Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
When seeking quality veterinary care for your beloved cat or dog in the Wentzville, Missouri area, Banfield Pet Hospital offers a wide spectrum of services designed to support your pet's health across all stages of life. Located conveniently on Wentzville Parkway, this animal hospital is part of a large, dedicated network of veterinary clinics that prioritize preventive health care and responsible pet ownership.
Banfield Pet Hospital in Wentzville operates as a full-service medical facility, equipped to handle everything from routine vaccinations and microchipping to complex diagnostic work and general surgical procedures. Their approach is centered around creating a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for your pet, combining general services with advanced capabilities like digital radiography and ultrasonography. The team of veterinarians and support staff is focused on promoting a better, healthier world for pets by emphasizing routine care and early detection of potential health issues.
A significant feature of the Banfield model is the availability of their Optimum Wellness Plans® (OWP), which are fixed-cost packages of preventive care services designed to make routine pet health management more affordable and predictable. These plans often include unlimited office visits, vaccinations, and other essential services. However, local Missouri pet owners are strongly encouraged to review the terms of any plan, especially the cancellation policy, as there have been reports from customers regarding unexpected costs when terminating the annual contract early. For example, one former client shared concerns about the OWP being a contract where early cancellation required backpaying the full retail price of used services.
It is important to note that while the hospital strives for excellence in medical care, some customers have reported communication and scheduling issues, such as difficulties with phone contact or unexpected appointment cancellations. These experiences highlight the importance of clear communication with the staff to ensure seamless service. Despite these occasional challenges, Banfield Pet Hospital in Wentzville remains a prominent option for Missouri families seeking convenient and comprehensive veterinary services backed by a wide national network.

For Missouri residents in the Wentzville area, Banfield Pet Hospital is worth considering primarily for its convenience and structured, cost-management approach to preventive care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Horrible scammers. Do not sign up for the monthly wellness plan at Banfield without reading the fine print. I signed up KNOWING I wouldn’t be living locally for the entire year. Before signing I specifically asked the front desk if this was a contract. She said no… I told her my entire situation. They reassured me. I trusted them and signed. 3 months later, I called to cancel my membership and was told I would have to backpay the full retail price for all services used. So it IS a contract. Customer service was terrible. I went in person and the lady had an attitude and unwilling to help. In general I don’t recommend their veterinary services. But now I definitely don’t. Go to a local mom and pops vet! May 20 · Lauren Malik
- Do not use this place. Tried calling and leaving messages for weeks to make an appointment, no one ever answered or called back. My wife finally made an appointment in person. When the day of the appointment came, we tried to drop our dogs off only to be told by petsmart staff that the vet was closed that day. No one bothered to call and let us know the appointment was canceled. Absolutely useless "vet." May 06 · Brian Mann
- I took both of my dogs in for their wellness checkups and the vet did a thorough exam to find lumps on both dogs. We have found out since then that one dog has a lipoma and recommended surgery to have the tumor removed and tested for the other dog. The care that is shown for both of my animals is amazing and I wouldn't of even known about the lipoma/tumors if Dr. Sheffield did not do a thorough exam.Thank you! March 03 · Melissa Vaughan
- They killed my puppy. I got a puppy on Sunday September 3rd and got her into the vet on Tuesday September 5th. She tested negative for parvo, heart and lungs sounded good per the vet. The vet said she was 6 to 7 weeks old and that she was underweight and had worms. They dewormed her and she threw up within an hour. I called the vet because I was told to call if she vomits. They said she would have them coming from both ends over the next few days. She threw up again last night. I cleaned her up and her kennel, well this morning Wed the 6th she was gone. I pd 169.21 and to cancel my plan they want an additional 200.93 for services provided yesterday. the only service provided was a dewormer overdose and a dead puppy less than 24 hours later. I will post the video from today on social media if this isn't resolved, thankfully my brother works for a HUGE advertising company. Stay away! A local competitor would have cost 185 and they want 370. RIP Angel September 06 · Wally
- Worst experience ever. My dog is 5 and is the most laid back easy going, and loving boy you’ll ever meet. This place does not know how to handle pets with care. My pup was terrified when he left, had an open wound in his Nose and a huge lump on his nose too…. Save yourself the time and trouble. Go somewhere else.. January 01 · cameron brodrick
