Petco Reviews
If i could give zero I would! The groomer greets me with a black hair bonnet and an attitude. She was unprofessional and did not want to cut my dog. She takes him back & before I can clear the parking lot, she calls and says she can't cut him. He gets in the car and starts to vomit. My dog rode 12hrs in the car traveling and not once vomited. This cut and him being sick was deliberate, and she should not be allowed around pets. She first said her name was Becca when she called for me to pick him up. When I called the grooming salon, she said her name was Briana. Sounds like she knew what she was doing.I escalated this to the manager on 6/20 with Kaitlyn and showed her how Briana left my dog. There was no reaction, as if she's done this before. The best she offered were dog treats. Do not take your fur baby to Clifton Heights Petco if you love and care about them. I also showed her a video of me cutting my dog for the first time with no restraints on a small ironing board in my office to try and correct what happened immediately after leaving Petco because he's a therapy dog at a senior community and is handled by numerous people. He wasn't crying, flailing, just pacing and skiddish because of his experience...hence no restraints. Her lack luster response only confirmed that it is more important to keep staff in numbers rather than qualified staff. He is a working dog who didn't get to do what he loves and is still traumatized because of Briana zipping those clippers straight to his hind leg bone! The last photo is what me and my coworker, who has six fur babies were able to accomplish a dee hours after his Petco visit.Update: It is almost a year later and I now have two fur babies who go to Broomall Petsmart. I always give a $20 tip for each pup because of their anxiety & fear and it seems based on their comments they do not want to cut them anymore. He is still experiencing anxiety and fear when going to the groomers even though he'sbeen with them for almost a year. He also still does not like to be touched on his hind legs. Because of his fear, my girl pup gets anxious from his energy. If anyone has recommendations please let me know. I have attached photos of my babies. They are Yorkie Bichon mix. The male is F1 & the female is F2.
May 20, 2025 · S DThe grooming services here are top notch. The tech was incredible with my anxious and grumpy old gal - she was so patient with our dog, who had a much less stressful experience than I would have expected. The de-shedding treatment was some of the best money I’ve spent, she’s shed less in the last week than she was dropping in a day.
Jun 18, 2025 · Molly O'HareThe store is very conveniently located along Baltimore pike inside a plaza with plenty of ample free parking. The store is a nice size and well lit from outside at night time. Very handicap accessible with large sliding doors upon entry. To the left of the main entrance is the grooming section. They seemed very attentive to whether we would enter their area but we did not. When you walk in the main entrance you will immediately notice the large signs that hang from the ceiling that identify each section. Everything is pretty easy to find. The staff is very friendly and helpful in directing you if there's something you can't find. We were greeted with a smile and a friendly voice inflection. Very accurately sent to the area we needed to find. The prices are decent and the purchase we made was high quality. Overall it was an excellent customer service experience, in a clean, well run establishment.(Side note. I left my cell phone on the counter when I was checking out and didnt realize until more than an hour later. They put it away for safe keeping and were so happy and cheerful to return it because they said sometimes people never come back for the lost items! They wouldn't even accept the cash reward I offered. Great staff. Excellent manager!)
Apr 12, 2024 · Philly Phone showI had a terrible experience at Petco’s grooming department in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvaniaand felt compelled to share. I brought my dog in for a scheduled grooming appointment, only to be met with unprofessional and rude behavior from the staff which I think was actually the manager. This women in particular repeatedly made sarcastic remarks, saying, “You don’t have to do it,” in a very condescending tone whenever I asked questions or expressed hesitation about the unexpected additional services they kept adding. What made matters worse is that after I finally agreed—despite the inflated price and pressure—they still declined to provide the service! It felt like they never really intended to help me or my pet and were simply trying to upsell or push me out.I left feeling disrespected, frustrated, and disappointed. Petco should be a place where pet parents feel supported and welcomed—not dismissed and mistreated. I won’t be returning and definitely wouldn’t recommend their grooming services to anyone.
Jun 19, 2025 · Danuta CoatesI’ve come here on numerous occasions to pick up litter, food/treats and toys for my cat Tiger and have had good experiences all the times I’ve been here. The staff are very helpful, and kind, they are also very knowledgeable about the products sold there too which is great. Will be back again.
