The Well Dog Place Introduce
For dog owners in the California region, finding veterinary care that aligns with a holistic and natural philosophy can be a game-changer. The Well Dog Place in Claremont, led by the respected Dr. Tudor, offers a unique and specialized approach to canine health and wellness. This practice is not a traditional, full-service animal hospital but rather a veterinary care center that focuses on holistic and alternative treatments. Their mission is to provide in-depth consultations and a personalized health plan that considers the entire dog, including their lifestyle, diet, and existing medical conditions. The clinic’s philosophy is to empower pet owners with knowledge and natural solutions, believing that this approach can lead to remarkable results, even in the face of serious diagnoses like cancer. This focus on natural and holistic health sets them apart as a dedicated and compassionate partner for dog parents who seek an alternative to conventional medicine.
The Well Dog Place operates on a unique consultation-based model. Instead of a standard vet visit, Dr. Tudor offers in-depth, one-on-one sessions with the pet owner (often without the dog present to avoid distractions), to formulate a comprehensive holistic program. As one customer review highlighted, this approach can have a profound impact, as their dog, Chico, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. After traditional treatments proved costly and invasive, the owner turned to Dr. Tudor, who prescribed a series of natural tinctures. The result was remarkable: "My dog is cancer free and thriving. He's in no pain and was back to his same self after a few weeks. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr Tudor." This powerful testimonial is a testament to the effectiveness of their natural remedies and the expertise of Dr. Tudor. The practice also offers Cold Laser Therapy, a non-invasive, drug-free method to treat a variety of conditions, including arthritis, and promote healing. This mix of natural and cutting-edge treatments makes them a truly unique and valuable resource in the Claremont community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1In March 2023, my dog Chico was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (cancer). The traditional veterinarian wanted to do an invasive spinal cord procedure as well as chemotherapy. Not only had I already spent $13,000, but it would’ve cost me a lot. I decided to try natural remedies first and that’s when I found Dr Tudor. He gave me 6 different tinctures- which I thought was a lot. Turns out, a few drops of each was all it took for the cancer to be in remission a year later! My dog is cancer free and thriving. He’s in no pain and was back to his same self after a few weeks. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr Tudor. I have the upmost respect and recommendation of him.
June 13 · Vanessa RamirezSo happy I found this vet. He is very knowledgeable, patience and caring. His staff is also very nice and friendly. Taylor is super sweet and she also replies to my emails very quick. My dog has severe heart problems but i hope she respond well to the treatment ...
October 09 · Monica MaldonadoJust started taking my two dogs here and am very pleased with this holistic veterinarian. He’s very good with my dogs and takes time to explain everything. My dogs are very comfortable with Dr. Tudor.
March 25 · Kathy S.Absolutely amazing, we couldn't possibly be happier at the Well Dog. Our older dog Indiana has arthritis and Dr. Tudor was the first one to actually teach us about the condition and what can be done about it. He cares about your pocket too so don't think he will propose any unreal extravaganzas : we have been able to afford a very good treatment plan for Indiana for a very reasonable price! Also, the atmosphere is just so relaxed and welcoming, so different from so many other clinics we've been to. Crystal is also super helpful as well. No complaints whatsoever, we are just thankful for having found this great place.
November 20 · Natalia BrazaoI regret ever going to this “holistic”vet. The first time I took my 8 lb, 12 year old Yorkie, they took him to a different room and closed the door to draw his blood. I wondered why a holistic vet would do that, but figured they do that at regular vets, not Modern Animal ( another vet I take my pup to that believes in letting u stay with your pet because it’s less stressful for the pet and owner), which I thought would be also practiced at any Holistic vet. I heard my boy crying way too much and his nails scratching across the metal table. After a while of hearing him in distress I had to knock on the door. When I finally opened the door he had a muzzle on and was so stressed. He has a heart condition so of course him being stressed is very worrisome to me. I feel that there should’ve been consideration for the fact that I have a relationship with my dog and have had him since he was a puppy. Once the doctor left the room I was able to hold my boy, tell him stay and he was very still allowing the nurse to easily draw his blood. That was the first red flag. Then we tried to wean him off his diuretics since they are very bad for the kidneys and this was my main reason for coming here. To try to make a long story shorter… I feel there was a lack of communication and follow up. Sometimes I had questions and called or emailed and would not get a response until days later and after repeated attempts on my part. I feel that because of the lack of communication my dog ended up almost going back into heart failure or at the beginning stages of heart failure. His heart condition progressed as well. His heart grew even more. I don’t feel I was properly guided on the journey to get him off his diuretic and again this was the whole point for me to bring him here. The lack of communication and follow up just really really makes me feel like they don’t genuinely care. I even sent a couple emails about what happened to my pup with questions some time back and never got a response at all. They are only a two person team, so maybe they have too much to handle. After all that my dog is back on diuretics at a higher dose as well as a higher dose of vetmedin. Thankfully, he is stable again. Which reminds me… my pups kidney values kept increasing even with the tinctures Dr Tudor had him on. I’m very disappointed with our overall experience. I agree with someone else who said he is not a true “natural care” holistic vet and i do not feel he is patient. Please look elsewhere and if you still decide to bring your pup here, be on high alert. Do your own research and don’t expect any follow up or to be able to easily communicate.
