While their primary focus is on vaccinations, they also offer other fundamental preventative care options to help maintain your pet's overall health.
- Core Vaccinations for Dogs: This includes vital immunizations such as Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus (DAP or DHPP), and Rabies. These vaccines protect against some of the most common and dangerous canine diseases prevalent in urban and suburban environments.
- Core Vaccinations for Cats: Essential feline vaccinations typically include Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (FVRCP), and Rabies. These help safeguard against highly contagious and potentially severe feline illnesses.
- Leptospirosis Vaccination: Often recommended for dogs with outdoor exposure, protecting against a bacterial disease that can be transmitted through wildlife urine and contaminated water.
- Lyme Disease Vaccination: Crucial for dogs in tick-prone areas, offering protection against Lyme disease, a common concern in the Northeast.
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccination: Important for dogs that frequently interact with other dogs, such as at dog parks, boarding facilities, or grooming salons.
- Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) Vaccination: Recommended for outdoor cats or those exposed to FeLV-positive cats.
- Microchipping Services: A vital service for pet identification, offering peace of mind that your pet can be reunited with you if they ever get lost.
- Parasite Control (e.g., Flea, Tick, Heartworm Prevention): While specific products may vary, the clinic often provides guidance and sometimes offers preventative medications to protect against common internal and external parasites.
- Basic Health Screenings: Depending on the clinic's offerings, they may provide simple health checks or tests for common conditions as part of their preventative packages.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic distinguishes itself with several key features that make it a preferred choice for many New York pet owners, particularly those seeking convenient and efficient preventative care. These highlights contribute to the positive experiences consistently reported by clients.
- Convenient Walk-in Service: One of the most significant advantages is the walk-in model. This eliminates the need for appointments, making it incredibly flexible for busy schedules. You can simply visit during their operating hours when it's most convenient for you and your pet.
- Affordable Pricing: Vetco is known for its competitive and transparent pricing for essential vaccinations and preventative services. This makes vital pet care more accessible to a wider range of pet owners, ensuring that financial constraints don't prevent pets from receiving necessary protection.
- Friendly and Professional Staff: As highlighted in customer reviews, the staff, including the veterinarians, are consistently described as friendly and professional. This positive demeanor helps create a comfortable environment for both pets and their owners, even for pets that might be anxious about injections. A review specifically mentioned a "friendly vet that made getting injections easy," indicating a caring approach.
- Efficient Service: The clinic's focus on specific, routine services allows them to operate with great efficiency. This means less waiting time for pet owners and a quicker, less stressful visit for the pets themselves.
- Focused Preventative Care: While not a full-service animal hospital, their specialization in vaccinations and preventative measures means they are highly proficient in these areas, ensuring high-quality delivery of these essential health services.

Oct 13, 2022 · bluz2316I made an appointment online to bring our dog in for the influenza vaccine. Unfortunately the dog received a vaccination that she already had and was good until 5/23. I called and spoke with the person that administrated the vaccine and asked why she was given bordella which she didn’t need that when I signed up I specifically stated the vaccine needed. He replied that the person that took the dog in didn’t know which shot was required and that vetco is not given or told the vaccine that is was requested. I now have to bring my dog someplace else for the vaccine and paid for a shot that was not even required. I am totally livid over this and just can’t wrap my head around such an ridiculous way to do business. Even 1 star is way to much for the Larchmont branch and after speaking to several people was told how awful they are with other services also. Stay away from Vetco Larchmont New York!!!!
