desk, Mary has been there working there since our first visit which says a lot. She knows how to keep the place running smoothly. Jessica is enthusiastic and always helps to get our questions answered. We have many stories we could share, but most recently our dog had blastomycosis. It’s very serious and rare in this part of the US. The most troubling aspect of his case was that the infection was deep in his paw and required a toe amputation. We were so worried he wouldn’t be able to enjoy his walks ever again, but Dr. Mendez did a phenomenal job on the surgery. He now has only 3 toes on that paw, but you’d never know it! Thanks to their work and months of treatment, slowly but surely our dog made a full recovery. Thank you, Mont Clare Animal Hospital!
July 12 · Vicky NemickasWe were asked to bring in our dog for followup checkup for ear infection. We were told that sample would be taken and reviewed again to see bacteria culture. But all that was done on the actual visit was cleaning of the 1 ear. And that costed us $100. I’m sorry but how do you think people have this kind of throwaway money?
August 23 · Mallika NaiduI find the vets and staff here to be super unfriendly and not very welcoming. They don't even seem to like animals very much. Care more about their own pets that they keep behind counter. Several of them. Vets always seem annoyed to answer questions. They never smile. Everyone seems to hate working there. Also my appointment was rescheduled due to an emergency they had which was understandable except when I had an emergency with a pet I was turned away. Had to go elsewhere. I have been coming to Montclare since I was a child 50 years ago. Of course it was privately owned back then. VCA should look into the staff there. Medical knowledge is fine. No complaints but the personalities there leave a lot to be desired.
July 10 · catlover 9300We took our dog to vca April 11, 2024 bc she was using the bathroom in the house. payed nearly 250$ in bloodwork and a special diabetes test. For them to come back in the waiting room and say good news she doesn’t have diabetes. Gave us antibiotics and on our way home. 2 weeks later symptoms still present but our dog stops eating and drinking water and so weak. Vca required another 105$ for a visit which we did not have they recommend we take her to animal welfare league which they took there own blood work and X-ray there (and we had to pay again) and tell us she has severe diabetes and this all could’ve been controlled if it was caught sooner. Our dog passed same day just 4 hrs later. So shame on vca for taking senior citizens money especially those who are low income! You lie about the test results and what’s actually wrong with our pets to consume more money. Our dog could’ve been with us a little while longer if your staff would’ve never lied about the results!
