The Cat Clinic of Plymouth stands out significantly in the Massachusetts veterinary landscape due to its specialized focus and commitment to feline-specific care. Several features and highlights make them an exceptional choice for local cat owners:
- **Feline-Exclusive Environment:** This is perhaps their most defining feature. Being a "dog-free environment" significantly reduces stress for sensitive felines, particularly those prone to anxiety or with past trauma. The clinic is designed to "look and feel a lot like home for your feline family member," with special "cat condominiums" for comfortable stays.
- **Exceptional Patience and Compassion:** Reviews consistently laud the staff for their extraordinary patience and kindness. One owner recounted how two other vets refused to treat their "attitude problem" cat for nail trims, but the Cat Clinic "took the time to figure out the best and least stressful way to get what he needs done. I can’t thank them enough for that." This highlights their dedication to positive handling.
- **Expertise with Anxious/Traumatized Cats:** Their ability to handle difficult cases is a major draw. A review specifically mentioned their success with a "little terrorist" cat with "major Vet trauma" who got his vaccinations "without anyone getting bit or stabbed." This demonstrates their specialized techniques for keeping nervous cats calm(er).
- **Thorough Explanations and Communication:** For owners of cats with complex medical issues, the clinic goes the extra mile. An owner with an "older cat has a lot of medical issues" praised them for spending "the time to explain things to me. Always checking on him making sure he gets what he needs." This commitment to clear communication fosters trust and understanding.
- **AAFP Cat Friendly Practice® Certified:** They are certified by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) as a Cat Friendly Practice®. This certification signifies that the clinic meets stringent criteria for providing an environment that reduces stress, fear, and anxiety for cats, and that staff are trained in feline-friendly handling.
- **Dedicated Doctors with Feline Focus:** Both Dr. Cassandra Kelley and Dr. Richard Duckett are members of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, with Dr. Duckett having worked exclusively with felines for over a decade. Their specialized knowledge ensures the most current and effective care for cats.
- **Long-Term Client Loyalty:** The willingness of clients to "travel from Marshfield to see them" and "wouldn’t think of going anywhere else" speaks volumes about the consistent high quality of care and the strong bonds formed between the clinic, the cats, and their owners.

Cat Clinic of Plymouth Reviews
Love the Cat Clinic. One of my boys has a little attitude problem when getting his nails cut. Two other vets in Plymouth asked me bit to bring him back. Not the Cat Clinic. They took the time to figure out the best and least stressful way to get what he needs done. I can’t thank them enough for that. My older cat has a lot of medical issues and they spend the time to explain things to me. Always checking on him making sure he gets what he needs. They are all just so wonderfully kind, patient and as accommodating as they can be. I travel from Marshfield to see them. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.
Feb 23, 2025 · patricia jennerOur little terrorist has some major Vet trauma due to time spent living in one after a lost fight with a car as a kitten. Historically he has been a very angry little patient. The Cat Clinic of Plymouth did a wonderful job with him, and while he didn't enjoy the visit, he got his vaccinations without anyone getting bit or stabbed by the little stuffed animal with razor blade hands. They had patience with him and did a great job at keeping him calm(er)!

Dec 01, 2023 · Janet LincolnWe moved to Plymouth from New York and needed to find a new vet for our cats. We are SO happy that we found the Cat Clinic. Everyone there is so friendly; they are on time and are always so professional. The staff and Dr. Kelley are wonderful. You can see how much they care for the cats and they take time to explain everything…you never feel rushed at all. The costs are reasonable, as well, specially compared to other vets we’ve been to in the past.We highly recommend the Cat Clinic - the best vet we have ever visited.
