This emphasis on regulated and certified sources is a key aspect of their business model.
It's important for prospective pet owners in Connecticut to be well-informed about where their new companions come from. The core service offered by The Puppy Palace is the sale of puppies. Based on their stated business model and customer feedback, their offerings generally include:
Puppy Sales: A selection of various puppy breeds available for purchase. They emphasize sourcing from USDA-licensed breeders, with puppies often coming with health records, microchips, and initial veterinary examinations.
Health Guarantees/Support: As per Connecticut's "pet lemon law" (Sec. 22-344b), pet shops in CT are required to provide compensation or options for return/replacement if a purchased animal becomes ill or dies due to illness contracted at the shop within 20 days, or if a significant congenital defect is diagnosed within 6 months. The Puppy Palace's emphasis on vet checks and health assurances aligns with these regulations, aiming to provide customers with healthy puppies.
Financing Options: Their website mentions offering 100% financing with zero money down, aiming to make puppy ownership more accessible to a wider range of customers.
Initial Supplies: As noted by a customer, puppies are typically sent home with initial paperwork, medication (if needed, as in the case of the French Bulldog on Giardia medication), and a small bag of food to help with the transition to their new home.
Information and Guidance: While the primary focus is on sales, the staff is available to answer questions about the puppies and the purchasing process, as indicated by a positive customer experience regarding the kindness and affection shown towards the dogs.
The Puppy Palace highlights several features that they believe set them apart. It's important to consider these alongside customer experiences to get a full picture:
USDA-Licensed Breeder Sourcing: The Puppy Palace states that all their puppies come from USDA-licensed breeders, with additional certifications from reputable canine organizations. This is intended to assure customers of the puppies' origins and initial care.
State-of-the-Art Enclosures: Their website describes "Puppy Suite Enclosures" with dedicated heating, air conditioning, and filtration systems designed to reduce odors and airborne bacteria, and negative air pressurization for each enclosure to safeguard against illnesses like kennel cough. This suggests an investment in the health and comfort of the puppies while at the store.
Weekly Veterinarian Checks: The Puppy Palace emphasizes that their puppies are checked and examined weekly by a veterinarian to ensure their health before adoption.
Microchipping: All puppies include a microchip, which provides essential information about the puppy, breeder, hereditary history, and health records, offering a sense of security and traceability for new owners.
Diverse Selection of Breeds: While specific inventory varies, they offer a wide selection of breeds, catering to different preferences and family lifestyles, as evidenced by customer purchases of French Bulldogs and Yorkies.
Customer Service Focus: Despite some concerns raised in reviews, there are instances where customers highlight staff kindness and affection towards the puppies, suggesting a genuine care for the animals during the interaction and buying process.

The Puppy Palace Reviews
I ended up at Puppy Palace on a whim — the line at Chick-fil-A was too long and I had time to kill. It was a few minutes before closing, and I made eye contact with the only puppy who wasn’t sleeping. He was a little French Bulldog, sitting upright in a glass enclosure under fluorescent lights. I hadn’t planned on spending a small fortune that day, but something about him made me feel like I had to get him out of there.I’ve never bought a dog from a pet store before, and the setup was unsettling — each pup isolated in their own clear container, like displays waiting for a buyer. It didn’t feel like a place driven by a love for animals, but more by profit. The enclosures are just clean and humane enough to avoid criticism, yet clearly designed to pull on your emotions and encourage impulse buying. The Frenchie I wanted was initially unavailable due to being on Giardia medication. But once they realized I was serious about the $6K price tag, the hesitation vanished. He was brought out with paperwork, meds, and a small bag of food. I remember complaining that he smelled strongly of urine and feces — he was clearly overdue for a bath.Despite this, the woman who “sold” me the puppy and a man working behind the scenes were kind, clearly affectionate toward the dog, and made the buying process smoother. Their warmth helped ease some of my concerns. It’s been over a year now, and my dog, Mowgli, has brought me more joy than I could have imagined. Aside from one case of cherry eye (a fairly common condition in Frenchies), he’s been healthy and is truly the love of my life. I feel incredibly lucky.Still, I can’t ignore the ethical concerns. The pricing is sky-high — French Bulldogs range from $5,500 to over $12,000 — and the business model feels more about dollars than dogs. While I don’t regret rescuing Mowgli that day, I don’t think I’d ever feel good about supporting a place like this again.⸻
Jun 15, 2025 · Jules MooreOMG! The abundance of Cuteness Overload! My partner an I Just got 2 Puppy's from here an they were wonderful, although it seemed like one of the lady's who got my paper work together made a mistake an gave me 2 of the same documents for just 1 of our baby's and not the other. That threw me off a bit. But these baby's are already attached to there Mommy, which I love! My baby girl Maggie-May is already potty trained to puppy pads. I was completely shocked ! Our Lil Yorkie baby which didn't have mother or dad photos , we think he is a tea cup Yorkie because of his size for the age he is. That wasn't on his tag, it just said Yorkie. They love each other an sleep next to one another . The most cutest sight to see.I love seeing how well they take care of those baby's ! It's a must go look around/play or even to be part of the family!
Mar 22, 2025 · Nichole BessetteAnna was great , the puppy was all up to date on shots and micro chip. We brought the puppy home he is very happy.!! It is very obvious that Jett was very well taken care of while at the Puppy Palace!
Mar 22, 2025 · sue olsonA great place to have the opportunity to play, cuddle and get to know different breeds of puppies, all while potentially picking out your future fur baby. We didn’t move forward with purchasing a pup, but the experience was amazing. Great staff, clean space. Pups looked well cared for. A little on the higher end for pricing, but it looks like it’s an investment well spent, if you can afford.
Feb 09, 2025 · Kasandra StewartMy wife and I went to the puppy palace for the first time, looking at a Boston terrier puppy they had. Our experience was great, it was clean for having 10 or so dogs, the whole time we were there employees were cleaning the play area. The employee who helped us answered all our questions without a fuss. So we bought our little furry baby from them and plan on going back when we are ready for another. We came from Massachusetts and recommend buying a dog from them.Update, we have had our fur baby for over a month now and she is doing great and adjusting well. Some of the negative reviews and flat out lies are ridiculous, give this company a break.
