- We came here for an after hours emergency and appreciated the care and information we received. The vet was well informed and took the time to explain our options without seeming annoyed by being there at an earlier morning hour. We are so grateful! July 27 · Laura McCalester
- The best vets! They treat your animals like their own. So kind, caring and gentle. They tell you exactly what they are doing and why. If you have any questions or concerns, they make sure you understand. If you have to make the decision to help them cross the rainbow bridge, they get emotional along side you. The rest of the staff from reception to vet techs are also the best. I highly recommend them to anyone who asks and even those who don't. March 03 · Buffie Gier
- Got in right on scheduled time, all staff was extremely friendly and made sure I understood everything they were saying. Very inviting vet clinic. November 15 · Austin Glandon
- They do not deserve the one star. I would give them none if I were able to. This will be a bit long of a review. I don't usually give bad reviews, but my cat almost died and is still on an IV and four other medications. He may not pull through since it took so long to get him the proper care.I took my cat to this clinic because he was losing massive weight and I have always brought ALL FOUR of my pets to this clinic. Through the years I have had issues each time I went. Not with the Vet, but with the receptionist. She is very nice, but she is forgetful, doesn't listen to your needs, and makes many mistakes with paperwork, etc. I never once complained to the vets about the problem. I know that the woman is a relative and she appears to be up there in age. Unfortunately, she did not translate the problems I was having with my cat correctly. She told the vet the cat was there because of weight loss, ear mites, and nail trimming. The only reason I took my cat there was because of the weight loss, and I mentioned to her that he was there a few weeks before for ear mites. Next thing I knew, the cat and bill were brought out to my car (Corona) and they charged me for ear mite flushing, nail trimming, and for worm treatment. They said that his chart showed he never had a worm treatment so they did it in case he had them and that was the reason for the weight loss. The vet never once came out to speak with me. they charged me for three procedures that were not necessary, I didn't ask for, and were never discussed with me. I was upset, not so much about the cost, but the fact that nothing was done for my cat. If the vet would have done a true exam, he would have found out that my cat had jaundice and his breath smelled. Jaundice, smelly breath, and weight loss are indications of liver disease. I didn't know this until I took my cat to another vet who gave him an exam and came outside to speak to me.At any rate, I called Keokuk County Veterinary Clinic and asked to speak to the vet that seen my cat and I told him of my concerns with the receptionist not communicating about our needs and of pass problems with her mistakes and why I hadn't complained before this event. The vet did not apologize, did not want to listen, and offered to pay back the charge for the nail trim. I told him it is not about the money. I never was rude, never raised my voice, and I told him that he needs to know what goes on in his front office.so a few days later I received a certified letter from the clinic that says, Unfortunately, your behavior and interactions with our personnel have made it impossible for the doctors and staff and as a result of this, we will be unable to provide any further medical care for your pets.I am blown away! My behavior? I did nothing wrong. I received poor service and complained. Meanwhile by the time I was able to give my cat the care he didn't so desperately he almost died and still may. So beware! If my cat dies I will be holding them responsible. May 22 · Eugenia Freedain
