What Is Worth Choosing
When it comes to choosing a veterinary hospital for your beloved pet, you want a place that combines professional expertise with genuine compassion. Alamo Pet Care Hospital offers exactly that, distinguishing itself through its commitment to innovative and effective treatments. The personal stories from real customers speak volumes about the quality of care provided here. One client shared a remarkable experience with her dog, Stella, who had two torn ACLs. After two years of limping and limited success with shots, Dr. Knibb suggested electric therapy. The results were "AMAZING," with Stella now "trotting happily along," to the surprise of everyone who knew her. This story is a powerful testament to the hospital's willingness to go beyond conventional treatments and find solutions that truly improve a pet's quality of life.
Another compelling reason to choose Alamo Pet Care Hospital is their reputation for accurate, life-saving diagnoses. One customer recounted how their 14-year-old dog, Tazer, was on the brink of death after being misdiagnosed by two other local vets. Dr. Knibb's meticulous approach, which included culturing the ear infection to find the correct, custom-mixed antibiotic, saved his life. This level of attention to detail and diagnostic skill is what every pet owner hopes for in a vet, especially in a critical situation. The client also noted that the care Tazer received was better than their own experience at a human hospital, a high compliment that underscores the clinic's dedication.
Beyond the medical expertise, the financial accessibility and personal touch are what truly make Alamo Pet Care Hospital a standout choice. The absence of a "mandatory minimum bill" makes seeking help for minor issues or routine checks far less daunting. The staff's approach is both professional and friendly, creating a welcoming environment that reduces the stress for both pets and their owners. The fact that the lead vet is a fan of a book like "All Creatures Great And Small" gives a wonderful insight into her passion and philosophy—she's a true animal lover first, and an excellent medical professional second. For pet owners in California seeking a veterinary partner who is knowledgeable, compassionate, innovative, and fair, Alamo Pet Care Hospital offers a level of care that is truly exceptional and well worth choosing for your furry family member.

Alamo Pet Care Hospital Reviews
So happy to have found Dr. Knibb. Her knowledge along with her straightforward attitude are what keeps me there. With 2 torn ACL's Stella, my Pry, spent the last two years limping along with shots of Adequin, they helped for sure. Last time we were there for her shot Dr. Knibb suggested we try electric therapy and it has been AMAZING. The dog that was dragging her back legs into her bed at the end of the day is now trotting happily along, people that have known her all her life are so surprised. I tell them and now I am telling you -- alternative therapy can work. Give it a try
February 27 · catherine cartierThis vet is wonderful. She saved my dog's life after 2 other nearby vets misdiagnosed him. He had a persistent ear infection that she cultured to find the right antibiotics to treat, which was a custom mix and had to be refrigerated, but it worked and he lived, and he was not going to last another week otherwise. That's how close to death he was. I was about to give up on him (since he was old and 2 vets [1 Alamo, 1 San Ramon] were unable to help him) until my neighbor strongly encouraged me to try Alamo Pet Care Hospital. Honestly, she gave my dog (Tazer, a 14yo Springer Spaniel) much better care than I get at Kaiser; it took me 4 visits to Kaiser before they actually did the proper thing and cultured my throat infection. She's a lot cheaper than Kaiser, too. Which brings me to another point, which is that I can take my dog in without getting the mandatory $300 minimum bill I got at the other vets (who were unable to treat him). Also, she read All Creatures Great And Small and loved it. How could she not be a good vet?
June 11 · Brian BushnellWe were headed south to Walnut Creek when our maltichon started having issues. She was not breathing and was not responding. We darted off the interstate, looked up a vet and quickly ended up here. They were awesome and saved our Stella.
May 04 · Ron BakerUpdated review: While our dog was healthy, this place was fine. Maybe we just didn't know any better though. The. Our dog was diagnosed with bone cancer, and required to have his leg amputated. It was a tough diagnosis to receive, and at first the Vet seemed great. She explained the process and the cost, and we were ready to move forward. That's when things went sideways. First she said we had to wait 2 weeks to make an appointment for a final scan. We called to make the appointment a week later and we're told they would call us the following week to book. Then they called asking if we were going to move forward and said we were supposed to book the appointment already. Then that we had to go in the next day because the Vet was going to be out. They demanded a decision with 24 hours on everything - which, while we were ready to make, it was a flag that they were disorganized with the process and gave us conflicting information. They were also upset when we said we wanted a second opinion. We ended up moving to another Vet in Lafayette. That's when we realized how bad the Alamo Vet Hospital actually was. Relative to the new vet, the Alamo Vet Hospital is dirty, smells, disorganized, and provides zero information. We didn't know what we didn't know...but I cannot in good conscience recommend this business knowing what I know know.
July 05 · Cheryl HagaUnprofessionaal and rude team! For a simple cat eye infection, the doctor prescribed HIV, CANCER and Corona tests for $500!!!!While my kitty got well only with an antibiotic ointment within 24h!
