Choosing Texas A & M University Veterinary is about more than just finding a vet; it's about making a choice for advanced, specialized care for your beloved pet. The facility's ability to handle complex medical issues, from serious injuries to intricate surgeries, sets it apart. While the costs for such advanced care can be substantial, as highlighted by a patient who described a case with an estimated cost ranging from $12,000 to $20,000 for surgery, this reflects the high level of expertise and resources being dedicated to each case. The upfront deposit policy for complex procedures, such as a $12,000 cash deposit for a surgery, and the hospitalization costs of $800-$1000 per day, are a reflection of the extensive resources required for such specialized care. These costs are a direct result of having board-certified specialists, state-of-the-art equipment, and round-the-clock professional care. The trust that is required from pet owners, particularly with the policy of isolating the pet from the owner during treatment in the back room, is a common reality in busy emergency and teaching hospital environments. The reasoning behind this, as explained by the staff, is due to the high volume of patients and limited space, ensuring that the veterinary team can focus on providing critical care without disruption. The fact that they can bring your pet out to a separate room for visits when possible shows their empathy and willingness to accommodate within the confines of a busy emergency setting. For Texans seeking a veterinary hospital that can provide everything from a simple check-up to a life-saving surgery with a team of specialists, Texas A & M University Veterinary is a premier choice that offers peace of mind and the highest level of care for your pet.

Texas A & M University Veterinary: Carroll Gwendolyn DVM Reviews
Top flight, extremely expensive veterinary care. This review is about the emergency service.I put up $6000 when my dog Spike was admitted. The estimated cost for surgery on Spike was from $12,000 to $20,000 or more. Before surgery, the clinic demanded a $12,000 cash deposit upfront. Hospitalization costs $800 to $1000 per day.The veterinarians were kind to me and explained everything with patience and clarity. I believe that they had Spike’s best interests in mind. They treated him promptly. The surgery would have involved various specialists, such as radiologists and cardiologists. Few clinics can provide such care.Despite the quality of care, I am very uncomfortable with the setup. The clinic policy is to isolate you completely from your pet; the patient is taken into a back room, and you are not allowed to see what is being done, or how your friend is reacting (ie how much pain it causes), or who is doing it, (ie a tech, vet school student, licensed vet, or board certified specialist). They do provide detailed updates when they have time. The reasoning given to me is that they are very busy, space is limited in the back room, etc. This may be the reality of an emergency clinic, but there are other possible setups. This arrangement demands huge trust in complete strangers. They will bring your pet out to a separate room, if possible, and give you time with him or her, with kind support. The staff are nice and empathetic, including when they are charging thousands of dollars to your credit card.
