Pickens Animal Rescue Veterinary Hospital Introduce
In the beautiful North Georgia mountains, our pets are more than companions; they are an integral part of our daily lives. When it comes to their health and well-being, finding a veterinarian who is not only skilled but also deeply compassionate and committed to the community is crucial. In Jasper, Georgia, Pickens Animal Rescue Veterinary Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and care for dogs and cats. This non-profit veterinary hospital was created with a mission to serve the community, providing high-quality, affordable care with a special focus on reducing the number of unwanted pets through low-cost spay and neuter programs. The clinic's unique foundation, built upon the efforts of Pickens Animal Rescue, means that every service provided, from a routine check-up to a surgical procedure, is performed with the heart of a rescue organization.
The clinic's strong community ties are immediately apparent in the positive feedback from clients. One reviewer described the "mom and son" vibe, highlighting the friendly and personal atmosphere that makes a visit feel less like a clinical appointment and more like a family interaction. The veterinarian is praised for being "very informative and understanding," and for having a "deep love for Dogs." This level of empathy and genuine care is a significant factor in building trust with pet owners. The commitment to animal welfare is so strong that the hospital is willing to work with pet owners on payment plans, as one grateful client noted, "willing to take a temporary loss to ensure my dog doesn’t suffer is an absolute win for me." This dedication to preventing animal suffering, regardless of a client's financial situation, is a core value that makes this hospital a truly special place in Georgia.
However, it is important to note that as a community-focused, non-profit organization, the clinic may face challenges with scheduling and capacity. While the staff is dedicated and caring, a reviewer's experience of a missed appointment highlights the importance of communication and confirms the clinic's high demand. This is not a reflection on the quality of care, but rather a reminder of the need for patients to be proactive and understanding when scheduling visits. The clinic's mission-driven nature, while a huge benefit to the community, can also mean that they are a very busy practice. Therefore, it is always a good idea to confirm your appointment and maintain open communication with the staff to ensure a smooth visit.
Located conveniently at 371 N Main St, Jasper, GA 30143, USA, the Pickens Animal Rescue Veterinary Hospital is easily accessible to residents throughout Pickens County. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I highly recommend this vet. To start staff is very friendly, I believe it is a mom and son and if they aren’t that’s the vibe ya get. I admire this vet and I will definitely be using him for as long as God lets me have dogs. He is very informative and understanding. I can tell that he is in this because he has a deep love for Dogs and wants to spread as much positive help and health as he can. They worked with me on a payment plan for hambone. To me willing to take a temporary loss to ensure my dog doesn’t suffer is an absolute win for me. You are wasting time and money going somewhere else.
November 18 · Kevin McswineyHad been taking my old dog here cause she is not doing very well, finally i made what was supposed to be her final appointment as her quality of life is diminished at this point. We get there and they tell us they cannot see us today cause they forgot to put the appointment down and they are booked. So now my dog gets to suffer until we can have an appointment scheduled somewhere else because someone failed to put us in the schedule, ridiculous. It’s been years and I will still never forget this awful day, I miss you Chloe

July 21 · CHOSEN ONEDr. Tyler is a fantastic vet and really took care of my 14 year old baby as well as my mom and I who were so stressed. My dog had an ulcerated tumor that had to be removed surgically or we would have had to put him down. They were able to get our dog in the very next day and removed it, saving our fur buddy and allowing him to continue living a high quality of life. Jennifer was also so sweet and reassuring. Everyone was so kind and the price was beyond affordable. Thank you!!!
September 08 · Katherine ManettasThe staff have always been super friendly and helpful. Dr. Tyler was very knowledgable and seemed to really care. I thought for sure I was going to have bad news, but Dr. Tyler turned it around and was able to save my kitty :) Lots of thanks!
