We watched customers try to make jokes with them and they seem rude and miserable.2.5 weeks ago we asked for our 7 month old German Shepard to get x-rays for his hips because he has been hopping like a bunny and seems a little uncomfortable. When we made this appointment I confirmed we would absolutely be doing x-rays that day and we would not just be coming in for a visit. They said yes. We had to wait 2.5 weeks to get this done.We showed up and walked in- inside the first door there were nails all laid out on the windowsill, where our dog could reach and boxes. Walls were covered with stains of dirt, floors were dirty. (Seems inappropriate seeing how pets are coming in - if you care about my pet wouldn’t you want to keep him safe and clean ?) we went in to see the vet and he told us if we are to do x-rays he needs to be sedated and needs to fast for the X-ray. I asked why we didn’t get a call about this so we could do it today. He said he didn’t see the visit until this morning - I again asked, why did we not get a call ? He had no explanation.If our German Shepard has hip dysplasia, time is super important for him - he needs to get an X-ray early since he’s still growing. The vet knew this. Also, our dog shouldn’t need to immediately be sedated without trying to get an x ray without first. Do you not have the man power to hold him still in the x ray? Because that’s not safe. We ended up finding a vet that held him and he did not need sedation.We were disgusted. A total waste of time for us and the health of our dog. We told the vet that there were nails sitting out on the windowsill, like the front desk people, he had a flat affect and didn’t care. Horrible.
Mar 21, 2025 · Shannon WIf you love your pet, stay away! It has been a long time since I worked here and the memories I have leave me horrified to this day. Dr. Masucco was barbaric with the animals - rough treatment, surgery without gloves, sloppy vet care. His wife was psychotic and the "office manager, and made the staff miserable. Seeing the big variety of things offered now - my, my! Run! There is no way a regular vet can offer a bunch of services and be great at all - endoscopy, ultrasound, chemotherapy, orthopedic surgery and more. There are specialists for a reason, just like with people. I sure do wish this guys license would get pulled or he retired!
Jun 25, 2025 · Teedo NOT trust this office.My cat went to tufts in December and was diagnosed with asthma. I noticed he was having an asthma attack. I called countryside and asked if they could just prescribe me the medicine he was on. They asked me to come in anyways, that the doctor wanted to see him. When I got there the doctor (Dr. Carol Nyereyegona) took an x-ray, came back in the room and said "your cat does not have asthma, he has heart failure and tumors in his stomach. You can put him down right now". (Keep in mind my cat had his yearly check up in January at countryside, where a different doctor confirmed he did have asthma). Dr. Nyereyegona continuously told me that I could put him down that night, without ever trying any other options. She was so ignorant and unprofessional. She then told me that I could go to tufts "but she does not think she is wrong". After I sat In her office crying she then kicked me out and told me to go wait in the waiting room for my ride. The front desk people then made me pay $290 just to tell me the best thing to put him down.I then went to tufts and had to go through all these tests to make sure countryside was wrong. After $3,000 we learned it was just an asthma attack and he would live a perfectly normal life.A few days later, the doctor at countryside called to apologize and then proceed to BLAME tufts for the December visit. I then called back to speak with the owner. He was the rudest and most unsympathetic and unapologetic man I have ever encountered. As I explained the situation he agreed that the he would allow me to have a refund. I expressed how $3,000 at tufts was unnecessary and they should be paying part of the bill. The owner then BLAMED tufts stating that they are "a highly trained office and if they knew that he had asthma then they should know to just treat him for asthma". I explained that they had to do all these test because of what his office said. He continuously just stated the same statement over and over. After 15 minutes of him and I going back and forth on the phone he finally said he was going to look at the x-ray and call me back. He never did.We then went into the office the next day to receive the refund and the front desk ladies was not able to process the refund. Once we argued that we spoke to the owner last night they said they would need to go get the owner's approval. They came back and stated they could do it but needed the original card. We told them we would be back in 30 minutes and when we arrived back they said they could not give the refund. The doctor that gave my cat the x-ray then came out and said "we can not refund you, I need to be paid for for my services". When we asked to speak with the owner, they said "oh he had to step out" when they knew we were coming back with the card and his office light was clearly on. After much fight they finally agreed to process the refund and then kicked us out of the office. After they kicked us out the doctor said, "you're welcome for that refund by the way". While we were there, we asked for my cats record. When we got home and read through the report the doctor wrote "looking more comfortable, should we put him down? enlarged heart?". Everything she wrote had a question mark next to it.Overall, the front desk people are sneaky and rude. The owner, Dr. Massucco is a coward and does not know how to handle confrontation with his clients, and Dr. Carol Nyereyegona should have no right to touch another animal.
Jun 28, 2025 · Olivia FoleyAll of the vets here are very good and very caring. They are also reasonable with costs compared to some other local vets. We switched to countryside ~10 years ago after another local vet said they would need to pull most of our cat's teeth and it was going to be $1k+ and he'd need special food his whole life, so we got a second opinion and countryside took a closer look and only 1 tooth needed to go, and he lived another 9 years (to 19) happily. They are very good and patient with our anxious dogs as well.
