What makes Aliso Niguel Animal Hospital a great choice for California pet owners is their holistic approach to animal wellness. They don't just treat symptoms; they look at the whole picture to provide lasting health solutions. This dedication is evident in the positive outcomes experienced by many long-term patients. For example, one client with a Belgian Malinois shared how the hospital finally resolved their dog’s lifelong GI issues, leading to significant weight gain and improved health. They also praised the hospital’s efficiency in handling procedures like mass removal and their assistance with pet insurance reimbursement, highlighting the seamless experience. Another review from a pet owner highlights the compassionate and capable nature of the staff, noting their ability to handle a large, high-energy dog with care and expertise, making a vet visit a positive experience for both the pet and the owner. This level of positive feedback speaks volumes about the quality of care and the professionalism of the team.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of a mixed bag of experiences. While many pet owners have had wonderful visits, some have reported long wait times and issues with communication, particularly when pets are left unattended for extended periods. One user shared a very stressful experience where their cat, who was dropped off in a calm state, became severely distressed after a long wait and a lack of proper calming mechanisms. This particular review serves as a reminder to always communicate your concerns and expectations clearly with the staff, especially if your pet has a history of anxiety or stress in new environments. It highlights the importance of being present during appointments if possible, or ensuring you have a clear understanding of the care plan before leaving your pet. Despite this, the overwhelming majority of reviews praise the hospital’s advanced capabilities, compassionate service, and dedication to their patients’ long-term health, cementing its reputation as a reliable and expert choice for veterinary care in the California region.
In summary, Aliso Niguel Animal Hospital stands out as a dedicated and well-equipped facility for all your pet's healthcare needs. Their broad range of services, from preventative wellness to advanced surgery, combined with a compassionate and accessible approach, makes them a valuable resource for pet owners in Laguna Niguel and beyond. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I dropped off my cat in a calm state. They told me they would be able to see her in the next 2 hours. Practically 4 hours went by and she had not been seen. I get a call from someone who sounded like an assistant of some sort who I later find out is a Vet (Gohart) there that they can't evaluate my Cat because she is very upset. I asked to speak with the owner but she was not available.Be very careful about leaving your animal with this clinic if you are not there. They do not have the mechanism in place to keep your animal calm and will cause severe anxiety and upset to the animal. I have never ever seen my cat in the state that i saw her in when i went to pick her up. It was a level of threat and upset that i have never ever seen before. It seemed like she was fighting for her life basically. I don't know what they did to her for her to get to that point but do not leave your animal with them.
April 07 · Ellie SThe staff and doctor are amazing. My belgian Malinois has had GI issues through his lifetime that this vet was finally able to resolve. 2 1/2 years into being a patient at Aliso Niguel animal hospital & our Atlas has gained weight and we have gained confidence in his health. Recently Atlas had some spots appear on his eye and a bump appear near his spine along with a cyst that needed draining. They were able to get him in and lightly sedate him and handle all of the necessary procedures while removing the small mass and sending it to the lab for biopsy. The compassion and capabilities of Aliso Niguel animal Hospital speak for them self. This vet does not sell you and they always take great care and handling all of my invoices and bills so that our pet insurance reimburses us immediately. I couldn’t be more grateful to have found this vet. I highly recommend them, even if you have a 78 lbs crazy dog 😆🫶
February 07 · Alyssa FlynnNEVER and I mean NEVER Take your dog/animal here. I recently moved to the area and needed to establish care somewhere close to my house. This seemed like the best option, but unfortunately, I ignored the red flags. They charged me $70ish dollars to hold my appointment (which I’ve never heard of), This was the first red flag.Once I got to the vet with my dog, I explained to them that all she needs is one Shot a month for her arthritis and she takes medicine every morning (which is in her medical chart). The female veterinarian who assisted me didn’t even check my dogs joints, even knowing she has arthritis, which my previous vet did every month to check the severity and progress of this incurable condition (second red flag).Instead, she proceeded to try to convince me to break the bank and get her teeth cleaned, which no other vet has recommended before because I brush her teeth every day and get them professionally cleaned once a month. Then she convinced me to let them do a blood test on my dog even knowing she wasn’t due for one, while they were giving her arthritis vaccine. My dog was in the back for 15 minutes scream crying in fear and pain the entire time. It got so bad that I had to demand to see my dog. No one would let me know what was happening and everyone in the lobby seemed very worried and confused. Keep in mind my dog goes to the vet every month and this is never been an issue.Once my dog and I were reunited, she had Band-Aids on all four of her legs (which I have never seen before), They were only supposed to do a simple blood test and one shot in the shoulder. They TRAUMATIZED my dog TO THE POINT WHERE SHE WOULDN’T EVEN FINISH HER FOOD FOR TWO WEEKS FOLLOWING THE APPOINTMENT! My dog has not been the same since and the poor baby has been crying every day since her appointment in early October. My dogs last vet is called All Creatures Care Cottage in Costa Mesa, Where she was diagnosed with arthritis. I brought her there today, And they diagnosed her with early onset “doggy dementia” caused by the trauma she endured from this Vet. they did another round of bloodwork and gave her her shot. She didn’t cry once. Something is very wrong with Aliso Niguel Animal Hospital.I cannot believe they have four stars. And after talking to my new neighbors here there’s many cases of malpractice at this vet.DO NOT GO HERE!!!I am speaking to my lawyers and will be perusing legal actions because of how badly they traumatized my poor 9 year old dog.I’m only here to spread awareness about how horrible they treated my animal and to warn others so their precious animals don’t have to go through wet minded.
November 12 · Adare O'NeillDr. Tuz and the entire staff are amazing. They get to know the dog and family and provide personal attention. I’ve always been able to get an appointment without waiting too long. I also appreciate the conservative approach and never feel they are just trying g to get my money. Hopefully, he won’t swallow anymore socks!
September 29 · Donna D'OttavioWorst Experience Ever- Lab work took a week after telling me they'd have skin sample lab work in 3 days to determine after telling them my wife is pregnant and that my cats may have ringworm.- I had to treat the cats myself with ear mite meds since they had symptoms for weeks and I still hadn't gotten any results other than ringworm. My poor babies were crying and were in distress while I was giving drops. Turns out that my cat was tested for ear mites, etc. on the day of my appointment but the results weren't communicated to me.- After paying almost $500 and having no solution, they asked me to bring the cats in again- They called me 2 hours before my appointment claiming I was a no show and that they left a message. They then said I'd have to schedule a different day even though my wife had taken time off of work to bring the cats in. If I had at least received an email confirming my appointment, I would've caught the error but I did not bother to listen through a general voicemail that transcribed to say "confirming your appointment for tomorrow..."- I decided to take my cats somewhere else and requested medical records but they did not provide them. I called the following day and they said that they had no doctors in the office for another 2 days and wouldn't be able to provide me with medical records essentially blocking me from taking my cats elsewhere. They even mentioned that a note had been placed on the doctors desk the day prior. This is the primary reason I'm leaving this review. Withholding medical records just to attempt to keep business makes me sick.
