Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Sacramento, California, navigating the landscape of veterinary care options is a crucial part of ensuring their beloved companions lead healthy and happy lives. Banfield Pet Hospital, located on Truxel Road, is one such option available within the larger Banfield network, offering a range of services for dogs and cats. This article provides an overview of this specific Banfield location, detailing its services, accessibility, and insights from local pet owners, to help you make an informed decision for your furry family members.
Banfield Pet Hospital operates as part of a large national chain, which can offer benefits such as standardized protocols and access to a wide network of veterinary professionals and resources. This particular Sacramento location aims to provide general veterinary care, focusing on preventive measures, diagnostics, and treatment for common pet ailments. They emphasize a commitment to pet wellness, striving to offer care that supports the long-term health of animals.
However, it's important for prospective clients to be aware of varied experiences reported by existing customers. One detailed account from a pet owner brought in two one-year-old kittens, one with diarrhea. This individual reported dissatisfaction due to a series of issues: the inability to vaccinate the kitten with diarrhea, a delayed and unsolicited fecal test result (a "no news is good news" policy they were not informed of), leading to unnecessary antibiotic use for their cat who still had diarrhea. Furthermore, there were issues with receiving a rabies certificate for the vaccinated cat and a lack of clear communication regarding the necessity of future vaccinations for the healthy cat. This led to unanticipated additional appointments, significant monetary expenditure ($330 for one vaccine, unnecessary antibiotics, and a fecal test with unreturned results), and a strong recommendation to seek veterinary care elsewhere, especially for pets not in perfect health. This experience highlights potential challenges with communication, follow-up, and perceived value for money.
Conversely, another client reported an "Excellent care" experience for their animals, even noting the ease of transferring care between different Banfield locations. This positive feedback suggests that for some pet owners, the Banfield system works well, providing consistent quality across its various branches and simplifying the process for multi-location care needs. These contrasting reviews underscore that individual experiences can vary significantly and that clear communication and understanding of policies are vital.

Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
Took in two, 1year old kittens one with diarrhea. They wouldn't vaccinate the one with diarrhea, they sent out a fecal test and gave me antibiotics to treat a possible infection two weeks later I had to call to get test results no one followed up. My cat still has diarrhea, the test results were "negative" and I feel like I medicated my cat for no reason. And I still need to get her vaccinated! I won't be taking my girls back and unless you have healthy pets consider another vet. They also never gave me the rabies certificate for the cat they did vaccinate so l have to go back for that.ETA:The care team put me in contact with the site manager where I learned that the vet was supposed to have reached out to me after the appointment and never did. And that with the fecal tests they have a “no news is good news” policy that they didn’t inform me that a negative result meant they wouldn’t call me when my cats were discharged. I also discovered they never administered a rabies vaccine to the healthy cat because her rabies didn’t expire for another 2 months (this part isn’t their fault) and they didn’t inform me because the system won’t flag it as a necessary vaccine until 4weeks before it was due. (But I was suppose to make an appointment in2 weeks for the other cat to get her vaccines no mention of needing to get rabies for healthy cat this year) So now both of my cats will need more appointments that I was not anticipating. Huge waste of my time/money. Paid over $330 for 1 vaccine, antibiotics my cat didn’t need, a fecal test they didn’t even return results on, and no effort for long term care (future vaccines, follow up on health) learn from my mistake go somewhere else.

Jun 13, 2025 · paul cToo expensive. Nice staff. Want you to buy unnecessary treatments and the cost is too much. But that is the case with every vet.
Mar 22, 2025 · Arnold ConwayWe feel so blessed to take our dogs to this particular Banfield hospital in Natomas and we have been doing it for years. The staff are amazing and very kind and so caring. We have a great bond with the staff. That is why I am so shocked by some of these negative reviews. Dr. Yu is an excellent Dr. and yes, makes sure she rules out any issues before treating a dog. A Doctor like her is responsible and extremely professional and would never do guess work just because someone thinks they know better than her or the person doesn’t want to take accountability and pay for tests for his/her pet. I thank Dr. Maldonado as well. Super smart and always provides you with the much needed information to inform you comprehensively. I thank all of you at Banfield on Truxel. I will continue to take our dogs there for years to come. DA.
Oct 15, 2024 · Leslie P.This place needs to be closed down!!!Do not bring your pet here…. The staff is rude and VERY unprofessional. My first visit there I had to WALK OUT due to VA Dr Suetching Yu. She refused to even come look at my dog until $500 worth of test were given. She intentionally pushed to overcharge for test that were not needed and proceeded to gossip about my puppy from behind the door loudly- cracking jokes about his anxiety and that poodles “have a short life span anyway so they won’t live that long” Just absolutely disgusting behavior and I have filed a complaint with the California Vet Medical Board. She should NOT be seeing people’s animals- just lazy and unethical behavior. Do not damage your pet by taking them here- they need to be shut down.
