re: Animal Health Center of Land O' LakesUpdate 7/21 @ 3:26pm: The person who replied to my review cannot take my call. They said she is working out of the office and Chantel doesnt know where to direct me. Same song as the notes. Pretty pathetic that you even replied at all. I'll be contacting the news station instead to raise awareness of your facility alongside the American Veterinary Group, LLC.Update 7/21 @ 3:18pm : CALLING THE OWNER AS DIRECTED BY THE RESPONSE. LETS SEE!This facility should be shut down. Gave our cat a diabetic diagnosis and have been in limbo since, for 2 whole weeks, UNTREATED. When we call for an update, they dont have any answers "because they dont see any notes" which I assumed is a part of a front office staffs job description? She also said I "would be called by the supervisor at her earliest convivence" as if my CATS HEALTH is at THEIR convivence!!!! "Ultimately fatal: If left untreated, diabetes will cause cats to suffer, and it is ultimately fatal. "Was spoken to rudely by Teresa and Chantel for asking them to do their jobs. Asked for corporate number and Teresa's response immediately that "all calls are recorded" well great for me, not so much for you! Although Thank god SOMETHING is recorded since your patient notes are NOT! Put me on hold for over 3 min to find the corporate number which went directly to a voicemail anyways. This place is SHAMEFUL and should not be open at all due to broken systems, lack of care, and people who just do not know how or want to do their jobs. Bunch of losers if you ask me! - b

American Veterinary Group, LLC Introduce

For veterinarians, practice owners, and even concerned pet parents in Florida, understanding the landscape of veterinary care extends beyond individual clinics to the corporate entities that often support or own them. This guide focuses on **American Veterinary Group, LLC**, a corporate office based in Tampa, FL. Unlike a direct veterinary hospital that treats animals, American Veterinary Group (AVG) operates as a partner and acquirer of veterinary practices, aiming to provide administrative and operational support to clinics, allowing veterinarians to focus on patient care.

Founded by veterinarians in 2015, AVG's mission is to build a family of hospitals committed to putting people and their pets first. They seek partnerships with practices that align with their values of relationship-based care and clinical excellence. For Florida residents, it's important to understand the role of such corporate entities in the local veterinary ecosystem, particularly how they influence the management and standards of the clinics they partner with. This overview will delve into AVG's corporate office location, its core business model, and what factors might be relevant to local users considering the broader implications of corporate-backed veterinary care.

Location and Accessibility

The corporate office of American Veterinary Group, LLC is located at **4301 Anchor Plaza Pkwy # 350, Tampa, FL 33634, USA**. This address places the company within a commercial hub in Tampa, a strategically important city in Florida for business operations. Anchor Plaza Parkway is accessible via major roadways, making the office relatively convenient for business partners, potential new practices, and employees to reach.

For those in Florida seeking to engage with AVG in a professional capacity, whether it's a practice owner considering a partnership or a veterinary professional exploring career opportunities, the central location in Tampa offers practical accessibility. While this is not a public-facing veterinary clinic for pet treatments, its accessibility as a corporate headquarters is important for its operational efficiency and ability to manage its network of partner hospitals across the region. The presence of such a corporate entity in Tampa underscores Florida's growing significance in the veterinary services industry.

Services Offered

American Veterinary Group, LLC, as a corporate entity, does not directly offer veterinary services to pets. Instead, their "services" are geared towards supporting and partnering with existing veterinary practices. Their core business model revolves around:

  • Veterinary Practice Acquisition and Partnership: AVG acquires and partners with established veterinary hospitals. They aim to nurture the long-term growth of these partner hospitals while allowing them to maintain their unique identity and local brand.
  • Administrative and Operational Support: They provide a range of administrative functions to their partner clinics. This often includes finance and accounting, marketing, legal, payroll, and human resources support. The goal is to alleviate the administrative burden on veterinarians and clinic staff, allowing them to focus primarily on clinical care.
  • Investment in Clinic Development: AVG states they invest in the team's development and further expand the legacy of the practices they acquire. This can involve resources for staff training, technology upgrades, and facility improvements.
  • Leadership and Business Guidance: Their leadership team brings collective experience in various aspects of the veterinary industry, including clinical, marketing, hospital operations, recruiting, and human resources, offering guidance to their partner practices. They host summits for practice managers to foster professional growth and networking.
  • Support for Veterinarian Focus: By handling the business aspects, AVG's stated aim is to give practice owners and veterinary professionals the "freedom to do what you love – care for pets!"

It's important for pet owners to understand that their direct interaction regarding pet health will be with the individual veterinary clinics partnered with AVG, rather than the corporate office itself.

Features / Highlights

American Veterinary Group, LLC, as a corporate entity managing a network of veterinary hospitals, has several notable features and highlights, though some aspects have also drawn criticism, which is important for Florida locals to understand:

  • Veterinarian-Founded: AVG was founded by veterinarians in 2015, suggesting an understanding of the clinical side of the business and a stated commitment to "putting people and the pets they love first."
  • Focus on Partnership, Not Corporate "Stamp": AVG claims to treat hospitals in their network as partners, striving not to "put a corporate 'stamp' on the business" and aiming to protect the unique identity and local brand of the acquired practices.
  • Comprehensive Business Support: They provide extensive support in areas like HR, finance, and operations, designed to allow clinic staff to concentrate on clinical care without the distractions of managing business complexities.
  • Commitment to Staff Development: AVG emphasizes investing in the team's development within their partner hospitals, including leadership training and professional growth opportunities for practice managers.
  • Geographic Proximity to Network: Being based in Tampa, AVG is geographically close to its network of hospitals throughout the South, aiming to be readily available to their partners.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge that some customer and former staff reviews related to specific clinics under AVG's ownership raise significant concerns. These include:

  • Allegations of Profit Over Pet Care: A former staff member claims AVG "only care about profit and not pet care," advising to "stay away from ANY corporate own clinic especially this one."
  • Issues with Patient Communication and Record Keeping: A detailed review highlights severe problems at a partner clinic (Animal Health Center of Land O' Lakes), citing "broken systems, lack of care," missing "notes," and rudeness from front office staff regarding a critically ill cat.
  • Challenges with Corporate Response: The same review details difficulties in reaching a responsive corporate contact, with calls directed to voicemail and an inability to connect with the person who replied to the initial review.

These points of feedback are critical for pet owners to consider when evaluating clinics that are part of a larger corporate group.

Conclusion: Why This Place Is Suitable for Locals

For pet owners and veterinary professionals in the Florida region, particularly in Tampa and surrounding areas, understanding the role of corporate entities like American Veterinary Group, LLC is increasingly relevant. Located at 4301 Anchor Plaza Pkwy # 350, Tampa, FL 33634, USA, AVG serves as a corporate headquarters that acquires and supports veterinary practices, rather than directly providing pet care.

From the perspective of a local Florida resident, AVG's suitability hinges on how its corporate support translates to the quality of care at its partner clinics. On one hand, AVG's stated mission, founded by veterinarians, aims to provide robust administrative and operational backing, theoretically allowing local clinics to focus more on clinical excellence. They invest in staff development and strive to maintain the unique identities of the practices they acquire. This could be beneficial for practices seeking to offload business burdens and for their staff to receive professional growth opportunities.

However, it is crucial for local pet owners to be aware of the direct feedback from clients and former staff regarding clinics within AVG's network. Concerns about patient note-keeping, rude staff interactions, delayed care for critical cases, and a perceived focus on profit over pet welfare have been raised. These critical reviews suggest that while the corporate structure may offer efficiencies, the on-the-ground experience at individual clinics can vary significantly. Therefore, for Florida locals considering a veterinary clinic that is part of the American Veterinary Group network, it is highly recommended to research the specific clinic thoroughly, read recent local reviews for that individual practice, and discuss any concerns directly with the clinic's management to ensure it aligns with their expectations for compassionate and high-quality pet care.
