Choosing CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is a decision to prioritize the specialized needs of your pet's heart health. What makes us a worthwhile choice, especially for those in California, is our dedicated focus on veterinary cardiology. While many general practice animal hospitals can perform basic check-ups, they may not have the expertise or equipment required for complex cardiac diagnoses and treatments. Our practice fills that crucial gap, providing an environment where your pet's heart condition can be accurately diagnosed and expertly managed. The reviews from clients who have traveled significant distances to see our specialists, like Dr. Boorstin, demonstrate the trust and confidence that pet owners have in our expertise. The willingness to travel from central California for our services is a powerful testament to our reputation and the quality of care we provide. These clients chose to visit us because they were not satisfied with their previous experiences and were seeking a higher level of care and a more compassionate approach.
Furthermore, our commitment to patient-centered care is a significant reason to choose us. The ability for owners to be in the room during procedures like ultrasounds and EKGs helps reduce stress for both the pet and the owner and fosters a sense of transparency and trust. This is a unique and highly appreciated aspect of our service, as noted by a client who felt that we "really seemed to care about my boy." When dealing with a serious condition like heart disease, having a team that is not only medically excellent but also empathetic and transparent is invaluable. We are not just treating a disease; we are caring for a beloved family member, and that is a distinction we take seriously. For pet owners in California seeking the best possible cardiac care for their companions, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is a highly recommended and trusted choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a wonderful experience. Considering the difficult circumstances of our visit I feel very fortunate to have made my elderly dogs appoint at CVCA Cardiac Care in Capistrano. The doctor and the staff are amazing . I felt very comfortable with the kind and caring manner of all the staff. The doctor was amazing, he took the time to explain everything in detail and was happy to answer all my questions and concerns without rushing . I especially appreciated the urgency with which they sent the results to the surgeon working with my dog and taking the time at the end of the same day to call and share thoughts and recommendations for anesthesia and possible ways to operate with minimal problems. I highly recommend this wonderful business to others. Diana Daley
June 29 · Diana DaleyDr Boorstin is the best! We traveled from central California to see him since he had the best reviews. We previously saw a different cardiologist and did not like the experience. Dr Boorstin and his staff were so friendly and were well versed his my little old man’s medical history. They allowed us in the room for the ultrasound/echo and EKG. Dr made sure we left will all questions answered and we did not feel rushed. They really seemed to care about my boy and they seemed to enjoy their job. Definitely will recommend to anyone who is looking for a cardiologist that’s treats your pet as family.
August 06 · Ingrid C.Date: July 26, 2025Dr. Boorstin provided exceptional care and demonstrated outstanding dedication to Mimi, my 14 year Chihuahua with advance heart murmur and liver tumor. Dr. Boorstin and his team are very professional and accommodating throughout the visit. Perfect 10/10 rating reflects superior quality of care and expertise in veterinary medicine.
July 26 · Chelly RoblesWe brought our 8-yr old Pomeranian, King, to CVCA because of an enlarged heart seen on an X-ray a few weeks ago. I was very anxious and could only think about the worst possible outcome, considering how he was breathing.Dr. Boorstin and Kristin were very warm and welcoming and took the time to review the information presented to them and talk about what they would be looking for on an echocardiogram. They connected well with King and were able to do the full study. They were able to quickly identify the problems and prescriptions, not just for his heart but to help him breathe better because of a collapsed trachea. They also took the time to work with the pharmacy, identify alternate pharmacies, and we write prescriptions when I encounter issues getting medications locally and from a compounding pharmacy. No fault to CVCA, who even provided me some temporary donated medications while we were waiting. The price, which includes both the consultation and what is about a 20 minute or so study, is fair (don't fret right away!) considering there are only eight or so veterinary cardiologists in the SoCal area.
June 18 · Aalap ShahWe had such a great experience at CVCA San Juan Capistrano! Dr. Boorstin and his team were welcoming, knowledgeable and above all else - you could tell that they really cared about their patients. Dr. Boorstin helped us understand what was going on with our dog, Eddie, and provided us with clear steps to take moving forward. We are so fortunate to have this clinic so close to home!
