Choosing Ruff Day Vet + Pet Gym means opting for a unique and highly effective model of veterinary care, as demonstrated by the heartfelt reviews from satisfied clients. A dog owner shared their incredible journey with their senior lab, who at nearly 15 years old was struggling with mobility and health issues. They had "run out of options for her medically" until their vet recommended acupuncture at Ruff Day Vet. After just four months of treatment, the dog, who hadn't been on a walk in a year, was "back up to two a day." The owner credits the clinic for their "105-year-old lady is kicking butt again" and highlights the calming environment, which made their anxious dog feel comfortable and relaxed, describing the treatment room as more like "a living room." This story is a powerful testament to the life-changing results of the clinic's specialized care.
Another happy client praised the clinic for helping their 10-year-old dog, BoJack, with joint pain and mobility issues due to arthritis. They were "absolutely thrilled" with the results from acupuncture and red light therapy, noting that not only did the treatments help immensely, but BoJack "LOVES going there!" This is a significant point for any pet owner—finding a place where your pet is not only cared for but also feels safe and happy. The kindness and gentleness of the staff were key to helping a typically shy dog warm up. This client also appreciated that the reasonable price was reimbursed by their pet insurance, making this high-quality care accessible and affordable.
These glowing testimonials prove that Ruff Day Vet + Pet Gym is more than just a vet clinic; it's a place where pets and their owners feel seen, heard, and cared for. The combination of expert knowledge in alternative therapies, a genuinely compassionate approach, and a calming environment makes this practice an invaluable resource for pet owners in Washington looking to improve their animal's quality of life. For those seeking holistic, non-traditional solutions for their pets' health challenges, Ruff Day Vet is a clear choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Really couldn’t recommend Ruff Day Vet enough. Our near 15 year old lab was really struggling a few months back. We had run out of options for her medically as her kidneys and liver were not doing well at the time, and frankly we thought it was over.We asked our vet “do we have any options left?” The only thing they could recommend was acupuncture at Ruff Day Vet.Fast forward 4 months and our dog is about as happy and healthy as ever. She hadn’t been able to go on a walk in about a year prior, and now she’s back up to two a day. We see a huge improvement in her quality of life after every appointment and she continues to improve even at near 15 years old. Our 105 year old lady is kicking butt again and we really have to give all the thanks to Ruff Day Vet.The way they do their office is really helpful as well. It’s not like a normal vet experience for our dog ( she hates the vet). It’s calming and more like going to a friends house. The room we get treatments in is more of a living room than a medical room. Our dog is able to be way more comfortable as they get on her level (literally) doing treatments on the floor with a nice comfy rug and dog bed. They really are able to calm and befriend a usually anxious pup at the vet.I’m now looking into acupuncture for myself. Total believer. Truly can’t recommend enough. We really believe in what they are doing.
July 15 · jakesacquitneWe have been absolutely thrilled with our experience at Ruff Day! Our big guy BoJack is 10 and was starting to experience joint pain and mobility issues due to arthritis. Not only has his acupuncture and red light therapy treatments helped him immensely, he LOVES going there! He is typically shy around people, but the folks at Ruff Day are so kind and gentle, he warmed right up and gets so excited every time we visit! The price is also so reasonable and reimbursed by my pet insurance.
July 23 · Amanda ReimanI 100% recommend Ruff Day to anyone whose dog needs physical therapy, laser treatment, or acupuncture! Heather is such an amazing vet and is truly a dog whisperer. My dog Artemis is a tripod with trust issues, and it isn't easy for her to trust people due to trauma in her early life. She immediately warmed up to Heather, and felt safe and comfortable there. Artemis had so much fun there, and the physical therapy helped her immensely. I was also taught how to help Artemis at home, and Heather made that very easy to do.If you are looking for physical therapy or holistic options for your dog, I recommend Ruff Day highly!!
May 14 · Jennifer FoyI am forever grateful to Dr. Heather Misener and the rest of the team at Ruff Day! They have made such a huge positive impact on the health and wellbeing of my dog, Oakley, who was diagnosed with lumbosacral stenosis. Dr. Misener is exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough when evaluating her patients. She would perform PT exercises with her and then show me how to perform the prescribed exercises at home. We also had routine follow-ups so she could evaluate her progress. I could tell Dr. Misener is just as invested in my dog’s health and wellbeing as I am. Now, I can’t remember the last time Oakley had a painful episode. At 6 years old, she is stronger and more energetic than ever! I highly encourage anyone who has a dog with any musculoskeletal issue to go see Dr. Misener for help - she is a brilliant veterinarian who has truly changed the trajectory of my dog’s life.
June 29 · Christina HowardMy family has a senior lab, Maya, that recently lost some mobility in her hind legs. Her mind is sharp but it seems her body can’t keep up anymore with all the places she wants to explore. We started taking Maya to Dr. John at Maritime Chiropractic and he referred us to Ruff Day for PT in addition to his practice.Needless to say, Dr. Heather and vet tech Eva take such care when they see Maya! We know she will be in great and gentle hands with them. Her tail is always wagging around them and we can tell she feels safe. Maya has gained mobility and strength since we’ve started taking her to Ruff Day and we’re really excited for the progress she can still make. Heather also provided us with a harness that enables us to lift Maya more easily, without having to reach under her belly and cause her discomfort. While it may be unorthodox to take your dog to get acupuncture, cupping, and physical therapy, we couldn’t recommend Ruff Day enough! It is so worth seeing Maya walk by herself again.
