Thrive Pet Healthcare - Germantown Reviews
I was happy with most of staff members but the receptionist was very rude. I asked her to change simple personal information on the invoice and the receptionist showed frustration and unwanted to do it. Which only took a minute for her to do. If you don't want to do your job why even bother! It just ruined my visit!
Jul 01, 2025 · Victoria LimI have been taking my German Shepard Diesel to this vet since he was a puppy. It’s sad to say that we are parting ways with thrive, due to moving out of state. Our overall experience with thrive has been nothing but fabulous! The staff and doctors are amazing, they make sure my fur baby is well taken care of! They have set the standard high! I always recommend Thrive to all friends and family back home! We appreciate everything thrive and the staff has done for diesel to keep him healthy and strong! Diesel will miss you guys 🐾
Mar 28, 2024 · SarahyaIt has taken me a while to write this review since we lost our sweet senior dog in July. I debated saying anything, but I think other dog owners should know. I honestly believe we lost our dog because of the actions and negligence of the vet and staff at Thrive Germantown. We brought in our senior dog multiple times for various issues, and the vet performed what they said was a "thorough examination" (that we were charged for) each time. However, the vet never once raised concerns about a lump in our dog's throat. He started having issues eating despite being a very food-motivated dog, and he began wheezing and struggling to breathe. We continued bringing him to the vet but was told to try various expensive medications because he was "old and just had arthritis." I had to watch my dog suffer and steadily decline while they offered zero answers. During one visit, I specifically asked for an X-ray (I had to push them to do this) because I thought there could be something blocking his windpipe. I'm not a vet and I do not work in the medical field so it is INSANE that I had to be the one to suggest this. I asked them to specifically check his throat/windpipe. Days later, they told me the results were clear and once again said he must be suffering from arthritis. However, they never showed me the X-rays. I should have asked for them and kick myself for not forcing them to share the images.I later took my dog to an urgent care because his breathing became incredibly labored. The urgent care IMMEDIATELY flagged the large lump in his throat and asked Thrive to send the X-rays. It took DAYS to get Thrive to agree to share the images, and they always came up with different excuses. As soon as I got access to the images, I realized that they took X-rays of my dog's spine rather than his throat even though I had specifically asked them to look at his windpipe. They never told me, so I never knew. Shortly after, he died from thyroid cancer after the tumor became so large and was pressing on his windpipe. The cancer had progressed too much, so it was too late to put him through surgery, radiation, and chemo. We tried to make him as comfortable as we could in his final days and had to ultimately put him to sleep. I will never forgive Thrive Germantown, Dr. Kaler, and the staff for what they did to our family.
Jan 22, 2025 · Haley SmootI came in for a first time visit with my very anxious large dog. The technician & doctor were very nice and understanding. They tried their best to examine my pup but he was a little too nervous. Even though we couldn’t get the treatment today (no fault to the vet) we were given instructions/meds and a second chance to come back. I have a Pitty and as well all know they have a false reputation of being bad and dangerous dogs but here at thrive Germantown we felt understood and comfortable. Thank you!
Aug 04, 2023 · Raven NickensService is good. Would be very helpful if the closing hours were later, like 7:30 - 8:00. People need time to get home from work, pick up their pet and go to the office. 6 pm is too early. Just saying.
