Veterinary Associates of the Bluefields Introduce
For pet owners in West Virginia, especially in the Bluefield region, finding a reliable and compassionate veterinary clinic is a critical part of ensuring our animal companions lead happy and healthy lives. Veterinary Associates of the Bluefields, located conveniently on E Cumberland Rd, is a well-known name in the community. This clinic offers a variety of services, aiming to provide care for pets from routine check-ups to more serious health concerns. This article provides a detailed and factual overview of the clinic to help local residents better understand its services, location, and what to expect from their team.
The experience at a veterinary clinic can be a mix of emotions for pet owners, especially when an animal is unwell. Positive interactions with the staff and veterinarians are crucial for building trust. A customer review highlights a successful experience with a specific veterinarian, stating, "Our corgi was injured by our Great Pyrenees and couldn’t use his back legs. Dr Blair only ran necessary tests and did an Xray. A few days later peanut was back to running and playing." This feedback demonstrates the team's ability to diagnose and treat conditions effectively without unnecessary procedures, which is a significant factor for many pet owners. It showcases a commitment to a pragmatic and results-oriented approach to care.
However, like any business, customer experiences can vary, and it's important to present a balanced view based on available public data. A few recent customer reviews mention significant changes and dissatisfaction with communication. One review detailed a frustrating experience while trying to schedule a surgery with a preferred doctor, Dr. Burnette, only to be told he was no longer at the clinic. The review expressed disappointment with the staff's handling of the situation, mentioning, "The lady who answered (super rude and snappy) how I could get a hold of him and she asked to put me on hold." Another review from a pet owner who had a positive history with Dr. Burnette expressed deep concern about his departure, stating, "He is the best vet in this area by a long shot and is the only reason I would even consider spending money at this dumpster of a vet clinic." This feedback suggests that the practice has been undergoing some changes, and its ability to maintain consistent customer service is a key point for consideration for potential clients.
For potential clients, these reviews offer a glimpse into the clinic's environment and the importance of specific doctors to the community. While some pet owners have had positive outcomes with doctors like Dr. Blair, others have had strong attachments to veterinarians who have since left. This dynamic is a crucial piece of information for anyone considering this clinic. The passion and strong opinions of the community, both positive and negative, are a testament to how much pet owners care about their animals and the people who treat them.
For residents of Bluefield, West Virginia, and the surrounding areas, the physical location of a veterinary clinic is a key factor. Veterinary Associates of the Bluefields is situated at 4019 E Cumberland Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701, USA. This location places it conveniently within the community, making it accessible for pet owners across the city and in neighboring towns. Its position on E Cumberland Rd ensures that it is relatively easy to find, which is particularly important during an emergency. The convenience of the location minimizes travel time, which can be a relief for both stressed pets and their owners.
While the physical location is central, accessibility also includes the overall patient experience. The clinic's ability to be responsive and provide clear communication is essential. The customer feedback points to a mixed experience in this regard. While the team is clearly dedicated to treating animals and a corgi was able to get necessary care, a customer trying to get information about a former veterinarian's new practice was met with what they considered an unhelpful response. This highlights that, like many busy practices, there may be variations in customer service. It is always best for prospective clients to consider calling in advance to discuss their specific needs and get a feel for the current staff and their communication style.

Always respectful of your concerns. Our corgi was injured by our Great Pyrenees and couldn’t use his back legs. Dr Blair only ran necessary tests and did an Xray. A few days later peanut was back to running and playing.
Apr 01, 2025 · Jessica KehoeCalled to schedule surgery with Dr. Burnette but was told he no longer practices at Vetassoc. I asked the lady who answered (super rude and snappy) how I could get a hold of him and she asked to put me on hold. When she got back on the phone she said Dr. Burnette is still practicing locally and that I would have to call around to find him if I wanted. Otherwise, they could schedule surgery with Dr. Blair. I hung up the phone.Dr. Burnette did emergency surgery on my dog and saved her life after 2 other vets (including Dr. Blair) tried to put her down. He is the best vet in this area by a long shot and is the only reason I would even consider spending money at this dumpster of a vet clinic. I’m not surprised at all he left and half the nursing staff left with him. Trust met, it shows! This practice does not prioritize what is best for your pet and is all about the money. To Vetassoc staff if you are reading… I took your advice and called around. I’ll be sure to send you a post card from Happy Tails! Withholding information to try to prevent me from getting in contact with my preferred doctor just so you can try to get my business is disgusting and unprofessional. Please do better.
Jul 19, 2025 · Debbie AndersonThe receptionist was the first and last impression. She was rude to me this morning when simply asking a question. I have now driven an hour and 1/2 further to be greeted by a wonderful team. She needs to be fired for her attitude. Her tone sets the tone of your business. No thanks.
Apr 19, 2025 · S LinemanCouldn’t recommend this vet more! We travel all over the country with my husband’s work, and we’ve never been more pleased with a vet! Dr. Blair has been wonderful in helping us with the aftercare of our pug’s bladder stone removal, as well as a check up for our golden retriever. He always takes time to explain everything and answer any questions we may have. I have never felt rushed in and out, or like they were just there to make a quick dollar. They genuinely care and look out for the best interest of our animals. All of the staff is wonderful!
May 14, 2023 · Courtney KaneI highly recommend Veteranian Associates for all pet needs. The staff provides professional services to the pets. They take time to clarify all questions and concerns.
