Long Lake Animal Hospital & Lakeside Pet Resort Reviews
Almost every time we came in my dog was on 50mg of Trazadone because he was always stressed and scared, understandable. The doctor even said to double that, which if had listened, he wouldnt be able to even get up and go outside, eat or drink. Every appointment was difficult and he'd get reactive. One time one of the doctors held him so tight and he was so stressed his eyes were red and i was told it was normal but i had NEVER seen it like that before on any dog. I could hear them talking bad about us behind that door, and I could hear when I let them bring him into the back for the first time behind that door. I don't know what they did to him back there but I heard him cry, scream and growl and they brought him back on one of their leashes and blamed me, him, and his harness for how he acted. I told them he does better with me, it was still a nightmare, but it got done. After that experience I tried somewhere else. If we were the problem then why isn't he as scared, nervous or reactive at this new vet? He has had multiple appointments at the new vet already and his behavior is completely different. Same medication to calm him, but he will actually walk into the building, let's the techs do what they have to and he seems much happier and better behaved where we're at now. It's really sad how once the old doctor retired, the whole atmosphere changed. If I could rate it lower I would.
Jul 03, 2025 · Victoria KrajewskiI was referred to this vet by a friend after getting my first kitten and I’ve been going here since. They’ve now taken care of all 3 of my babies who are happy and most importantly healthy. All of the staff were kind, knowledgeable and punctual. The waits aren’t bad (considering it is a doctor’s office, so I assume to wait) and is always worth it. I had tons of questions and Hannah was so sweet and helpful, she didn’t rush me and went above and beyond to help me with any concerns or questions I had. She was extra sweet to my babies which is a big thing for me when it comes to finding the right vet for my pets. I’ve been coming here since before the old doctor left and although there are some changes I have high hopes to see where this place goes especially because they kept the old staff who are all so so nice (which is one of my favorite reasons for going). Great prices for quality work! I have not had a single problem with them and they always made it clear that if I did that they would do everything they could to help. It isn’t the biggest facility but the people like Hannah and quality work and care make up for it!!👍🏼😍
Feb 01, 2019 · Tina NFYI- your exam rooms are not soundproof. When you go in the back and talk about us and our pet, we can hear everything. Perhaps you should talk to your clients and allow them to ask questions instead of talking over them and making assumptions. The first time you talked about us I let it slide, but this is the 2nd time so we will be looking for another vet now.
Jun 13, 2025 · Caitie McFarlandThank you for your companionship ! and years of service over the years. Long lake animal hospital! Is recommend from our family to yours thank you again Robert
Aug 01, 2024 · Robert EmmonsDr. Kunic and staff are the best!Short Version: I had been taking my dog to a chain veterinary vet for the first several years of his life. It is unfortunate that we have now lost our family pet Duke, because the care given at Long Lake Animal Hospital was above and beyond. Dr. Kunic cared enough for our dog that he reached out to a larger network of Veterinarians for assistance in diagnosis and treatment options. This included Dr. Kunic calling us twice a day checking on Duke the last couple weeks to see how he was doing. My kids who grew up with the dog wouldn't even do that.Longer Version:When our family dog Duke became ill, the chain vet repeated the same test providing what they called an inconclusive result and encouraged the same test to be run again. After the second test, with the same lack of action and suggesting we do a third test a week later, I took Duke to Long Lake providing the same test results. Dr. Kunic was able to identify the issue and start treatment. Unfortunately, our Duke suffered and wasn't responding to the medicine provided. Dr. Kunic then reached out to a network with other Vets (several times over two weeks) looking for explanation and other treatment options. We tried a couple but eventually had to end Duke's suffering. It wasn't easy for us, and we could see the sadness with Dr. Kunic and staff as well.I would certainly recommend Long Lake Animal Hospital to friends and have already done so. They are pet people who will care for your pet as much as their own.
