★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've been going here for 3 years and recently, this place has gone downhill HARD. There's maybe one nice front desk person and the rest are either rude or incompetent, and scheduling is a nightmare. They honestly should have recommended their clients just go somewhere else I know their vets have retired or gotten sick or something but this situation they're in now is awful. I have a dog that takes medicine for seizures, and he needs to take this medicine or he will likely die or permanently damage his brain due to age and frequency. Trying to get them to refill the prescription is usually fine, until they tell me it's time for the yearly checkup. This usually happens a month before it's time for the checkup, and then they won't have availability for 2 months, and then to get them to fill the script in the mean time they treat me like a common criminal trying to hustle 15mg phenobarbital for the streets. This place was good once, a long time ago, but for now AVOID this place. It's actually a godsend they're not taking on more clients so they cannot threaten more pets lives.
August 18 · Shy PantelonesTotally deceiving the public by having the word hospital in their name, they declined to see my animal who was experiencing a medical emergency .I walked in without an appointment and it is their prerogative to opt not to see me but if their name wasn’t Hospital I wouldn’t have wasted precious time stopping there. The person I spoke with at the front counter should be working as a Corrections Officer instead so she can put her cold indifferent robot skills to use.
July 28 · Akimay IkedaWe really liked this vet for quite awhile. We started bringing our dogs to Dr. Black during Covid, they allowed me to be at the appointments for my anxious boy when every other vet was drop off only. The last year or so has gone down hill. One or two of the vets retired and Dr. Black is no longer seeing patients. It’s a nightmare to get in to an appointment, my dog was in a cone this week because he was so itchy and it was a 5 week wait or I could do a drop off appointment and pay double for him to be kenneled all day and seen between other appointments. I asked them if they could atleast ask the vet how much Benadryl to give while we wait (since we’ve had 5 appointments for our dog being itchy with no game plan) and I never got a call back, they told me on the phone they might not tell me that information because his last appointment was in April…. So the information I already paid for cant be relayed over the phone? We had another situation where my dog had an emergency (sliced his ear nearly off) and the emergency vets in the area wouldn’t see him because it wasn’t “life threatening”. I called Canyon Road to let them know he needed to be seen as soon as possible and they told me they didn’t have openings and didn’t know what I wanted them to do. When I mentioned that they are his DOCTOR and need to figure something out they let me bring him in to get his EAR SEWED BACK ON. It shouldn’t have even been a debate. They used to have great customer service, went the extra mile to fit you in, gave really thorough care, but it’s not been the same for quite awhile unfortunately. As others have said, some (not all) of the front desk staff seem like they’d rather be anywhere but there. I get the sense that they’re extremely short staffed and struggling to keep up, which I sympathize with but it was unfortunately time for us to make a change and we were able to find another local vet who was able to get my dog seen and feeling better within 24 hours.
July 31 · Lauren NelsonJust moved here from the east coast. $1500 for a teeth cleaning of a fifteen pound dog is hyper predatory! I never once paid more than $400 in any mid Atlantic state. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You don’t need a Porsche and three vacations homes!!! Stop fleecing your customers who actually love their pets.I will NEVER return to your practice!
June 19 · Anon YmousStaff are all very polite and professional. I know it should be a given but what I like best is the fact that are all truly dog lovers:)))
