Haven Animal Hospital Reviews
The staff and veterinarian have been absolutely wonderful to work with; they've taken excellent care of my mom's dog while she was in the hospital, treating him like a little prince. He gets excited when we pull into the parking lot, knowing he'll see his friends in the office. My very grateful thanks to all there who have made this time a little easier.
May 31, 2025 · Jen NClient of several years. Brought my 12 year old dog in with complaints of shortness of breath and that we had felt several lumps on her rib cage/chest area. Lumps dismissed as “nothing.. fatty tumors” and panting was said to be due to Cushings disease. Returned to office 1 week later -breathing had gotten worse and dog was not using back leg - diagnosed with torn ACL and breathing was worse because of “pain -not Cushings” Returned 3rd time after being up all night because dog was struggling to breathe- walked in and as soon as Vet saw her said “this isn’t Cushings you need to go to the emergency vet.” Emergency vet did an ultrasound and found fluid in her chest cavity and multiple tumors on her lungs and we had to euthanize her that afternoon. Because The Haven refused to listen to me - my dog was needlessly given medication and suffered for 3 weeks while we were led to believe that there was a chance she would improve. I will never take another pet of mine back to this office.
Jun 22, 2025 · Jill McEvoyJust an FYI, this pracice doesnt have appointments that you make in advance. The Dr. has walk in hours where any current patient can come in without making an appointment during those hours. I find this to be really convenient, and in my opinion, more vet practices should do the same. Also, I'm not 100% sure if it still works this way, but in the past, in order to become a client, you needed to be referred by a current client. Its a small practice, so i dont think its feasable for the Dr. to take on as many patients as larger vet clinics., especially since shes very thorough when she sees your pet. You should probably call the office and ask yourself though. Both of my dogs were patients at The Haven many years ago. They have since passed away and I adopted another dog, Darla, in 2020. Against my better judgement, I let a family member pressure me into going to another vet in Ballston Spa (he worked there). It was the worst decision that I could have made for my dog. The more often I went there, the more apparent to me it was that all they cared about was how much money they can milk you for unnecessary tests and medications. And the cherry on top is that even with all these tests and meds, my dog was still not getting better. Every visit was just a money grab, and more often I left without answers or solutions, but a significantly lighter wallet. My dog is now terminal with a lung condition & a giant mammary tumor, and I feel like if the other vet was more proactive and responsive, things might be different today. I keep kicking myself because I should have brought her to Dr. Thibeault years ago.Because she's terminal at this time, the main concern is now palliative care, and the other vet practice was not helping to keep her comfortable and out of pain. I'm SO GRATEFUL that Dr. T allowed me to return to the practice. The very first visit, Dr. T told me about an injectable pain medication that I was never told about at the other vet practice. She also prescribed other pain medication for her, because Librella (injection) takes a little while to start working. In one visit, you are able to pick up on the Dr's expertise. She discussed with me things that I previously was not made aware of, and she took her time with us. You can tell that Dr. T really cares about the animals she sees, even though they aren't her own. I can't thank the doctor and the practice for everything they've done and continue to do for my little girl. If you are lucky enough to be accepted as a client, you won't be sorry.
Mar 11, 2024 · Tiff JDesiree is definitely the best veterinarian in our area. Even if I lived 50 miles from The Haven Animal Hospital, I would make the trip to receive the best care for my Puggle. Not only is Desiree a knowledgeable and compassionate vet, she is affordable! Her heart is in her job for all the right reasons….to make animals lives better. The office workers and vet assistants are competent and caring as well. Such a great practice (-:
Nov 11, 2024 · Kim HigleyWould give zero stars if I could. Client of 11 years. I brought my dog in for bloodwork and they said everything came back good. A week later I went to Malta animal hospital and they found multiple life threatening illness that lead to us putting down our dog the same day. Don’t go to this dump!
