★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When my service dog Gally started limping this spring, I assumed it was a sprain. Turned out to be a cracked metacarpal and we had weeks of splinting, rest, and a very impatient BorderPap ahead. We have had a rough financial stretch, and I was terrified we’d have to choose between her care and essentials. (We would’ve chosen her.)The team at 🏥 East Bay SPCA Theodore B. Travers Vet Clinic in Oakland didn’t make us choose. They were kind, considerate, incredibly competent, and unbelievably communicative from day one. They worked with us on grant funding, explained every step clearly, and treated Gally with as much tenderness as skill💛. The whole place is spotless, well-organized, and clearly run by people who care deeply.🩺 Veterinary care can feel like an overwhelming punch (we've lost two young dogs since 2022 to sudden onset traumatic illness so believe me, we KNOW) but this felt like true community. If you’re in the East Bay and need a vet clinic that treats you like a human and your pet like family, go here.As long as this review is, it STILL doesn't adequately reflect how grateful we are. 🙏 I can't wait till we're back on our feet and we can join the donor rolls!PS: The Pet Food Pantry is another ENORMOUS community good! I truly am blown away by the myriad ways this facility cares for its neighbors!! We were super excited to bring some of our old @Barkbox Toys to share with Pantry families!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Five stars. 🐾 Two paws and 👍👍 thumbs WAY up. All the likes. 🙌#EastBaySPCA #OaklandVetCare #ServiceDogSupport #CommunityCare #VeterinaryClinicOakland #BarkBox
June 17 · Rebecca StaffordWe brought our little chihuahua here to get dental cleaning and extractions about a month ago and the vet and staff here were excellent. They were kind, gentle, understanding, and the procedure went very smoothly. She came back home with extremely well packaged and portioned medication. Her recovery at home was very quick and she is a very happy girl. Thank you so much for taking care of our Beauty!
March 15 · Jenny TranIf you’re looking for quality pet care at a lower cost compared to other veterinary services in the Bay Area then I highly recommend East Bay SPCA. They service a lot of patients yet you can still get an appointment quicker than other veterinary services in the area. They have provided my pet with vaccinations, post surgery treatment such as staple removal, X-rays, medication and CCL tear diagnoses. They care about your pets well being and provide fear free treatment.
March 04 · Seth WatsonIt's not like my last visit where the Veterinarian actually listened to my concerns this visit the veterinarian I got this time didn't listen out maybe she did but completely gaslight the whole visit my adding something I spoke highly not wanting it's already expensive to have to bring your pets to a clinic but to not be heard of disappointing. But on a positive the receptionist are absolutely amazing completely friendly coming in and leaving complete bonus thank you for that experience at least.
August 19 · CschaarbTruly amazing and helpful staff. My 12 y.o. senior dog's health dramatically declined and needed Euthanasia services. Local vets and home services were charging over $400, yet no availability. East Bay SPCA emailed me with an affordable cost to help my family and I decide what was best for our pet and got an appointment within the week so we could let our pet rest. The staff were empathetic and professional with the entire process and we are grateful for all they do.Update 4/22/25: I just got a card in the mail from them with our boy's paw print (very large) and signed by the staff's condelences. We did not expect it and my family loved the card. Thank you again.
