Castle Rock Cat Hospital Introduce
In the heart of Colorado, pet owners know their cats aren't just pets—they're family. When it comes to their health, finding a veterinarian who truly understands the unique needs of felines is essential. This is where Castle Rock Cat Hospital shines. As a dedicated, cats-only veterinary practice, we offer an unparalleled level of specialized care, from the tip of their nose to the end of their tail. Our mission is to provide a calm, fear-free environment where your cat can receive the best medical attention without the stress often associated with mixed-animal clinics. We believe that by focusing exclusively on cats, we can offer more precise diagnostics, tailored treatments, and a deeper understanding of feline behavior and health.
Our professional team is comprised of individuals who are passionate about cats and committed to ongoing education in feline medicine. We understand that cats have different needs and display different symptoms than dogs, and our entire practice is designed around this knowledge. This specialization allows us to spot subtle changes in behavior or health that might be missed elsewhere. Whether it’s a routine checkup for a new kitten, ongoing care for a senior cat, or specialized treatment for a complex condition, you can rest assured that your cat is in expert hands. The testimonial from a client who drove all the way from Boulder for our iodine treatment for their cat’s hyperthyroidism speaks volumes about our expertise. They noted that they "knew he was in the best hands" and that the results were life-changing for their 14-year-old pet, who now "looks 4 years younger" and has a better quality of life. This is the kind of transformative care we strive to provide for every feline friend.
Castle Rock Cat Hospital is conveniently located at 612 Atchison Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109. The peaceful environment is enhanced by the presence of a few resident cats who greet visitors, making the space feel more like a friendly home than a typical hospital.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Castle Rock Cat Hospital treated my boy for hyperthyroidism with the iodine treatment about 6 months ago. We drove all the way from Boulder and are glad we did. You can tell they are pros and every step of the way I knew he was in the best hands. It wasn't easy being away from him for a few days but it was worth it. No daily meds, no side affects, and in the past 6 months he's put on nearly 2lbs, which he desperately needed. Everything improved for him across the board - He is able to rest more, is more active when he's awake, eats better, and looks 4 years younger. These photos were taken 6 months apart, he is 14yo in both of them and looks younger in the post-treatment photo. If your cat is dealing with hyperthyroidism I highly recommend considering the iodine treatment and Castle Rock Cat Hospital.
April 03 · Wesley ClawsonGreat place! For many years we’ve used them for veterinary care as well as for boarding when we go on vacation. They love the cats and even have a couple regulars that lie around in the office. For boarding they have various options from the basics, kitty condos many with windows to the outside and even a dedicated room.
July 22 · John Pittsif I could give less than zero stars I certainly would! knowing my cat is a stray, the ridiculously ignorant vet tech just let him out of his carrier without covering him up. Of course he went straight up the wall and she had no clue what to with him. 2 other vet techs came in and all of them were clueless. Apparently his gabapentin hadn't been on board long enough. So instead of trying to help my sick cat they sent us away. No care for my cat. How does a cat specialist send away a sick cat? They didn't care that I had to take time off work this appointment, they didn't offer to see him later when was calmer. They DID NOT CARE! Do not take your beloved cats to this awful place. On my way to the Castle Rock emergency vet to get give this cat the care he needs and deserves.
May 07 · Nancy ScudderThe staff at Castle Rock Cat Hospital are absolutely amazing! I brought my Beep cat in for the 1-131 treatment, and it was the best decision I could have made for her health and well-being. Beep is calmer. She sleeps better and is gaining weight. I am so grateful to Dr. Walkup, Mandee, and everyone at The Castle Rock Cat Hospital for their knowledge, expertise, consideration, and care. Thank you so much❤️
June 09 · Leigh BrackettWe absolutely love every person that works here. We’ve been treated like family since day one and our senior kitty is happier and healthier now than she was when we found her as a stray.Dr. Walkup was able to diagnose our baby, which others have failed at, and provided an affordable and manageable routine. We could never move away from CR because we would miss everything about CR Cat Hospital. We are forever grateful customers!
