---For pet owners in Washington, choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision, and the feedback provided by local clients offers a valuable perspective on what to expect from Lakewood Veterinary Hospital. The most consistent positive feedback centers on the staff's kindness and the hospital's affordable pricing. As one reviewer stated, "The staff are super friendly and caring. The prices are also really good." This combination of a compassionate team and manageable costs makes the hospital a compelling option, particularly for those on a budget or seeking a no-frills approach to essential care. The feeling of trust and the patient, caring nature of the team, as highlighted by a client who brings both their cat and dog, are invaluable qualities that can make a stressful situation much easier.
However, it is also essential to address the concerns raised in some of the reviews. One highly detailed review expressed serious concerns about a veterinarian’s professional conduct, citing a heavy smell of marijuana and repetitive questioning. This led the client to decide not to return despite their affection for the rest of the staff. This kind of feedback is critical for prospective clients to consider. While it is important to note that this may be an isolated incident or pertain to a specific staff member, it does raise a question about the overall consistency of care.
In conclusion, Lakewood Veterinary Hospital is a place with a clear split in its reputation. The support staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and compassion, and the prices are considered very reasonable. This makes it a great choice for routine services like nail trims, flea control, and general care for new pets. The hospital’s ability to handle basic surgery and dentistry is also a plus. However, for pet owners who require absolute certainty in the professional conduct of every individual they encounter, or for those with pets requiring very complex or advanced care, the negative feedback about the veterinarian's behavior should be weighed carefully. For many, the positive aspects of the staff and the great prices will make it a worthwhile and valuable resource for their pet's health.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The staff are super friendly and caring. The prices are also really good. I've gone here several times in the past few years, but I won't be returning any longer. On two occasions now, the vet has smelled heavily of weed and has asked the same question multiple times in a row. I'm not talking just a few, I mean he'll ask a question and not even 30 seconds he'll ask the same thing. The first time he did this, I thought I was being punked. He went on for at least 10 min, asking every 30-60 seconds if my pet was eating OK and staying hydrated. I said yes, but then he would keep asking that exact same question. My husband had a good experience when he went in, so I thought maybe my encounter was an isolated incident. But no... our last appointment, the vet started to do the same exact thing. At least this time my husband was there to witness it. He has insisted we get a new vet now. I hate that because I do adore the rest of the staff, but getting high during work hours when you're a veterinarian is unacceptable. I'm 420 friendly, but when you're in charge of little lives then you need to wait until you're at home. I do wish you all the best of luck.
August 19 · Iris T (Meep)Take my cat and dog there and my cat has had a little more care and the doctor there truly cares and is very patient as well. The whole team there makes it very easy with a stressful situation. Prices are great and care is amazing. Best vet around. Thanks from David and Oscar
August 26 · DaveThe staff & doc are kind and knowledgeable. I went in to have a mass cut off my dog’s leg and as we were almost done we found a second one. They took care of it in the same visit for an extremely reasonable price, including biopsy fee. They definitely go the extra mile for your pet, highly recommend!
July 21 · Magenta DruryWe love Dr. Bob and all of his staff. They take such great care of our pets. We really appreciate how he went above and beyond to figure out what was going on with our Beagle Stewie and how he has taken such great care of our newest family member Rocky our Corgi. Thank you and your staff for everything you do!
May 31 · Jessica ClementzI have been going to Dr. Bob for years. I trust his opinion and care for my Jack Russell, Riley. His staff are all so nice, very capable, and helpful.
