Established in 1997 and led by the knowledgeable and compassionate Dr. Chuck Barry, the center operates with a clear mission: to provide the utmost care for beloved pets, ensuring their health and happiness throughout their lives.
The practice is distinguished by its ability to offer a sophisticated range of medical and surgical services, including advanced options like **Laser Surgery** and **Acupuncture**, while maintaining a heartfelt, family-oriented approach. This blend of modern technology and genuine compassion has earned the clinic a stellar reputation, particularly in emergency situations. One notable testament comes from a client whose cat was facing a life-threatening urinary blockage; the client stated that Dr. Barry and his team were "phenomenal and saved his life," providing immediate attention and proactive communication even before the client arrived home. This dedication to rapid, high-stakes care underscores the clinic's readiness for **Emergency And Critical Care**.
Another core value that resonates deeply with the Missouri community is the clinic's commitment to affordability and transparency. As one grateful client put it, the practice is led by "A vet who actually cares about all animals, doesn't charge insane amounts to provide necessary care, and overall wants the best for your pet." This ethos confirms that Lifetime Animal Center prioritizes the animal's health above maximizing profit.
Beyond critical care, the team's commitment to the emotional needs of pet owners is profound. Clients who have faced the difficult decision of saying goodbye to a beloved pet speak highly of the staff's knowledge and empathy, noting that the people at Lifetime "literally made my heart explode with their compassion and knowledge" during such a painful time. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- If we could leave a 10 star we would. My cat Boots, had a urinary blockage and Dr. Barry and his team, were phenomenal and saved his life. A urinary blockage for male cats, requires emergency care and within 5 minutes of us dropping him off, he was seen and Dr. Barry called to let us know what treatment needed to be done. We hadn't even arrived home yet!Throughout our cats hospital stay, Dr. Barry messaged me everyday with updates (which we are so thankful for as we were worried/stressed about his condition). We knew Boots was receiving the best care possible and are so happy we chose to bring him here.I had done research on the type of treatment he recieved and the prices were insance at around $2k-$4k. Our cat is part of our family, so money didn't matter, but our total was no where near that! Plus, they offer a military discount. A vet who actually cares about all animals, doesn't charge insane amounts to provide necessary care, and overall wants the best for your pet, is a vet anyone should want! Thanks again Dr. Barry and your team! Boots has been doing well with your suggestions and is happy to be home ❤️ April 04 · Brittany Nawn
- The people at lifetime literally made my heart explode with their compassion and knowledge. Very thankful. We had to do a hard thing and let our baby cross the rainbow bridge 🥰 July 08 · Shaiann
- **My other dog experienced a horribly botched neuter surgery at a city vet that caused a lot of grief, making me anxious to take my pets anywhere, so I am compelled to post this positive review.**Vet clinics can hold associations of nervousness, sadness, or trauma for owners as well as their pets. A good facility realizes this and treats their clients - both animal and human - with the TLC each situation requires. Lifetime is a wonderful place filled with lovely and professional staff. Even on my first visit with them, there were no issues nor concerns with leaving my Cane Corso there to have her spay procedure done. They even have a little candle setup at the front desk that recognizes when someone is saying goodbye to their pet and asks for respect and well wishes for them. Clean lobby, friendly personnel, and great explanations of all paperwork round out a positive experience. I would recommend this location to anyone with a dog or cat that needs to be seen. Thanks Lifetime staff for taking care of our pup today! 💛 April 23 · Allison Ross
- I am extremely disturbed by the lack of care my sweet girl Journey received — or rather, didn’t receive — from Lifetime Animal Hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.That morning, I called after she began struggling to keep water down and had difficulty using the bathroom. I told the staff she had eaten a rib bone on Sunday afternoon but didn’t show any concerning signs until late Monday night. I was told to bring her in as an emergency case.I checked Journey in at 8:10 a.m. That was the last time I saw her alive.By 10:29 a.m., I still hadn’t heard anything, so I called to check in. I was shocked to learn that X-rays hadn’t even been started — nearly two and a half hours later — despite her being labeled an emergency. At 12:23 p.m., the vet (Dr. Keairnes) called to tell me there appeared to be something Journey couldn’t pass and that they planned to manually remove it and administer IV fluids. I was relieved to finally have a plan in place to help her.I asked for an estimate to prepare for pickup. Once I asked about the cost, everything changed. I was transferred to (presumably) the office manager, who made me feel like I was a burden for simply asking for a breakdown of charges. Then at 1:09 p.m. — just 46 minutes later — I received a call saying Journey had collapsed and passed away. How did she go from having a treatment plan to collapsing in less than an hour? How was nothing done sooner? She was dropped off as an emergency, yet it took over four hours before anything happened. To add insult to injury, I was charged an emergency fee — but Journey never received urgent care. She waited for hours. Their lack of urgency, poor communication, and lack of compassion cost my baby her life.Lifetime Animal Clinic failed Journey. And they failed me. July 28 · Jadaya Sirmons
- This has been one of my best veterinary experiences. My dog Jade had an emergency, the staff were very warm and caring to both myself and my pet, even going so far as to let me in when she was put under and when she came out of surgery. They kept me up to date on her condition and she is doing wonderfully now. They saved my dog’s life, and have definitely become my new regular vet, despite being a half hour away. They’re worth the drive. Thank you Dr. Keairnes and staff! April 29 · Patrick Decker
