Animal Care Hospital of Phoenix Reviews
Dr. Maddy (and Courtney!), you are so good at what you do. Thank you for showing our anxious dog so much compassion and patience. Despite how squirmy she can get at the vet, you met her (and us) where we were at and took the best care of her. We’re so thankful for people like you.
Jul 16, 2025 · Eunice BeckWe recently brought our 1-year-old pup, Lady-Bug, to Animal Care Hospital for treatment, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the outstanding care she received. Dr. Temple was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough. She took the time to explain everything to us and made sure we felt informed and reassured throughout Lady-Bug’s treatment.Ann, the office manager, was so kind and helpful, and the front desk staff made check-in and scheduling a breeze. The medical staff were amazing—gentle, attentive, and truly caring. Everyone went above and beyond to make Lady-Bug feel safe and loved, and to support us as concerned pet parents.Thank you to the entire team at Animal Care Hospital for taking such wonderful care of Lady-Bug. We are so thankful and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care!

Feb 21, 2025 · Lydia ANot as Advertised---this vet is NOT fear freeI’m deeply disappointed by the treatment my dog received at this clinic, especially given their claim of being a “Fear Free” facility. Our experience was anything but.Despite my dog showing clear signs of fear—trembling, hiding, and cowering—staff made no effort to use fear-free techniques. Instead, they forcibly dragged her out from under a bench and pinned her down multiple times during the exam. No calming tools, no treats, no toys—none of the strategies they advertise on their website were used. When I expressed concern that their handling was escalating her fear, I was told to medicate her for future visits. While medication can be helpful in some cases, it was offered here in place of the basic compassion and low-stress handling they claim to provide. What makes this worse is that my dog is not generally fearful at the vet. She showed mild stress at her first visit to a previous clinic, which was quickly eased by the gentle, respectful treatment she received there. After that, she was genuinely happy to go back. So I know how different this experience could have been. This visit caused her real emotional distress and left me shaken. I trusted this clinic with her care based on their marketing and mission, and that trust was broken.“Fear Free” should be more than a label—it should be a standard. Unfortunately, that standard was not upheld here.
