★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We arrived around five in the evening sat in the room they put us in for almost two hours. doctor Armes was condescending and belittling. we had told her when we came in that our cat was in active labor ( this is also her first litter) we just wanted to make sure she was okay because she had been in labor for about four hours. we were told by several staff members that she was not in labor. she had the kittens in my car on the way home. ( only a 30 minute drive). all they wanted was our money because Dr. Armes kept insisting that she do tests that were not needed. I would not recommend this place at all.
August 18 · kendyll lambI highly recommend North Alabama Veterinary Emergency and Specialty to anyone who needs emergency care after hours! I called and Autumn (receptionist) immediately suggested she take my dog to the back to see the doctor (even before I started the paperwork) He was having an allergic reaction and we were losing him, FAST. Dr Armes came out after getting him situated and assured me I reacted quickly enough that he would be okay.A couple hours later, my puppy was released and two days later, he’s doing so much better. The supporting staff are great too; you can tell they love what they do and are invested in the care and treatments of your fur babies. In these highly emotional and scary moments, it’s refreshing to see everyone in all positions responsive and moving with thoughtful urgency. I hope I never have to use them again, BUT in an emergency I am SO glad and relieved in advance that there’s a team in place within 5 minutes of my house, ready willing and able to help.
July 03 · IshaKIFirst time using this emergency vet, and I was very happy with the service. My very elderly cat was exhibiting some alarming symptoms (which turned out to be just a 12 hour thing - she was fine the next day), and Dr. Armes put my concerns at ease. She spent plenty of time with me and my cat and discussed her condition and possible causes. Highly recommended.
April 16 · Lawrence Taylor-DuncanWe brought our dog in on Saturday night March 8th not knowing what was happening with him. The staff was great. Especially the Vet that was on that night. They monitored him, did imaging, and then when she had to break horrible news to us that he was suffering from bloat with gdv (torsion and twisting of the stomach) she did her best to get us connected with a surgeon who could provide our dog with the emergency surgery he needed to save his life. She was kind to us, she was comforting to us, and she even called us several days later to ask how our boy was doing. If it weren’t for her diligence we could have lost him. I hope we never have another veterinary emergency ever again, but if we do we will definitely be back here.
March 17 · levyExcellent experience from the moment we walked through the front door! Each staff person was kind and attentive to our concerns with our pup. They clearly communicated each step of their process and provided clear information. Thankfully with their care and treatment plan, our pup is on the mend! Absolutely would HIGHLY recommend their services and staff!
