Village House Call Vet Introduce
For pet owners in the bustling landscape of New York City, finding convenient and compassionate veterinary care that caters to the unique needs of both pets and their busy guardians can be a significant challenge. This is where Village House Call Vet offers an invaluable solution, providing professional veterinary services right in the comfort and familiarity of your own home. Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar clinics, Village House Call Vet, led by dedicated professionals like Dr. Quagliata and her assistant Kayla, brings the vet office directly to your doorstep. This service is especially beneficial for pets who experience anxiety or stress in clinic environments, or for owners with mobility challenges, multiple pets, or simply a demanding schedule that makes clinic visits difficult.
The core philosophy of Village House Call Vet revolves around delivering personalized, gentle, and thorough care in a relaxed setting where pets feel most at ease. This approach aims to reduce the stress typically associated with vet visits, allowing for more accurate examinations and a more positive experience for the animal. From routine wellness checks to managing chronic conditions and even providing compassionate end-of-life care, Village House Call Vet strives to be a trusted partner in your pet's health journey, ensuring that quality veterinary attention is always within reach, without the added hassle of travel and waiting rooms in the city.
Village House Call Vet, while not operating from a traditional clinic storefront that clients visit, is based out of an administrative office at 40 Harrison St, New York, NY 10013, USA. This address is located in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, a well-connected and easily accessible part of New York City, which serves as a central hub for their mobile operations across the metropolitan area. The beauty of a house call veterinary service, of course, is that the location of their administrative office primarily serves their operational needs, while the veterinary care itself is delivered directly to your home.
For clients in New York City, this means unparalleled convenience and accessibility. There's no need to navigate heavy city traffic, search for parking, or wrestle an anxious pet into a carrier and onto public transport. Whether you reside in a busy apartment building in Midtown, a brownstone in Brooklyn, or a quiet street in Queens, Village House Call Vet aims to reach you.
The 40 Harrison Street location in Tribeca is highly accessible for the veterinary team as they dispatch for appointments. It is well-served by numerous subway lines (including the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 lines at Chambers Street or Franklin Street stations), major bus routes, and proximity to major roadways, allowing Dr. Quagliata and her team to efficiently travel to various boroughs. This central base ensures they can effectively cover a wide service area within New York City, providing a vital service to pet owners who prioritize the comfort and reduced stress of in-home veterinary care for their beloved companions.
Village House Call Vet, with its unique mobile model, offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services tailored to be delivered effectively in a home environment. Their focus is on providing thorough and compassionate care that minimizes stress for pets.
- Wellness Exams and Preventative Care: This includes routine physical examinations, vaccinations (customized to your pet's needs and lifestyle), parasite prevention (flea, tick, and heartworm), and general health assessments, all performed where your pet is most relaxed.
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: For pets exhibiting signs of illness, Dr. Quagliata can perform examinations, diagnose common conditions, and initiate treatment plans for a variety of acute and chronic ailments, often avoiding the need for a stressful clinic visit.
- Management of Chronic Conditions: Long-term care for conditions like arthritis, diabetes, kidney disease, or allergies can be effectively managed at home, allowing for consistent monitoring and personalized adjustments to treatment plans.
- Behavioral Consultations: Addressing behavioral issues such as anxiety, aggression, or inappropriate urination can often be more effective in the pet's natural environment, where the behavior occurs.
- Pain Management: Assessment and management of pain, whether acute from injury or chronic from conditions like arthritis, ensuring your pet's comfort and quality of life.
- Geriatric and Hospice Care: Specialized care for aging pets, focusing on managing age-related conditions, maintaining comfort, and improving quality of life as they enter their golden years.
- In-Home Euthanasia: One of the most compassionate services offered, allowing pets to pass peacefully in the familiar and loving environment of their own home, surrounded by their family, which significantly reduces stress during a difficult time.
- Minor Procedures: Certain minor procedures that do not require sterile operating room conditions or heavy sedation, such as nail trims, anal gland expressions, or simple wound care, can often be performed at home.
While the service excels in providing most routine and non-surgical care at home, for complex diagnostics (like extensive imaging requiring specialized equipment) or major surgical procedures, they will typically refer to a trusted veterinary hospital, ensuring your pet receives the most appropriate level of care.
Village House Call Vet stands out in the New York City veterinary landscape due to several unique features and highlights, particularly its commitment to compassionate, client-focused mobile care.

It saves time, eliminates travel stress, and allows pet owners to be present and involved in their pet's care without leaving their home.

This feature is deeply appreciated by grieving families, as it offers a dignified and private farewell, with the veterinary team also providing support to the owners.
- Empathetic and Supportive Professionals: Clients consistently highlight Dr. Quagliata's and Kayla's empathy, intelligence, and genuine caring nature. They go beyond medical treatment, offering comfort and support to pet owners, especially during difficult times of loss.

Village House Call Vet Reviews
I can't honestly say enough good things about Dr. Quagliata and Kayla. They cared for my cat George for the last three or four years of his life. Poor little guy had just had enough of vet offices. Dr. Q and Kayla showed him comfortable, delicate, and thorough care at home, where he was most comfortable. I sincerely believe that, without Dr. Q, George would not have lived as long as he did. Dr. Q was here for George's last moments and was compassionate, kind, and caring, and George passed peacefully in my lap. She even did so much to comfort me in my deep grief. I am truly grateful to Dr. Quagliata and Kayla for greatly improving the quality of George's life, and for just being such lovely people.
Feb 02, 2025 · Laurel DuvallDr. Q knows what it takes to be the vet we all need! Caring, smart, empathetic and ensuring our pet feels comfortable in their safe place - home. I don't know what I would do without her for my little Lucy!
Nov 04, 2020 · Jamie KeaneDr. Quagliata is one of the most skilled and compassionate veterinarians I've ever seen. What impresses me the most about her is the sheer amount of time she invests in each individual client, even after the appointment is over. Dr. Q. treats her clients like dear friends, while also being a firm advocate for the health and happiness of her patients. You won't find a team that provides more exceptional care than Village House Call Vet, all while taking away the normal stressors that come with having to go to a brick and mortar hospital!
Nov 04, 2020 · William LentzWe recently received our quarantine puppy Mabel, she arrived on a weekend where my Husband was out of town, and I was not prepared! Dr.Q came to our house to do an exam, ran a few tests and made me feel so comfortable with our new little love in record time. We have never had an in home visit (we have another dog, Charlie) and I can’t say enough good things about what an incredible experience it was, especially in these challenging times. Dr. Q was prepared for anything and made me feel so informed and educated. I feel so fortunate to have had such a great experience and to have a trusted partner for questions and advice!
Nov 14, 2020 · Sandy GilsenanDr Quagliata was my puppy’s vet from the moment I brought her home until the day I had to say goodbye. She is compassionate, honest, professional and responsive. I was lucky to be able to rely on her throughout my dogs life. Of course she was the first vet I went to when I got my new dog!
