Features / Highlights
Beyond the list of services, Dexter Animal Clinic is known for several key features that enhance the client experience. The clinic’s location in a peaceful country setting is a significant highlight, as it provides a calm environment that can be particularly beneficial for pets who experience anxiety during vet visits. The clinic also has facilities for boarding, which is a convenient service for clients who need a safe and secure place for their pets to stay. The availability of an online pharmacy is another key feature, allowing pet owners to easily order medications and prescription foods from the comfort of their home, ensuring a steady supply of what their pet needs without an extra trip to the clinic.
One of the most valuable aspects of the clinic, as noted by customer reviews, is the staff’s kindness and professionalism. They are known for sending cards to families after a pet has passed away, a gesture that shows a deep level of empathy and compassion during a difficult time. The clinic also provides services like home visits, which can be an invaluable option for pets that are elderly, ill, or simply too large to transport easily.

What is Worth Choosing
For pet owners in Michigan, choosing a veterinary clinic is a personal decision that requires careful consideration. Dexter Animal Clinic offers a number of compelling reasons to be a preferred choice. The most valuable aspect is their commitment to compassionate care, which is consistently mentioned in customer reviews. The clinic's staff has shown a deep level of empathy, such as sending a condolence card to a family after their beloved dog passed away. This kind of personal touch goes a long way in building trust and showing that the clinic truly cares about both the pet and the owner.
The clinic’s focus on providing a peaceful environment is also a significant plus. For pets that are easily stressed, a calm country setting is a welcome change from a busy, noisy urban clinic. This can make vet visits much less traumatic for the animal. Additionally, the clinic’s services, such as an in-house lab and an online pharmacy, add a layer of convenience that can streamline the process of pet care. Having access to prescription medications and foods from a trusted source, without having to make a separate trip, is a great benefit.
While some feedback has pointed out potential organizational issues, such as communication challenges and concerns about the quality of some diagnostic tests, it’s also important to consider the positive feedback about the vets themselves and their caring attitude. For routine visits and general care, the clinic provides all the essential services a pet needs. The availability of elective surgeries and boarding services also makes it a convenient, one-stop shop for many pet owners. Ultimately, for those who value a kind and compassionate team in a calming environment for their pet’s general health needs, Dexter Animal Clinic is a worthy option to consider.

Dexter Animal Clinic: Danes Sandra DVM Reviews
***I am not sure why Sandra Danes' name is attached to this listing. This review is not about her. We had excellent experiences with her when she was at the Village Animal Clinic in Dexter. ****We had a good experience with the two vets we saw here, but the overall organization of this clinic is just bad. First, I would frequently be put on hold when I called. Not a big deal in and of itself, but I'd be on hold long enough to wonder if they'd forgotten about me. Or I'd call I'd get a busy signal. The thing that made us leave was when our beloved dog got sick. We went to them to have his lumps aspirated, which they did, and they also did the x-rays there. We did this because both this clinic and the cancer vet told us it would be cheaper to do it with our own vet. When we went to our first appointment with the cancer vet, x-rays and samples in hand, we were told that the x-rays and the samples both were not good quality and it would all need to be redone. Finally, after our dog passed (and the Dexter Animal Clinic staff had kindly sent us a card acknowledging it), we continued to get notifications for his check ups and vaccinations. I was too wrapped up in our dog's dying to take care of things with this clinic, but at that point I called and told them we were not going there anymore. If you're considering this clinic, save yourself the hassle and find another vet.

September 26 · Charlotte Karem AlbrechtAfter several bad experiences, I've decided to go elsewhere. It's difficult to understand why these people are still in business. Pretty grim for anyone trying to make a living there, but it's only fair to let people know what they are like ahead of time.
