Animal Rescue Veterinary Services (ARVS) is primarily focused on a specific and crucial area of veterinary care: providing high-quality, affordable spay and neuter services. While they are not a full-service comprehensive clinic offering extensive general wellness or emergency care, their specialization allows them to be highly efficient and effective in their core mission. They extend their services to healthy dogs, cats, and rabbits, typically under five to six years of age.
- Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Surgeries: This is the cornerstone of their offerings. They perform essential surgical sterilization for both male and female dogs, cats, and rabbits. This service is critical for controlling pet overpopulation and preventing unwanted litters.
- Pre- and Post-Surgical Care: While focusing on spay/neuter, they ensure proper protocols for pre-surgery preparation and provide clear instructions and support for post-operative recovery, as highlighted by customer testimonials.
- Pain Medications: Pets undergoing surgery receive necessary pain management to ensure their comfort during and after the procedure.
- Basic Preventative Treatments (often included): Their spay/neuter packages often include essential preventative measures such as rabies and distemper vaccinations, as well as treatment for fleas and ear mites, adding significant value and convenience for pet owners.
- Nail Trimming: As part of their comprehensive surgical package, they often include nail clipping, ensuring a more complete service for the pet's well-being.
- Services for Rescue Groups: A significant part of their mission is to provide cost-effective veterinary services to non-profit animal rescue groups, helping these organizations prepare adoptable animals for their forever homes.
- Feral and Stray Cat Services: They offer free spay and neuter services monthly for trapped feral and stray cats, playing a direct role in reducing the suffering of homeless cat populations through population control.
- Financial Assistance Programs: Through initiatives like The Ethel Brant Memorial Fund, they are able to subsidize cat surgeries for those who can demonstrate financial need, further expanding accessibility to essential care.
Animal Rescue Veterinary Services (ARVS) distinguishes itself in the New Hampshire veterinary landscape through several key features and highlights, most notably its unwavering commitment to affordability, compassionate service, and its vital role in the community.
- Mission-Driven Approach: ARVS's core mission is explicitly "to end companion animal over-population by offering quality, low cost spay and neuter services to the public and area animal shelters and provide free spay and neuter services monthly for trapped feral and stray cats." This clear focus on a critical public health and animal welfare issue underpins all their operations.
- Exceptional Value and Fair Pricing: Multiple customer reviews emphatically highlight the "more than fair" and "very fair pricing" offered by ARVS. Clients appreciate that the clinic "does not price gouge" despite offering excellent service. This commitment to affordability makes essential surgeries accessible to a broader range of pet owners and rescue organizations.

The team is described as "warmly attentive and very caring," demonstrating genuine compassion, even during potentially stressful surgical experiences for pets and their owners.

- Transparency: One review noted "complete transparency, nothing hidden," which builds trust and reassures pet owners about the procedures and costs involved.
- Support for Animal Rescue Community: ARVS is a crucial partner for numerous rescue leagues and non-profit animal welfare groups, providing affordable medical care that enables these organizations to save and rehome countless animals.
- Specialization in Spay/Neuter: By focusing primarily on sterilization, ARVS can streamline its processes, maintain high surgical standards, and achieve greater efficiency, passing those benefits on to clients through lower costs.

Feb 25, 2023 · KeepNitRealGf™ Joyce Ella Paquin (Landry)Brought my cat there had a great experience. Staff was nice and professional very affordable. Highly recommend.
Mar 06, 2025 · Jake HerbertI was glad to finally find somewhere to get my cat fixed at an affordable price. The only part that sucked was the fact I had to come from out of state so I was told she would be one of the first ones to get an early release. Despite 2 or 3 people knowing that, I called 4 hours later thinking she would be or almost be done. Then I was told they basically forgot and were so sorry and that they would do her next so it would be another 2 or 3 hours. I was an hour away from home with nowhere to go while she was having surgery and ended up at a park outside for 6 hours in the heat.Despite being stuck in another state waiting at a park, they did really good with her surgery and were friendly.
