For pet owners in Michigan, choosing Romeo Veterinary Hospital is an easy decision, and the reasons are clearly outlined in the experiences of their clients. The first review, detailing the care for a dog named Coco, is a powerful endorsement of the hospital's thoroughness and empathy. The story of Dr. Haddock’s unexpected discovery of a matted hairball during a routine rectal exam, which was the underlying cause of the dog's symptoms, highlights a level of care that goes "above and beyond." This meticulousness and the doctor's ability to make the owner feel heard and not "overreacting" are invaluable qualities that build deep trust. It's a testament to the staff's dedication to the animal's health, no matter how "gross" the task.
The second review, from a cat owner, further illustrates the hospital’s compassionate approach. Cats are notoriously sensitive to new environments, and the fact that a normally shy cat felt "semi-relaxed" and even seemed to "like each person who worked with him" speaks volumes about the gentle and skilled handling by the staff. The simple gestures, like calling the cat "handsome" and being "so gentle," create a low-stress environment that is crucial for a successful vet visit. This review solidifies the hospital’s reputation not just for medical expertise, but for emotional intelligence and genuine love for animals.
In conclusion, Romeo Veterinary Hospital stands as a beacon of exceptional and compassionate veterinary care in Michigan. From its convenient location and accessible facilities to its comprehensive services and a team that treats every pet with kindness and respect, the hospital provides a level of service that is hard to match. For both routine care and unexpected health issues, you can trust that your pet will receive the thorough and loving attention they deserve.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Exceptional Care!! Coco (dog) has been a patient at the Rochester location since 2020. Rochester was booked and so we visited the Romeo facility. The staff was amazing as usual and Dr. Haddock provided exceptional care. I suspected that Coco had a bout of pancreatitis, which was confirmed. What I did not expect was a rather large amount of matted hair in her rectum. Dr. Haddock removed it and said this is the reason she does a rectal exam. Gross as it maybe it exemplifies the level of care that is provided. She was very kind, listened and did not make me feel like I was overreacting for coming in.
March 26 · Janeen A.Amazing with my cat, who normally hides around company. He really seemed to like each person who worked with him and was even semi-relaxed. I bet he felt like a king because everyone called him handsome, they were so gentle. He only hid when no one was paying him attention which was an easy fix. Definitely coming back.
March 19 · Tamara McCueJust recently we had to put our 15 1/2 year old golden down. We normally see Dr Duncan out of Oakland Animal Hospital in downtown Rochester, but he also works out of Romeo Veterinary Hospital on Friday’s. We decided to go to Romeo because of the convenience & we were beyond pleasantly surprised as to their professionalism & empathy for our situation. Very kind staff, all of them!!! They use Faithful Companion Pet Cremation & they were awesome. We put our dog down on Friday, they called on Sunday to let us know Zoey’s ashes were ready & did we want them delivered the following day, to our home or the Vet!! I can’t recommend Romeo Vet & Dr Duncan more!!! They made this very difficult decision so much more comfortable with their professionalism.
May 17 · Angi OleskieVery clean and punctual Vet Office. Deeply caring and treated my dog as if it was their own. Caring and made my dog was comfortable before the exam. Highly recommend this veterinarian. I drive 40 minutes and its totally worth it!
August 29 · Kathy FOutstanding staff, wonderful, caring Vet Techs and the Veterinarians are the most kind, compassionate and knowledgeable Doctors. My Pets have always been seen at the Oakland Animal Hospital in Rochester which is a part of the newest location, in downtown Romeo now. We've been seeing the Vets in Rochester for over 28 yrs and now the new location which is extremely convenient for us!Highly recommend Romeo Veterinary Clinic, A +++++++
