Choosing a veterinary provider is a deeply personal decision, and understanding a clinic's strengths, as well as areas where communication might be challenging, is crucial for fostering a successful and supportive relationship for the long-term well-being of our pets.

Concord Street typically offers straightforward navigation, which is a benefit for those transporting pets, especially if they are anxious or unwell. Accessible parking is generally expected at community veterinary clinics, contributing to a smoother arrival and departure process. The central location helps ensure that essential veterinary care is within reach for many New Hampshire families, facilitating routine visits and timely attention when needed.
Based on available public information and client experiences, Private Roots Veterinary PLLC operates as a general veterinary practice, primarily focusing on companion animals such as dogs, cats, and lagomorphs (rabbits). They aim to provide essential medical care to help maintain the health and well-being of pets.
General Veterinary Care: This foundational service includes routine physical examinations, wellness checks, and preventative care measures. These regular visits are crucial for monitoring a pet's overall health and detecting potential issues early.
Spay and Neuter Surgeries: As highlighted by a client's "excellent experience" with a cat spay, this is a key service offered, focusing on patient comfort and recovery.
Vaccinations: Essential vaccinations are provided to protect pets from common and serious diseases, tailored to individual needs.
Diagnostic Services: While specific details on diagnostic equipment are not broadly available in public reviews, a general practice veterinarian typically utilizes various diagnostic tools like in-house laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and potentially external lab services to aid in accurate diagnosis.
General Practice Medicine: Addressing common illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions that affect companion animals. This involves prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
Feline Medicine: Dr. Jennifer Estle, a veterinarian associated with the clinic, has a particular passion for feline medicine, indicating a focused interest in the unique needs of cats.
Theriogenology Services: Public records for Dr. Jennifer Estle also indicate a specialization in Theriogenology, which is the branch of veterinary medicine concerned with reproduction. This includes services such as artificial insemination (various methods), breeding soundness examinations for males, castration, cryptorchid castration, and C-sections, particularly for canine and feline patients. This suggests a capability for reproductive health services.
It is important to note that some past client feedback indicates potential challenges with scheduling timely appointments for urgent issues and with the transfer of medical records for specialist referrals. Prospective clients with complex or ongoing conditions should discuss these aspects directly with the clinic to ensure their specific needs can be met.
Compassionate Patient Care: As highlighted by a client whose cat was spayed, the staff and veterinarians are described as "genuinely supportive" and demonstrating true care for the "well-being of their patients." The "kindness and expertise" received during a sensitive procedure are deeply appreciated, leading to a "beautiful" recovery for the cat. This indicates a strong commitment to the comfort and recovery of the animals.
Professional and Knowledgeable Staff: The veterinary professionals are noted for their "expertise" and ability to answer questions, ensuring pet owners "felt comfortable with the process." This professionalism contributes to a positive clinical experience.
Commitment to Communication (for some clients): While some clients experienced challenges, at least one review praised the staff for being "prompt in communication" and taking the time to explain procedures thoroughly, which is vital for building trust.
Focus on Small Animal Practice: The clinic's primary focus on companion animals like dogs, cats, and rabbits allows for specialized knowledge and facilities tailored to these species.
Reproductive Health Expertise: The mentioned interest and procedures in Theriogenology (reproduction) suggest that the clinic offers a specialized level of care for breeding animals, which can be a significant highlight for breeders or those planning to breed their pets.
It is important to acknowledge that some former clients, particularly those who experienced the transition in ownership, reported frustrations with office organization, communication regarding appointments, and the processing of medical records. While the current ownership aimed for a "fresh start," these experiences highlight the importance of clear communication and prompt responsiveness in veterinary care.

I had an excellent experience with Private Roots Veterinary Clinic when my cat was spayed. From start to finish, the staff was professional, genuinely supportive, and prompt in communication. My cat recovered beautifully, and I couldn't be more grateful for the compassionate care she received. Highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner looking for top-notch veterinary care!
Feb 06, 2025 · Katie RonzanoWe were longtime clients of this location under the previous ownership. (6 dogs in total) While we appreciated Dr. June’s excellent care, we ultimately left due to repeated frustrations with the office staff—communication and organization were consistently lacking. Unfortunately, despite Dr. June’s professionalism, a clinic is only as strong as its weakest link. After the practice changed ownership, we heard positive feedback and decided to give it another chance. We wanted to support a fresh start and hoped things had improved.Sadly, our experience didn’t reflect that.We attempted to reestablish care by physically bringing in hard copies of our pets’ medical records, only to be told they needed to be emailed directly from our previous vet. We followed through and had the records sent, thinking everything was in place. One of our pets urgently needed to see a specialist for ongoing medical issues. The staff told us they couldn’t send a referral until our pet had been seen by the vet—yet they also couldn’t offer an appointment for several weeks. With no clear path forward, we found a specialist ourselves and requested Private Roots to send the necessary records. Again, they refused, saying they couldn’t send anything before a consult. Fortunately, our old vet stepped up and provided the records directly to the specialist. At that point, we decided to switch to another local vet altogether. That new clinic tried to get the records from Private Roots but were told they didn’t have them—despite us having provided both physical and emailed copies earlier.Thankfully, the new vet was understanding and accepted our original paper records. In times when you’re worried, overwhelmed, and seeking expert guidance for your animal’s care, you shouldn’t feel like you’re jumping through hoops. Veterinary care is as much about empathy and responsiveness as it is about medicine. Sadly, that was missing from our experience here.We hope the clinic finds its footing—but we won’t be returning.
Jul 04, 2025 · Local TravelerOmg! Dr Estle is amazing! I can’t say enough good things about her. My dog Patton had a bad experience with another vet clinic and I decided to come here instead. From the moment I walked through the door to the care Patton received was incredible. Dr Estle was so calming with Patton I couldn’t believe the difference it made in his demeanor.I found my forever vet.Thank you so much for making such a positive experience not just for Patton but for me and my family.
Mar 14, 2024 · Nancy sweeneyDr. Estle is a rockstar. Our pit mix has been struggling with skin issues, ear infections, and UTIs etc. We have been to numerous specialists who sent us to other specialists with no real diagnosis or solution. We were looking for a vet that wouldn’t look at one problem but one who would see that all these problems were part of a whole. That is exactly what Dr. Estle did. She listened to all the symptoms and what other vets had recommended and without expensive tests took the time to explain that this breed/mix is prone to skin allergies and simply cannot tolerate normal ‘good’ bacteria that other dogs can. She sent us home with a skin allergy medication and a skin support supplement, with hopes that we could reduce the dose of the medication and rely more on the supplement. After two weeks we feel like we have been given a new dog. His skin and ears are clear, he has more energy than we can remember, and so far no signs of his frequent UTI. We cannot say enough good things out Dr. Estle and her practice. Thank you.
Feb 21, 2024 · Chelsea RobergeDr. June is the best veterinarian in the area. Bar none. She and her staff have the biggest hearts for both pets and pet owners. My husband and I just recently lost our two beloved elderly kitties. Dr. June guided us through the process with such love and professionalism. Much thanks and praise to all of them! They made an intensely painful time easier to handle. Any new four legged additions to our family are definitely joining Dr. June's family!
