Dr. Bookbinder and the team here are amazing. My pit tore her CCL August 2021 when she was 1 1/2, thankfully my vet referred me to here. My dog is reactive to strangers touching her and she does not like going to the vet. Her first surgery was a success but Dr. Bookbinder told me to be prepared in case she tears her other leg. He was correct and she needed another surgery March 2022. He used dissolvable stitches so he didn’t have to remove them and stress her out, which would possibly leading to messing up the healing. The second time he allowed me to take her home same day because the first surgery she was so stressed out staying the night. I was in the room when she woke up from the second surgery and took her home. Diane here is so wonderful I have emailed them because she was limping around 8 month after the second surgery and she assured me that the rate of failure is almost impossible and to give it a few days and if she was still limping they would examine her. Thankfully she was right and my girl is happy and healthy! Its been almost 3 years now and if it wasn’t for the scars on her legs you would never know she had surgery. Much cheaper than other quotes I got and he did an amazing job. She is running, jumping and playing like a dog should. I really can’t thank Dr. Bookbinder enough. - Kayla C

While a comprehensive list of all procedures would be extensive, based on customer reviews, their core offerings revolve around specialized and orthopedic surgeries, alongside general surgical needs.

  • Cruciate Ligament Repair (CCL/TPLO Surgery): A highly specialized and frequently performed procedure for dogs who have torn their cranial cruciate ligament (similar to an ACL tear in humans). This is a cornerstone service, as evidenced by multiple positive reviews highlighting successful outcomes for this challenging orthopedic injury.
  • Mass Removal and Biopsy: Surgical excision of various types of masses (tumors, lumps, cysts) found on or within the pet's body, followed by biopsy for pathological analysis to determine if they are benign or malignant. This service is crucial for early detection and treatment of cancerous or problematic growths.
  • Soft Tissue Surgery: A broad category that includes surgical procedures not involving bones or joints, such as removal of foreign bodies, gastrointestinal surgeries, wound repair, and other internal organ procedures as needed.
  • Advanced Surgical Techniques: The center is equipped to perform complex operations, utilizing modern surgical methods and technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes for their patients.
  • Post-Operative Care and Monitoring: Comprehensive care extending beyond the surgery itself, including detailed discharge instructions, pain management protocols, and monitoring for proper healing, often tailored to individual pet needs (e.g., dissolvable stitches, same-day discharge for stressed pets).
  • Pre-Surgical Consultations and Diagnostics: Thorough evaluations prior to surgery, including a review of the pet's history, physical examination, and potentially diagnostic imaging (like X-rays) to accurately assess the condition and plan the surgical approach.

It is evident that the center focuses on critical surgical interventions, providing specialized care that complements the services offered by general veterinary practices.
