★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband I were driving down to Florida, staying in Effingham about an hour and 45 minutes away when my dog developed bloat which is deadly if not treated quickly. We called ahead and explained the situation, they were ready and prepared for him when we walked in the door.Dr. Myers did his surgery and called us with updates that night and the following morning. She’s a spectacular doctor, she saved our guy when his prognosis wasn’t looking good.We stayed in the area for 5 days following his surgery, all the staff were so kind and accommodating letting us come visit and even try to feed him and take him on potty breaks. If you live in Springfield you’re lucky to have this clinic close by for your fur babies. 12/10 would recommend.
May 18 · Ashley RoseOutstanding Care and CompassionI can’t say enough great things about Emergency Animal Clinic. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us with warmth, urgency, and genuine compassion. When our dog had a sudden medical emergency. The front desk team was efficient and empathetic, clearly understanding the stress pet owners feel in crisis situations. The veterinary team was thorough in explaining our pet’s condition, walking us through every step of the treatment plan without overwhelming us with medical jargon. They took amazing care of our dog and kept us updated with regular check-ins!What really stood out was how much they truly care. It wasn’t just a job for them—it was clear they love animals and want the best outcome for every pet that walks through their doors. Thanks to their quick intervention and expertise, our dog is now back home and recovering well. We are so grateful to have this level of emergency care available in our community. If you ever find yourself needing urgent care for your pet, I would trust Emergency Animal Clinic without hesitation.
August 01 · Emily ReneaDr Minder was very compassionate with us when we brought in our 19 year old cat, Dusty. He provided us with information in a way that was easy to understand and provided in a kind way.The kindness and compassion of both Dr Minder and the rest of the staff at Animal Emergency Clinic were and still are greatly appreciated. It was truly helpful to be told that we had not failed our sweet old boy, and reminded that with old age comes the failure of the body.Thank you.I didn't take any photos while there, but here is a picture of that sweet old boy.
March 27 · Maimi BoucherMy cat just had 9 kittens. Then two days later when I woke up I noticed she was acting weird. Crawling not walking. Then she started having a seizure. We immediately called the "emergency vet" and took her in to be seen before 8am so it was $130 just to be seen by the "Vet". As soon as we got there I told them she was having a seizure and they immediately took her back in a room. Moments later we were directed to have a seat in a separate room away from our cat. She stated she put an IV in her but need blood work done. They offered two different prices $85 for the two things she wanted to check for the most (Calcium and Infection) or a complete panel was $230 which would tell her if her organs was working properly."Veterinarian" came in again and said that she had an infection from giving birth and became septic. She stated she would need to be on a 12 hour watch with medicine and IV. They quoted me slightly over $1200 but it was a 20-30% chance she would even make it. I didn't have $1200 at the moment so I asked about making payments on a portion of it and they stated they don't do that. Instead they told me about the credit card they were advertising in the room. We were given time to think about it.Moments later this "Veterinarian" came in the room and said my cat had went into cardiac arrest and asked if I wanted them to do CPR. In a traumatic, upset state I immediately said yes. We were then told she didn't make it. We had time to hold her before they put her in a bag for me to take her home. Now we were faced with taking care of multiple kittens with no mother. I asked if they had a bottle to feed the kittens and they replied "yes, we can get you one".However, when it was time to check out I was charged $134 for an Emergency Exam After Midnight, $55 for a CBC lab, $30 for Calcium lab, $138 for CPR and $10 for a bottle (to feed the kittens).I stated isn't it crazy i walked in with a live cat but now im leaving with a dead one and almost $400 for what? My cat was active last night, taking care of her babies and acting normal. They asked no questions on if we needed help taking care of her babies or nothing. Just money driven. I would NOT recommend!!!
August 24 · Stephaine STook my cat in for a suspected bowel obstruction and was seen promptly. Front desk staff and techs were kind and the vet was realistic about options and explaining test results. Staff was also up front about pricing throughout the whole visit. Will hopefully never have to return (fingers crossed) but I would come back here for an emergency and recommend others to do so.
