BluePearl Pet Hospital Reviews
I took my kitten here for an emergency vet visit after being sent by another vet clinic, as the issue was something seriously outside the scope of a normal vet clinic. It was already about 8pm and they took my kitten back immediately to ensure he was stable and would last a wait to see the emergency vet. The doctor we got was Dr Donna Dotson and she was amazing. Right off the bat she explained everything in a way I could understand despite my emotional state, and went over every possible route we could take for care. She used past experience to think of out of the box methods that could help my kitten and it was honestly amazing seeing her mind work the way it did. At the time, my baby was only about 8 weeks old so he was too small for surgery or other invasive procedures, so Dr Dotson came up with an at-home plan I could do to keep my baby alive. It is 100% a fact that without Dr Dotson, my baby would not be alive today. The treatment plan worked amazingly and she has kept up with me about his long term plan until he is big enough for surgery. I can not recommend this vet clinic enough, they saved my kittens life and I am eternally grateful. The knowledge of strange anatomical issues and fixes and medications is just amazing along with the education provided so you can also understand what is going on with your pet.

May 03, 2025 · Joyce BogueOn the night of October 18, 2024 around 10pm my dog suddenly started to act strangely. She jumped on our ottoman by my desk then collapsed on all fours. My partner looked up emergency animal hospitals and what came up was the Blue Pearl, which had also been recommended to us by our vet.As we were fixing to turn into the BluePearl she stopped breathing and was unresponsive. We got into the parking lot and I ran to the door but it was locked. I had to ring the buzzer repeatedly and wait for somebody to let me in. It felt like AN ETERNITY. Once I was buzzed in I ran to the desk and told them my dog was unresponsive. They went to get somebody (didn't seem to be in a hurry) and when they came back with somebody else all she told me was LEGALLY they couldn't take her because there was NO DOCTOR! I was so confused and heartbroken. Then she showed my partner a piece of paper with the other "nearest" emergency veterinary hospital which was 10.4 miles away. She told him twice to write it down on his phone as I'm holding my dying dog in my arms. He got frustrated with her and snatched the paper from her hand. I didn't sense any compassion from the two nurses at the front desk. The only comfort we got in the building was from a couple that was in the waiting area as we left with our dog in my arms.Basically this animal hospital was NO HELP. What's been going through my mind repeatedly is HOW there was NO DOCTOR at a 24/7 EMERGENCY animal hospital when there was a couple waiting with their dog and another at the front desk? Why were WE TURNED down and others waiting? How is this "24/7 emergency" animal hospital able to label themselves as 24/7? Seems very MISLEADING for them to be able to claim that on google. On October 23, 2024 I called them and asked them some questions, they took down my info and told me they'd investigate. Called them again on November 1, 2024 for an update. The person I had talked with wasn't there, so a new person took my info down again and told me they would email the person I talked to before. They let me know they would reach out as soon as they could. Finally, after I reached out AGAIN, on November 18, 2024 I was able to reach this person. They were very apologetic and offered to make a blanket with one photo with a place they work with. We thought about accepting their offer but it didn't feel right. Basically they laid it all out on us. That they've been having staff scheduling problems. That new patients weren’t seen after a certain time. That they did have doctors at the time, but only specialists. One thing they did ask was did we call them ahead of time to see if they were accepting new patients? The last thing on anyone’s minds during a crisis is to call an EMERGENCY veterinary hospital late at night to see if they are accepting new patients.Apparently, unless you’re a PRE EXISTING PATIENT, BluePearl shouldn't be labeled as a 24/7 emergency animal hospital. We had an emergency, where each second mattered and this place wasted our time. They have lost all my trust. I will not recommend this place to ANYBODY! I hope nobody ever has to go through what we went through that night of being rejected during an emergency. But don’t worry, they did promise to put up signs in front of their establishment about accepting new patients. We've been debating on whether or not to share our experience with BluePearl but we are afraid it'll happen to somebody else so we felt that we had an obligation to. My partner and I sincerely wanted this to be a positive experience where the doctors did everything they could to save our dog, but sadly we sincerely feel that the hospital let us down. We hope that this review can lead to meaningful change.
Apr 18, 2025 · Andrea HuertaDr. Israel came highly recommended when our dog who is not yet 4 years old needed TPLO surgery. We drove almost 7 hours to see the surgeon. I was nervous after reading these reviews but everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly, the estimate which was sent in advance was what I was charged and we had help during pick up with all meds needed on board. The experience was positive and we will be going back for a hip replacement. Dr. Israel and Austin have great knowledge in what they specialize in. Luna is home tail wagging and giving kisses in between snores.
Jul 09, 2025 · Jessica LopezFAMILIES BEWARE30k on a "I don't know" on a ligament or tendent, still not sure what kind of surgery he needs. Mind you, there is no testing done yet. This is just an idea they got, never saw a break down sheet, this is just simply what she was guessing and feeling on the top of her head and if you say NO to paying, They will keep you in the room for hours and blame it on a catheter removal. How long are those taken to remove? Definitely not surgery time. We had to threaten to abandon my pet just to get him back? They said they changed his bandages they just took the hearts off his bandages off of him from the other vet. They said he was bleeding through his bandages? I see no blood or any attempts of removal off his body. It's still said the precious vet written on bandages. Thank God they wrote on it because this vet claimed they were working on him. NO, they were working on the parents to get a 30k out of us. They offered to euthanize him just because I said no to the price. Mind you, this is not life threatening, Dog will have a bent neck forever. They didn't offer to refer another vet they didn't offer a payment plan, and they definitely said you will spend on not a maybe, but I just don't know. AGAIN, they did not do any testing. They said he would be there for a few days, which will be 3 to 4k a day before the MRI? and when they think hes ready, then maybe he can take the MRI testing? After a few days stay, Mind you bandages haven't been removed or changed. This is clearly what Doc Dotson decides to do. Families BEWARE of this scary place. It wasn't a spin surgery it was a ligament or tendent surgery again. I still don't know. Dog still stands and moves. I DID A 5 STAR BECAUSE I NEED FAMILIES TO KNOW and make your decision, but you were WARNED. So scary. I can't believe I had to threaten to abandon my dog just to get him back.Today is 6/25. The next day, remember when I said our dog was bleeding thru his bandages? We took him to a another vet, that was not in the loop circle of knowing each other, Mind we have not removed the bandages from our original emergency vet, which they were amazing but did not have MRI machines, the more and I read about this MRI machine I think its out of order due to why she said she was needing him to be here for a few days which led up to 3 to 4 k a day stay and she did not disclose how many days, its was well if the dog can manageor be able to do this scan? but that's not our fault, so any ways I digress, here is a photo of our dog that has stitches. They are yellow stitches bleeding thru the bandages? my thoughts exactly not!? Lieing Dotson, shame on you. JUST Remember, Blue Pearl did not do anything to him on his injuries. Again, families BEWARE go at your risk. Update its 7.1.25 Robert is doing great hes a little sore but he's using his legs, ears, face, eating, pooping, and acting great. Why the said what she said I have no idea. Today is 7.8.25 Roberts picks his head up now. Remember families if you need to make that decision, on "taking your chances" as a family trust your gut. We did.
