White Rock Animal Hospital Reviews
Like many of us, I love my dog Toast like I gave birth to him. He got very sick with bloody stool, vomiting and not eating. Dr. Hawthorne at White Rock animal hospital was so kind and thorough without immediately going to expensive extremes. Vet med has gotten very corporate and this hospital still has that beautiful small family feel. The doctors are so accessible and you're not just talking to the front desk person. I called panicked and immediately spoke to Dr. Hawthorne, he was knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. I showed up the next morning in tears (helicopter mom) and he greeted me at the door, told me everything would be ok and personally gave me updates, calls and pictures of my dog son throughout the day. This man is the real deal. He CARES. He truly understood the worry and emotion I was experiencing over my sick baby. I'm beyond grateful for this practice still doing things old school of personal attention and care. Thank you Dr. Bob and the team for taking care of Toast Malone.
Mar 13, 2025 · Lindsay SmithThis is the best “furbaby” hospital ever. My dog was so sick. I didn’t make appointment, I didn’t call, I just showed up (just like a human hospital, you might have to wait but my “furbaby” is worth it). He was having diarrhea and vomiting for four days because I was trying to do home remedies which failed. I am a nurse so I thought I could handle this.On the 4 day I thought I best take him to a veterinarian. When I walked into this place, it was clean and the people were friendly. We Never been there before due to being new to the Dallas area. Dr Hawthorne is very engaging and explained everything.Touya (Sheba inu) is 100% better. Dr Hawthorne gave us medication and some sample dog food.Thank you for caring for my furbaby (my human)
Oct 20, 2024 · penny bomanSo glad I found White Rock Animal Hospital. My vet retired and I didn't want to go back to Katy Trail as they are VCA now. My neighbors recommended White Rock and I'm SO glad I found them. They have really helped with my older Golden and my 3-month old puppy. Not having to do an appointment REALLY works out well-I thought it might be a problem, but turns out it's just the opposite.
Jul 01, 2025 · Michelle HatchettI’m writing this review to warn other pet parents who are researching orthopedic surgeons in Dallas for TPLO surgery. My dog was recently diagnosed with a CCL tear, and after doing a lot of research, I came across White Rock Animal Hospital. Their website has a whole section dedicated to TPLO surgery, and the very first sentence clearly states: “At White Rock Animal Hospital in Dallas, we provide TPLO surgery to address any injuries and help your pet heal.” Naturally, I was relieved and hopeful. However, when I called to get an estimate and schedule a consultation, I was met with a completely different reality. The receptionist was incredibly dismissive and flat-out told me they don’t perform that surgery. When I pointed out what their website says, she asked my dog’s weight, then suddenly changed her reasoning to, “Well, the doctor only performs TPLO surgery on smaller dogs,” and that I’d need to be referred to the Dallas Surgical Center. This was confusing, frustrating, and frankly unacceptable. Not only was I given conflicting information, but the receptionist didn’t bother to double-check with a tech or a vet before shutting me down. It’s baffling that one of the only two surgeries they promote on their website is apparently not even offered—at least not for dogs of a certain size. If that’s the case, that needs to be made very clear on their site.Bottom line: if you're looking for a reliable orthopedic surgeon for your dog’s TPLO surgery, I would recommend avoiding White Rock Animal Hospital. Their communication is poor, their information is misleading, and their staff seemed uninterested in helping during what is already a very stressful time for a pet owner.
Jun 03, 2025 · Jailine HernandezThe rudest receptionist I’ve ever encountered. Called today to try and get my dog seen and as I was explaining the reason for the call their receptionist cut me off mid sentence and proceeded to tell me to take my dog to an emergency vet because vets were going to lunch. No attempt to even ask me if I could wait until after lunch or to schedule an appointment. Just dismissed. And to think I was referred here by a veterinarian friend.
