Spragg Veterinary Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in the Rogersville and greater Missouri area, the **Spragg Veterinary Clinic** stands out as a unique and highly valued provider of **veterinary care**. Functioning as a long-standing **Animal hospital** established in 1959, the clinic is deeply rooted in the community and known for its distinctly "old school" style of practice. This approach prioritizes **great vet care at a reasonable price** over elaborate frills or constant upselling, a philosophy deeply appreciated by local users. Customers frequently praise the clinic for its exceptional knowledge and straightforward advice, confirming that they "aren’t there to try to sell you expensive food" or push unnecessary services.
The clinic prides itself on efficiency and expertise. Testimonials highlight the ability of the staff to "always get me in for a visit quickly" and ensure clients are "in and out with very little wait." This streamlined service is a major convenience for busy Missouri families. While the environment is described as "no frills" and lacking the "fancy lobby" of some newer practices, the trade-off is clear: clients receive focused, highly competent care from a knowledgeable team. The clinic's commitment to community and tradition is profound, with the original practice started in 1959 by Dr. Robert Spragg, and later joined by his son, Dr. Gary Spragg, who served the area until the end of 2023. The continuation of this service, with staff like Dr. Alec Carroll, ensures the tradition of practical, excellent veterinary medicine endures.
The **Spragg Veterinary Clinic** is conveniently located at **8690 US-60, Rogersville, MO 65742, USA**. This address places it directly on a major thoroughfare, making it relatively easy to locate for local and regional clients traveling to Rogersville. However, one common piece of customer feedback is that access to the clinic, which is situated on US-60, can sometimes be challenging due to increased traffic congestion in recent years, especially during peak hours. Local users planning a visit should be mindful of traffic conditions, particularly when scheduling **Appointments** during rush hour.
Despite its "old school" operational style, the clinic has taken important steps to ensure it is fully accessible to the public. The facility includes a **Wheelchair accessible entrance**, a **Wheelchair accessible parking lot**, and a **Wheelchair accessible restroom**. This dedication to accessibility guarantees that all members of the Missouri community can comfortably and safely access the quality care their animals require. Additionally, a clean **Restroom** is available on the premises for client use. As a proactive measure to manage client flow and minimize the noted wait times, **Appointments are recommended**. By calling ahead, clients can help the clinic maintain its reputation for getting pets in and out quickly, ensuring the best possible experience.
As a dedicated **Animal hospital**, Spragg Veterinary Clinic is equipped to provide essential medical services for companion animals, including wellness, diagnostics, and surgical interventions. The clinic is also noted in some public records as being a **Mixed Practice**, which traditionally means it serves both small animals (like the cats mentioned in customer reviews) and large animals, a critical service for the agricultural nature of the surrounding Webster County region. This versatility makes it a comprehensive animal health provider for the entire family of animals—from household pets to livestock.
While the exact comprehensive list of services is typically best confirmed by direct contact, as an established **Animal hospital** and noted **Mixed Practice**, the clinic is understood to provide:
- **Routine Wellness and Preventive Care**: Including annual physical examinations and necessary **Vaccinations**.
- **Diagnostic Services**: Utilizing established methods for diagnosing illness and injury in both small and potentially large animals.
- **Surgical Procedures**: Performing common necessary surgeries, such as spays and neuters.
- **Medical Treatment**: Management and treatment of various common and complex animal diseases and conditions.
- **Large Animal Services**: Given its history and mixed-practice designation, the clinic is likely to offer services for livestock or farm animals, addressing the broader needs of the Rogersville area.
- **Medication Dispensing**: Providing necessary medications directly, often at highly competitive prices compared to high-end boutique vet offices.
The true value of the clinic lies not just in the services themselves, but in the highly experienced and knowledgeable approach of the veterinarians. Clients consistently trust the **straightforward advice** and clinical judgment, which often foregoes unnecessary extensive testing or sales pitches for expensive specialized pet food.
- **Extremely Knowledgeable Staff**: The veterinary team is highly regarded for their expertise and ability to quickly and accurately diagnose issues.
- **Reasonable Pricing**: A major highlight for the community, providing excellent care without the excessive costs often associated with elaborate facilities.
- **Old School / No Frills Approach**: Focuses resources purely on clinical care, avoiding expensive overhead from "fancy lobbies" or complex marketing efforts.
- **Efficient Service**: Clients consistently report fast appointment turnarounds with "very little wait," a significant time-saver.
- **Accessibility Focused**: Features **Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom**.
- **Community Legacy**: Founded in 1959, the clinic has a long-standing history of serving the Rogersville community and surrounding areas.
The unique culture of the clinic, which values practical advice and reasonable prices, is its greatest strength. While the loss of long-time staff members who were considered "characters" is noted by customers, the commitment to the core mission of affordable, quality vet care remains.
For scheduling or inquiries regarding your animal’s care, please reach out directly to the clinic:
- **Address**: 8690 US-60, Rogersville, MO 65742, USA
- **Phone**: (417) 753-2417 or +1 417-753-2417
- **Operating Hours**: Typically open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturday hours usually running until 4:00 PM (check for specific holiday or special hours).
- **Planning Note**: Appointments are recommended to ensure prompt service.
Choosing **Spragg Veterinary Clinic** is an excellent decision for Missouri pet owners who value **knowledgeable, straightforward, and affordable veterinary care** above all else. This **Animal hospital** is renowned for its commitment to the "old school" values of providing clinical excellence without the pressure of high-cost add-ons. Its consistent reputation for being **very reasonably priced** and providing quick service—getting clients in and out efficiently—makes it highly practical for busy families. Furthermore, the practice’s location and history suggest a proficiency in **Mixed Practice** care, which is vital for the region’s diverse animal population. If you are looking for a vet that offers clear, professional advice and focuses exclusively on your pet’s health without the distraction of a "fancy lobby" or sales pitches, the Spragg Veterinary Clinic in Rogersville, MO, is highly recommended.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I’ve been going to this vet for years. They always get me in for a visit quickly and I am always in and out with very little wait. They are a no frills, old school vet style place but are extremely knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. You aren’t paying extra for a cute receptionist behind the desk and a fancy lobby. Nor will you get emails reminding you of overdue vaccinations or being sold expensive pet food. You’re just getting great vet care at a reasonable price. If you know this going into it, you won’t be disappointed. The surly older gentleman who answered the phones sadly passed away last year. He was a character for sure and I am sure was an excellent vet in his heyday. My only complaint is that it’s always an adventure getting in and off the Hwy to this place as traffic has gotten really bad these last few years. Not their fault but not ideal especially at rush hour. June 18 · Amy Gomme
- Absolutely fabulous veterinarian! One of the best I've ever been to. Old school vibes. They give you straightforward advice and aren't there to try to sell you expensive food that they have sitting all over the place. I love them and will continue going there. Three of my four cats have been to the Spragg Veterinary Clinic and they all had excellent care. September 26 · Darla Rodgers
- Arrived at 5:20 they close at 5:30 saw the dog and got right back out.. I've used them for vet checks for puppies and coggins checks for horses... Always seem to be helpful and tell you how it is August 26 · Matt Wright
- If I could give -10000 I would. I took my Mister here because of a cough and hacking he had going on...ONLY LISTENED TO HIS HEART AND LUNGS...This man had the nerve to say his heart & lungs sounded strong 🤦🏼♀️ didn't check his throat or offer to do anything else. Said that his trachea was inflamed. Gave antibiotics and steroids. This was Friday 4-11-25. My baby passed on Sunday at 3:15 PM because this "vet" didn't do their "job". I knew I should have taken my baby somewhere else & now I am emotionally wrecked and exhausted. Don't even consider as a last resort to bring your fur babies here!! 😭😭😭😭😭 April 16 · Emberly Harrison
- Have had the most wonderful experiences here. The doctors are so kind and really care about our pets. Thankful for such good people. They’ve taken care of my Olivia so good I highly recommend them. July 19 · Lori Leimbacher
