★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My Buddy had a bad ear infection. When I dropped him off I was treated with respect and kindness as was my dog. They kept me posted throughout the day. This clinic will be a keeper, I will be replacing my vet in Concord. Do not judge a book by it's cover here. I have been to fancy places where all you do is pay for their pretentious art work and location.
June 07 · Tami McCormickMy senior Pomeranian gets very anxious at the vet, but the team here was so patient, gentle, and understanding. They adjusted the visit to her needs and made her feel safe the whole time. Truly compassionate care - thank you!
August 13 · ChaThis is the second bad experience I've had at this vet hospital, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I brought my 11-year-old husky in with a painful lump under her lower jaw. The vet said it could be an infection or a tumor, and told me to monitor her for a week, then return for a biopsy and X-rays if it worsened. It did.I left a voicemail clearly stating I was calling to schedule the biopsy and X-rays per the vet's recommendation. No one called back -- frustrating, but I followed up and got in touch with Stefanie at the front desk. She confirmed she saw the notes and scheduled me with a relief vet, I even confirmed it would be for a biopsy and X-rays. I assumed everything was in order. When I arrived, the vet performed an entirely new exam and informed me they could not do the X-rays there and would need to refer me to a dental specialist. I asked why I was booked if the procedure couldn't be done -- the vet didn't have an answer although she was very kind. That moment was terrifying. Another week of delay when I'm trying to get answers about what could potentially be mouth cancer in my senior dog, who's already at higher risk with anesthesia. When the vet left, a front desk employee came in, handed me a bill, and two phone numbers to call for specialists. I asked why I was being charged another exam fee when this visit was a direct follow-up. Her answer? "It's a re-exam, not an exam." So, ~$10 less for the exact same process I just paid for a week ago...semantics.There was no empathy. No apology. No sense of urgency or compassion for a clearly distressed pet parent trying to advocate for their dog. It's been two weeks, I'm a couple hundred dollars short, and my husky still hasn't received the care she needs -- let alone a diagnosis. The worst part? From Room 1, you can hear everything the staff is saying about you at the front. The lack of discretion and respect is appalling. As someone who works in acute healthcare, I'm genuinely shocked by how dismissive and transactional the experience was. A simple "We're sorry, this shouldn't have happened -- let us make it right" would have gone a long way. But instead, I got silence, confusion, and another bill. This place has failed my pet twice now -- and for the same reasons: lack of follow-through, misleading scheduling, and zero compassion. I won't be coming back.
June 29 · Christina SchubertVery friendly staff. Plus, my kitty seemed very comfortable with them. 😊
March 11 · Jason SteinI've been holding off on reviewing because I really wanted to experience the staff for more than a year, after moving cross country and living here in the bay for a little over 3 years, I obviously can't compare this vet clinic to others because Ygnacio Animal Hospital is literally the only one I've been to.I'll start off with the only con, the price, I can't really compare to other vets as I mentioned for reasons above but it does hurt the bank a bit whenever I've had to take Kupa in for constant ear infections (Schnauzer Mom!) but on a personal perspective I have pet insurance so I'm still good on that area, but I will agree, the prices do hurt that wallet! However, the pros (in my experience and perspective) top that con, the staff is always nice, very flexible with scheduling appointments and whenever I take Kupa in they answer all my questions and are very gentle with him (don't let his cries fool you, my dog is always dramatic)I've yet to have a bad experience with them, they're great, if things go south I'll obviously update this review but I hope it never ends up that way. This vet clinic and their staff are great and I love how attentive they are and aren't dismissive of anything and I hope I can still continue to rely on them for my dog's care and needs for years to come!
