Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry specializes exclusively in advanced dental and oral surgery services for dogs and cats. Their comprehensive approach to pet dental health involves a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT): This includes thorough dental examinations, professional scaling and polishing of teeth, and detailed charting of oral health.
- Advanced Dental Imaging: Utilizing digital dental X-rays (radiographs) to evaluate the health of teeth below the gum line, identify hidden pathology, and guide treatment decisions.
- Tooth Extractions: Expert and careful extraction of diseased or problematic teeth, ranging from simple extractions to complex surgical extractions, with meticulous attention to pain management.
- Periodontal Disease Treatment: Comprehensive management of gum disease, including advanced cleaning techniques, root planing, and sometimes gum surgery to preserve teeth and improve oral health.
- Oral Surgery: Performing various oral surgical procedures beyond extractions, such as mass removals, jaw fracture repair, and other soft tissue surgeries within the mouth.
- Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist Consultation: Crucially, for senior or high-risk patients, they have an on-site cardiologist (or readily available consultation) to assess cardiac health and optimize anesthesia protocols, ensuring patient safety during dental procedures.
- Dedicated Veterinary Anesthesiologist: A standout service is the presence of a dedicated, trained anesthesiologist who directly manages the anesthesia during procedures. This provides a specialized layer of safety and monitoring, especially vital for senior pets or those with underlying health conditions.
- Pain Management: Comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative pain management protocols are implemented to ensure pets are comfortable before, during, and after their dental procedures.
- Pre-Surgical Health Clearance: Thorough pre-surgical blood work and specialist consultations (e.g., cardiologist) are conducted to ensure pets are medically cleared for anesthesia and surgery, minimizing risks.
Their specialized focus means they are equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment and possess deep expertise in managing complex oral health issues.
Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry is truly distinguished by several unique features and highlights that set it apart as a premier center for pet dental care in New York City.

This specialization means a deeper level of expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, and refined protocols specifically for oral health issues.
- On-Site Board-Certified Specialists: A critical highlight, especially for senior or high-risk pets, is the presence of (or access to) an on-site veterinary anesthesiologist and cardiologist. This ensures that anesthesia is handled by a dedicated expert, and any underlying heart conditions are thoroughly evaluated and managed before, during, and after surgery, significantly enhancing patient safety. This level of specialization is rare and highly valued by concerned pet owners.
- Comprehensive Pre-Surgical Assessment: The clinic emphasizes thorough pre-surgical evaluations, including consultations with multiple specialists (surgeon, cardiologist, anesthesiologist). While there are separate fees for these, as noted by a client, this multi-specialty approach ensures every aspect of the pet's health is assessed, leading to safer outcomes.
- Exceptional Communication and Transparency: Clients praise the clinic's robust texting system, allowing for real-time updates and questions without additional charges. This constant communication, from pre-surgery nervousness to during-procedure updates and post-operative recovery, significantly eases owner anxiety. Decisions are confirmed with owners even during surgery, demonstrating high accountability.
- Compassionate and Welcoming Team: The entire staff, from the front desk to the medical specialists (Dr. Jung, Theresa, Marco, Denise, and others), is consistently described as kind, welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. They go above and beyond to make both pets and their humans feel comfortable and safe.
- Personalized Recovery Options: The flexibility to choose recovery options, such as a playpen over a crate if that suits the individual pet better, showcases their commitment to the animal's comfort and well-being post-surgery.
- Thorough Post-Operative Care and Follow-up: The clinic provides regular follow-ups post-surgery, offering guidance and support through the recovery process, which is crucial for long-term healing and client peace of mind.
- Results-Oriented Care: Client testimonials clearly show excellent outcomes, with pets recovering smoothly, returning to full energy, and living pain-free lives, truly "extending their life" and resolving long-standing issues like gum disease. These are professionals who "do not take shortcuts."

Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry Reviews
I’m writing this review exactly the way I wish others had when I was searching for the right place for my senior dog. He’s over 12 years old and had a tooth extraction when he was younger, but at this age I’m much more careful. The risks are higher and I needed a clinic with strong reviews and real accountability. This clinic stood out for both. Before booking, I called to confirm they had an anesthesiologist on site. That was important to me because many regular vets don’t have one, and I didn’t want anyone but a trained anesthesiologist handling my senior dog. This clinic also focuses specifically on dental extractions, which gave me extra confidence. The consultation has a fee, which they told me upfront, but what they didn’t make clear is that each specialist has a separate fee. I saw the surgeon, the cardiologist, and the anesthesiologist, and each one cost about 250 to 300 dollars. None of those fees go toward the surgery, and all of them are billed separately even though they’re in the same clinic. That added up to almost 1000 dollars just for consultations. The cardiologist ended up finding that my dog had low blood pressure, something I never knew. It was really important that we caught it early. Once we got his health cleared, we moved forward with scheduling. I also met the anesthesiologist, who explained her role, what would happen during surgery, and what to expect in case of emergencies. She made me feel calm and confident. The entire team was kind and welcoming. I introduced myself to everyone because I wanted to know who was caring for my dog. They also have a great texting system where you can ask questions and get updates without being charged. I sent over 100 texts and always got helpful replies. That kind of communication helped ease a lot of my anxiety. On the day of surgery I was really nervous. Even though he was low risk, I was still scared. They made him the first patient and updated me throughout the entire process. They told me what teeth were being removed, confirmed decisions with me during the procedure, and kept me in the loop the whole time. After surgery they offered recovery options. Your dog can be placed in a crate or a playpen depending on what they’re comfortable with. My dog did not want the crate, so they placed him in a playpen which was much better for him.The final cost of the procedure depends on how long the surgery takes, how many extractions are needed, and what type. I was given a range and paid a portion upfront. When my dog came out he was walking, using the bathroom, and doing well. He had some diarrhea afterward, but they followed up regularly to help us through recovery. Now he’s back to himself and healthier than before. No more gum disease, no more issues. I truly feel this extended his life. If you have the ability to bring your dog here, you’ll be in the best hands.Thank you to the surgeon, anesthesiologist, cardiologist, front desk, and every team member I met. Thank you for caring for my dog, calming my anxiety, and giving him the best care possible. These are not people who take shortcuts. These are specialists. These are the best of the best in New York.
Jun 30, 2025 · Daniel PerezI’m so thankful to Dr. Jung and the amazing team — Theresa, Marco and Denise — for taking such wonderful care of my cat Stinky. She’s 10 years old and had to go through a big dental surgery, but thanks to their professionalism, kindness and attention to every little detail, the whole experience felt so much less scary — for both of us.It’s been a month since the surgery, and Stinky is doing great. She’s eating like a champ, full of energy, and clearly enjoying her pain-free new life. Watching her recover so smoothly has been such a relief and joy. I always felt that she was in the best hands possible.Thank you all for being not just incredibly professional, but also truly caring. We’re so lucky to have found you. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch vet dental care!
Jun 05, 2025 · Carina CI cannot say enough great things about my dog and I’s experience with Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery. From our day 1 evaluation here with Dr. Jung, Marco, Teresa and the rest of this staff have been nothing short of amazing in every aspect. They make you feel at ease with compassion, they listen, and most importantly help you in any way possible to make sure you and your pets needs are being taken care of. When it came to procedure day I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving my dog Tobi in the hands of another vet. I still cannot believe the great job that Dr. Jung and his staff did on my dogs teeth, they’re so white it looks like he got a new set of teeth! If you are contemplating bringing your pet here do not hesitate, I promise you that you’ll be blown away with the service and bed side manner that they provide here. Thank you again Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Tobi is loving showing off his new pearly whites! 🐶
Jun 24, 2025 · Frankie MurdoccoI took my 12.5 year old Brussels Griffon to see Dr Jung at Tribeca Veterinary Dentistry yesterday and we had such a positive experience. First of all the space is stunning, not at all clinical and cold, it was beautiful, warm and inviting. The receptionist and vet tech were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. When we met Dr Jung he was beyond kind and communicative. He took so much time explaining all that was going on with Fallon's dental health. Including drawings, showing me how canine oral hygiene affects the nasal cavity, explaining the importance of extractions that had happened back in '18 at another clinic, etc. He was so great with her too, she was so happy there and she really took to him immediately and she wasn't scared at all which is unusual for her in new doctors offices. It was clear that Dr Jung is a big animal and dog person himself. He is so highly specialized and has a full time anesthesiologist which is so very important, especially if you have a dog with underlying conditions with things like trachea or heart issues. We are really lucky to finally have such a specialized private practice dental clinic for dogs here in NYC. Everyone needs to know about Dr Jung and his great clinic.
May 16, 2024 · Allison VengrinDr. Jung is the BEST! My dog fractured her tooth a few months back when he was still practicing in New Jersey. He was incredibly patient with my dog, Bubbles, who has severe white coat syndrome - LOL. He sat on the ground and made her feel comfortable, and completed his exam while sitting on the floor with her. It was obvious how comfortable Bubbles felt with Dr. Jung, so I knew when it was time to have her tooth taken care of, he was the only person I would trust with her care. We traveled in to the city to see him and I am so grateful he was able to save her tooth and successfully repair it. He and his assistant communicated everything to me throughout the procedure and Bubbles is thriving now. Highly highly highly recommend, thank you Dr. Jung & team! Big smiles from Bubbles!
