Stone House Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in the Kansas community, **Stone House Animal Hospital** in Topeka provides a foundation of comprehensive **Veterinary care**, serving the needs of **Dogs & Cats** through all life stages. The clinic operates as a full-service **Animal Hospital**, dedicating itself to both routine **Primary Care** and critical **Pet Emergent Care**. Their extensive service list, spanning from **Regular Vaccinations** to advanced **Laser Surgery** and specialized **Complementary Therapies**, positions them as a key resource for maintaining pet health across the Topeka region.
The core philosophy of Stone House is centered on providing expert, compassionate, and transparent care. This dedication is evidenced by their willingness to go the extra mile for established clients. As one highly satisfied customer shared, after a dog became ill post-spaying, the hospital demonstrated exceptional commitment: "They kept her overnight for observation no charge due to her surgery. I picked her up the next day... She is back to 100%. This is my 4th pet that I have taken here over the years. I highly recommend Stone House." This approach to client partnership, especially during times of crisis, highlights their commitment to the pet's well-being and the owner's peace of mind.
While the focus is on excellence in medical treatment, it is important for prospective clients in Kansas to be aware of the spectrum of client experiences. Instances of dissatisfaction, particularly concerning medical record keeping and end-of-life protocols, are sometimes shared within the community. For example, one former client recounted a deeply distressing experience regarding a lapse in the recording of blood glucose levels for a diabetic pet, and another described a lack of bedside manner and communication during an end-of-life procedure. These accounts, though potentially outdated, underscore the crucial need for open communication and for pet owners to actively discuss their expectations and concerns with the staff, especially regarding complex care and sensitive procedures like **Pet End-of-Life Care**.
Ultimately, Stone House Animal Hospital remains a comprehensive **Veterinary Practice** offering a wide array of services necessary for pet ownership in Kansas. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I adopted a new family member a cane corso. I took her in for vaccination and a checkup. As usual everyone was very professional and kind and informative and upfront about pricing. The next week I took my dog to get spayed. They kept her overnight and I picked her up the next day. A day later she became ill. I took her in they kept her overnight for observation no charge due to her surgery. I picked her up the next day. It was her pain meds making her violently ill. She is back to 100%. This is my 4th pet that I have taken here over the years. I highly recommend Stone House. August 15 · kandi henderson
- If I could give them negative number I would. This place has a history for not keeping proper medical records. For example, we left our dogs there when going out of town. One of our dogs was diabetic and her care plan was told to staff, as well as written instructions. When we came to pick up our dogs they told us that they had to give her glucose a couple of times. I asked what her what her blood glucose level was and how much she was given. They could not tell me because it was not recorded in her records. Also, when my 19 year old dog had to be put down, we were taken back to the room a female vet came in with a syringe and immediately asked "are you ready?". I was giving her a kiss and telling her how much we love her. The vet left the room and said to have someone to get her when we were ready. When she came back sympathy and proper bed side manner did not exist. She gave my baby the injection, but my baby did not pass immediately, so she said she was going to due something and would be back. She came back but my baby hadn't completely passed. She said that she had other patients, then she grabbed another syringe. She took the syringe and headed straight for her heart, without asking if it was wanted. I screamed and asked what the hell she was doing. She said that she was just trying to to help her. I was so upset that as soon as she passed we went up to the counter payed the bill, they said that they would take her to the funeral home on Gage for me. We went to the pet funeral home. I was crying so hrd that I couldn't even talk. The staff at the funeral home told us that they wished we had asked them first because that was the last place they would recommend. Although, this happened years ago it still brings tears to my eyes every time I have to drive past that building. August 30 · Lorie Shumate
- Today was a very difficult day as we had to put our family pet of 14 years to sleep. The vet was very kind and straightforward about options. They stayed late so my husband could join me for the tough parts. Nothing was rushed even though we were there for a hour and a half after closing. Best part was the quiet room where they put her to sleep. Not clinical in the least and a very peaceful experience. My husband has had to put dogs down before and none of those other vets had a setting like this. Very thankful for them. (Yes there was a long wait time due to an emergency surgery but when you don’t have an appointment you’re grateful for what you can get). Thank you to all. August 02 · Michelle Atkins
- We woke up on a Saturday and within an hour our sweet Billie girl looked like this. Rushed to stone house and they took care of her right away. The entire staff was so sweet, calming and thorough. They were very affordable and even called at the end of the day to see if she had improved (she had). Very thankful for stone house!! (Photo of her doing better from today) November 24 · Marissa K
