Paws at Peace LLC Introduce
For any pet parent in Indiana, one of the most difficult and heartbreaking decisions you may ever face is saying goodbye to a beloved companion. The end-of-life journey for a pet is deeply personal and filled with a unique kind of grief. Often, the final moments are spent in an unfamiliar clinical environment, which can add unnecessary stress and fear for a pet who is already frail. The desire to provide a peaceful, dignified farewell in a familiar and comforting setting is a wish that resonates deeply with many pet owners. This is where a specialized and compassionate veterinary service can make a profound difference, transforming a moment of pain into a peaceful and loving memory, surrounded by everything familiar and loved. Having a dedicated professional who understands this specific need and is equipped to handle it with grace and empathy is an invaluable resource for our community.
Paws at Peace LLC is a veterinary practice in North Liberty, IN, that is dedicated to this specific and profoundly important service: compassionate at-home euthanasia. Their mission is to provide pets with a peaceful and gentle passing in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by the people and places they love most. The clinic, led by dedicated professionals like Dr. Katy Harris and Dr. Jessy, focuses on creating an experience that minimizes fear and maximizes dignity for the pet. This specialized service is not a part of a general veterinary practice; it is a dedicated offering that allows for a calm and unhurried process, giving families all the time they need to say their goodbyes. The team's understanding of the emotional weight of this decision is evident in the compassionate way they guide families through the entire process, from the initial consultation to aftercare support.

Paws at Peace LLC is based in North Liberty, IN, with a primary address at 64260 Liberty Trail, North Liberty, IN 46554. While this is their official location, it's important to note that their primary service is at-home euthanasia, meaning the veterinary care is delivered to your residence. This mobile model is a key component of their service, as it allows them to bring the comfort of a peaceful passing directly to the pet's familiar environment. The physical address serves as a base of operations, but their service area is designed to reach families in and around North Liberty and the wider Indiana region. This business model inherently prioritizes convenience and comfort by removing the stressful trip to a veterinary clinic.
Even with their mobile service model, public data on their physical location confirms a commitment to accessibility. The clinic has a wheelchair-accessible car park, which is a thoughtful feature for any client who may need to visit their office for a consultation or for aftercare arrangements. The availability of a toilet as an amenity also speaks to their professionalism and consideration for their clients. The fact that their core service is delivered directly to the client's home means that their entire service is, by design, as accessible as possible. This approach removes all of the physical barriers that might prevent a pet owner from choosing an in-clinic procedure, making a peaceful farewell an option for everyone.
Paws at Peace LLC specializes in a single, deeply important service: at-home euthanasia. This specialization allows them to focus all of their energy, expertise, and compassion on providing a peaceful and dignified end-of-life experience for pets and their families. This is a very different service from what is offered at a general veterinary clinic; it is a highly sensitive and specialized form of veterinary care. The team understands that this process is more than a medical procedure; it is a final act of love and kindness. The service is structured to be as gentle and stress-free as possible, ensuring that the pet's final moments are calm and free of pain. The process is not rushed, and the family is given all the time they need. While the service itself is focused, the support they provide around it is comprehensive, including consultations and aftercare coordination. The core service they provide is:
- At-home Euthanasia, performed with compassion and dignity in the comfort of the pet's home.
The service is designed to be a two-step process to ensure the pet's comfort. First, a sedative is administered to help the pet relax and fall into a peaceful sleep. Once the pet is fully at ease, the final medication is given. This method ensures that the pet feels no fear or pain and is surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of their home. The veterinary professionals also provide guidance and support on a variety of related matters, such as managing the final day with the pet, and they work with local crematoriums to handle aftercare, removing that burden from the grieving family. This holistic approach to end-of-life care is what makes Paws at Peace such an invaluable resource. They handle the difficult logistics so that the family can focus on saying a loving goodbye.
The most important features of Paws at Peace LLC are not found in a list of medical equipment, but in the compassionate and professional way they approach their work. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I don't know where to start. Saying goodbye to our best friend patches was incredible hard and something we postponed a few times. We had multiple talks with Dr. Harris through text she was compassionate and understanding of all the questions.Today we said goodbye and all I can say is how thankful we were to have found Paws at Peace DR.Jessy was amazing. The moment she arrived patches seemed comfortable. Even though his body was weak his nose was not. He sniffed out the treats like he was on a mission. Dr Jessy was instantly one of the family. Patches never seemed scared of what was going on all he felt was love and compassion. This was the best decision we have made I know in my heart patches was comfortable and knew he was surrounded by all his loved ones. Dr Jessy made sure to give us all the time we needed and did a few extra prints for the kids which they love. Thank you Dr. Jessy for giving us a beautiful day to say good bye to our favorite boy.
June 06 · Kevin KelleyDuring the most heartbreaking decision of our lives, Dr. Katy Harris provided exceptional compassion and care. After 17½ years with our beloved schnoodle sisters Kaya and Irie, we faced the inevitable choice that every pet parent dreads.Paws at Peace allowed our girls to pass peacefully in their own home, surrounded by everything familiar and loved. There was no fear, no unfamiliar clinical environment - just gentle dignity in the place where they felt safest. We are forever grateful for her kindness during our goodbye and the continued support as we navigate this loss. Highly recommend for any family facing this difficult decision.
August 10 · April NeelySaying goodbye to our beloved dog Harley Bear was one of the hardest moments our family has ever faced—but thanks to Dr. Katy Harris, it was also one of the most peaceful. From the moment she arrived, Dr. Harris carried herself with such compassion, professionalism, and grace. She understood the weight of what we were going through and handled every part of the process with deep respect—not just for us, but for Harley too. She didn’t just make a difficult situation manageable… she made it meaningful.Because of her, we won’t remember Harley’s final moments in pain or sorrow. We’ll remember the peace, the gentleness, and the sense of love that surrounded him. It became a moment that reflected everything animals teach us—kindness, loyalty, and unconditional love.If you ever find yourself facing the heartbreaking decision to help your dog pass peacefully, know that Dr. Katy Harris is exactly the person you’ll want by your side. She brought comfort to our home in a time of distress, and we will be forever grateful.
May 06 · Joe MehlDr. Katy was absolutely wonderful! She made a very sad and difficult process much easier. I will forever be grateful my sweet dog, Benny, went so peacefully at home.
May 07 · Ann MeierShe was absolutely wonderful. Very respectful. Talked us through everything and what to expect. Afterwards she helped make prints for us and she had a certain level of respect and care while doing it. I really appreciate what they were able to do for us. Being able to give my Gunter peace at home was a true blessing.
