We took our dog with epilepsy here, and our cat. We’ve saw Dr. Glass and Dr. Biddle. Dr. Glass was amazing, but I don’t think he works here anymore or doesn’t work as much, because we haven’t had him in years. Dr. Biddle was very good with our cat, who we ended up having to put down. He was pretty good with our epileptic dog, however I didn’t feel like our dog was a top concern when we went. Our dog had his last appt and I asked for new/supplemental meds. Vet said he didn’t need them yet, and his next seizure ended up killing him (he was 3). I just called to ask questions about getting my other dog neutered, and I was met with the most rude, unwelcoming, front desk worker in my life. I asked about their standard procedure, such as do they keep them overnight, is anyone monitoring the animals over night. I received one word answers “yes” they stay overnight, “no” no one is there to monitor overnight, in an extremely unpleasant voice. It seemed as though I inconvenienced her by asking her to do her job. I waited for her to elaborate on her answers, but was met with silence. This definitely turned me off from ever returning, as I’m sure it would for any new customers inquiring about their services. Very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Sad because this place used to be very nice. - Emmy Clark

  • General Wellness and Preventive Care: This typically involves routine examinations, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and advice on parasite control. Preventative care aims to maintain your pet's overall health and detect potential issues early.

  • Diagnostic Services: These services are crucial for identifying health problems. While specific details about on-site capabilities are not extensively available, veterinary clinics generally offer blood work, urinalysis, and potentially imaging services like X-rays to aid in diagnosis.

  • Surgical Procedures: Standard veterinary clinics often perform common surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering. More complex surgeries might also be offered, depending on the clinic's specialization and equipment.

  • Pet Boarding and Overnight Stays: As indicated by client feedback regarding neutering procedures, the clinic does offer overnight stays for animals, suggesting that they have facilities for pets to remain under care following certain procedures or for short-term boarding.

  • Medication and Treatment Plans: The clinic dispenses necessary medications and establishes treatment plans for various conditions, including chronic illnesses like epilepsy and thyroid issues, based on diagnostic findings.

  • End-of-Life Care: While difficult, this essential service is provided, as noted by a client who had to make end-of-life decisions for their cat. This indicates the clinic supports owners through the final stages of their pet's life.

Town & Country Veterinary has garnered a range of feedback from local clients, highlighting several features and areas of note. These insights can provide a more comprehensive picture for prospective pet owners in the Kentucky area.

  • Experienced Veterinarians: The clinic has had veterinarians such as Dr. Glass and Dr. Biddle mentioned in reviews. Dr. Glass was recalled as "amazing," indicating a positive impact on pet care experiences. Dr. Biddle was noted for being "very good with our cat, who we ended up having to put down," suggesting a compassionate approach during difficult times.

  • Support for Complex Conditions: The clinic has experience handling specific conditions like epilepsy, as one client brought their epileptic dog for care. This indicates a willingness to manage chronic or complex health issues.

  • Overnight Monitoring Policies: For procedures like neutering that involve overnight stays, the clinic's policy of not having staff "monitoring the animals overnight" is a specific detail that prospective clients should be aware of, as it was directly communicated by a front desk worker.

  • Approach to Diagnostic Procedures: Client experiences describe situations where pets are separated from owners for procedures such as blood work. This is a notable practice, as some owners prefer to remain with their pets to help keep them calm during such interventions.

  • Transparency in Pricing and Billing: There have been client concerns regarding the clarity and finality of cost estimates. One review mentioned a significant discrepancy between an initial estimate and the final bill, with additional charges for what was perceived as non-essential presence in the room. The policy of requiring full payment before an animal can be released is also noted.

  • Customer Service at the Front Desk: Recent feedback has indicated concerns about the professionalism and helpfulness of the front desk staff, with one reviewer describing an interaction as "rude, unwelcoming," and receiving "one word answers." This aspect of customer interaction is an important consideration for initial impressions and ongoing communication.

  • Handling of Prescription Medications: A recent update from a client highlighted issues with the discontinuation of prescribed medication without direct communication or proper authorization for a new prescription, leading to frustration regarding continuity of care.

  • Management's Response to Feedback: One client described an interaction where a manager allegedly assumed their identity based on a Google review and addressed the review in an unprofessional manner when called for a medication inquiry. This indicates a specific approach to handling client feedback.
