For pet owners in Columbia and throughout Mid-Missouri, **Forum Animal Hospital** represents a long-standing tradition of high-quality, comprehensive veterinary medicine. As a key location within the highly respected Horton Animal Hospital group, this facility has expanded from a satellite clinic to a full-service **Animal Hospital** providing advanced care for a wide range of patients. The mission of the hospital is clear: to provide progressive veterinary medicine while promoting the vital human-animal bond.
The practice caters primarily to **Dog & Cat** patients, but its commitment to comprehensive care extends to **Pocket Pets** and other non-traditional companions (such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rodents, and select reptiles). This makes it a versatile choice for families with multiple types of pets. The level of care provided is consistently praised by clients, who often speak to the dedication and expertise of the veterinary team.
One client, demonstrating the depth of trust the hospital inspires, stated:
“This is an amazing group of Humans, who have always provided the best care for our family fur babies. Despite living an hour away now, we will continue our Cindy Lou's care here. They truly are fabulous.”
Another long-time client summarized their experience over nearly 15 years, highlighting the continuous support through all stages of a pet’s life:
“Horton Animal Hospital has been our go to vet for nearly 15 years. From our first puppy until we had to put her down 14 years later - they helped us take the best care of her. Now that we have our new puppy they have already helped us make sure she has the best health as she continues to grow. Dr. Door is a wonderful Vet and we worked with several others as well. She helps take care of your pets as if they were her own.”
This feedback underscores the practice's compassionate, personalized approach to **Health Care** and its commitment to forming lasting relationships with pet families in the Columbia area.

- We have been clients of Forum Animal Hospital for many years, and there is truly no veterinary care like theirs. From the moment you begin care with them, you become part of a family. Every member of the staff recognizes you and treats you with warmth and compassion, always referring to you as your pet’s parent.Over the years, we’ve brought multiple pets into their care, and each one has been loved not just by us, but by the entire Forum team. When it comes time to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet, they are right there with you—offering comfort, patience, and genuine empathy. Their compassion is unmatched, and they grieve alongside you.We feel incredibly fortunate to have our animals cared for by such dedicated professionals. Dr. Susan Sczepanski, in particular, is truly exceptional. Recently, we had to make the difficult decision to put down our beloved red heeler due to a tragic accident. Dr. Sczepanski’s kindness, gentle presence, and the care she provided to both our pet and our family were beyond anything we could have hoped for. I truly don’t know how we would have gotten through it without her support.Forum Animal Hospital is not just a veterinary clinic—it’s a place of love, compassion, and unwavering support. We are deeply grateful. April 30 · Michaella Johnson
- We see Dr Mary March at this clinic and have been for the last 4-5 years. We have 5 animals.. cuz we have problems saying no.. lol. Dr March is great and reasonable. She doesn’t make us feel like bad pet parents when we sometimes have to delay some cares. She is great about giving us all the options. She truly seems to care about her clients. I’ve even taken a dog in for an appointment with another vet due to time constraints in our schedule, she saw the appointment and made room for us so we didn’t have to see an unfamiliar vet. Also, all the receptionists, especially Margot are always friendly and helpful. - Been seeing Dr. Leubbering here for a few years now. I am blown away by her expertise and friendly demeanor every time I see her. I have a cat with a history of health issues from kitten age , requiring occasional care at MU VHC, and Dr. Leubbering has been with me every step of the way, communicating with MU and figuring out the best route for care. As adult, this cat does have some aggression at the vet, and she handles him perfectly.Previous vets I’ve been to had seemed disinterested in working with my cat, like being a vet isn’t what they thought it was going to be or like they only want the easy, low effort cases. Dr. Leubbering is the opposite. She is very passionate about her job and up to date on the latest veterinary science, attending conferences and the like, and you can tell she’s very experienced. I wish I could find a human doctor like her 😅 August 19 · Rin
